I am a 51 year old Indian living in the Middle east since 1997. In 1998 I got fooled by a beggar who came with his hand all scarred and bandaged. Later over the years I saw more than 20 such beggars and I would ask them why are they doing this... all were Pakistanis (not being biased please)

Child labour is a punishable offense in India.. so its rare to see child labour.. due to mid day meal schemes (I go to govt schools often - they get good milk, egg, rice dal etc).. and by law- children have the right to study till 14 years...even kids of labourers attend school atleast till Class 7 or 8.
