    This is the content I come here for - Jake buys junk, Jake fixes junk. Well done. FWIW, until you replace the control arms or control arm bushings, your steering will probably hunt. Now it's time for you to "de-JC Whitney" the exterior.

The one I really love is the burnt orange Dream Cruiser with black and orange interior that belongs to a friend's mother. Just a lot of fun. Next job has to be the lower control arms, because that is what is causing the strange things with the steering. Another alignment after that, too, and you won't recognize how the car drives. Looks like a whole lot of fun.

    Someone had a lot of love for that car, probably parked it in the winter, as a boomer would do with this car. Hard to believe how clean it is underneath. Jake, that car really suits you, because your hooptie fleet has such a wide variety of car maker's, show's you will drive anything, and watching you drive the boost car like it's incognito power cracks me up. I still think your channel is underated, because you fix everything on the ground like most of your viewer's. Good on you mate fixing up that once loved boomer car that was only sold because the boomer is dead. I doubt the person who owned this if they were living would have parted with this car.

    My grandma had one, turbo model. 2003 Signature series. If I’m not mistaken the non GT turbo PT’s had a smaller turbo. It was a weird yet oddly satisfying car to drive. She bought it almost new. Ended up needing fuel injectors, she sold it cheap to my dads coworker. Shady shop she trusted for years replaced A/C compressor, after telling her that was the issue. Then the A/C still didn’t work. Condenser was the issue. They broke half the front bumper, grille was zip tied, and almost every clip was different. Then it started having issues running. It would stall, buck, and jolt. She bought an accord, was a poor choice. I almost impulsively bought that car to keep because it’s “neat” but it was pretty useless to me. I have a 2013 FCA vehicle. Don’t need to add a old DaimlerChrysler too. Illinois and cars don’t mix well, especially early-mid 2000’s Chrysler products. It was pretty rusty.

    Don’t neglect those turbo oil lines. Most turbos need that oil flow AND pressure to keep the bearing working properly. If you have a leak, you are losing pressure and that bearing could be at risk.

  • @LiqdPT
    @LiqdPT 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    That hose that you're referring to as the PCV is the oil blow by line. Kinda sucks that it's just hooked into the intake like that as the oil will pool at the intake of the turbo. Normally this line goes into the side of the air box before the air filter, and a little oil may pool in the bottom of the air box.
    The actual PCV valve is coming out of the top of the valve cover on the passenger side and runs to the back of the manifold.

    If you encounter any future rough running/idling issues, check the 2 gaskets (base and mid) on the intake manifold. Pretty common leakers. Also, the PCV and valve cover breather are notorious for leaking oil. An oil catch-can is very recommended. Cheers!
