Palestinian poet Mosab Abu Toha on survival & poetry in Gaza

After award-winning Palestinian poet Mosab Abu Toha was brutally detained by the IDF in November, he was released after an outcry from the international literary community. Since then, he’s been documenting what’s been happening in Gaza, including the death of family and friends and the destruction of his home. He joined MSNBC's Ayman Mohyeldin to discuss the plight of the Palestinians of Gaza and the rich tradition of poetry in Palestinian life.

Muslims are individuals. Jews are individuals. People's actions define their character...not their race, religion or belief system. Yes, Hamas is a terrorist group and shoul be held accountable. Netanyahu's attack on Gaza resulted in the death of 35.000 Palestinian civilians. These folks did nothing wrong.

"Scholasticide"? 🤣🤣🤣 It's amazing how special this war between HAMAS and Israel is; how unique in world history it's regarded to be. The unproven word of a terrorist organization is taken as fact in a way the word of no other terrorist group has been. Even accepting HAMAS' claim that 35,000 Gazans have been killed, the death of only 1.5 per cent of the population is regarded without doubt as a genocide, when 11.1 per cent of the German population being killed in the Second World War is not. And, even in the present, Russia is bombing schools in Ukraine and kidnapping Ukranian children and not one person has applied the ridiculous neologism "scholasticide" to that conflict. It really and truly does make one wonder why is the HAMAS-Israel war treated so differently? What, other than the distortions of a woke, racist lens, could possibly be the cause?
