What confuses me is that:
A. Democrats are pushing EVs.
B.Republicans aren’t on board with EVs.
C. Democrats hate Tesla.

Republican's only hate EV's as a symbol of being forced, coerced to bend to the man. Biden hates Tesla, because it is non union.
Imho. Biden hates Tesla because of Elon's purchase of Twitter and subsequent uncovering of news suppression not aligned to Dem. narrative.

What you are missing is that they don't actually care about EVs, all the subsidies are just covert bailouts for GM and Ford.
And they hate Tesla because Elon doesn't pay protection money and doesn't follow orders.
But don't think republicans are any better. They are worse actually, because they have a lot more practice with this kind of politics.
I know multiple older longtime Republicans that bought a Tesla after they took a test drive. they just don't want to be forced.
