Time Traveling through TH-cam .. I’ve just taken possession of the AUDEZE LCDX 2021 Creators package …they’re a absolute step up from my current favorite headphone ( Sen’s 650) Great review 👍👍
I bought the Audeze LCD-X last year. I have to say it's a huge difference from the AKG K-701 for example, which I thought would be a top headphone. Far from it! When I listen to my favorite band Dream Theater with the Audeze, for example, I can hear things as if I were in heavenly paradise! It is incredible what a fantastic sound carpet is perceived with this headphone! And all this without having taken drugs. It's really like I'm in the middle of a concert and afterwards I feel very good! For mixing I take them of course, that's why I bought them.
I'm pretty sure they pronounce it as "odyssey" although I'm right there with you. My brain sees those letters in that order and is helpless in decoding them as _odd-EEZ._
Those cans look amazing. They're a bit out of my price range, but they look amazing. I use AKG K240s for mixing. ONE DAY I'll be able to afford something higher end, but the K240s work fine for now.
I'd love to get your take on the Slate VSX headphones Mike. I've actually just ordered a pair after waiting a while for more real world reviews to come out.
He's changed them a few times, so the reviews will be of different generations. I'm not kidding - the newest software has different calibrations for the different generations of hardware.
Hi thanks for the review. I plan to buy LCD 2 closed-back or this LCD XC, I just want a good sounding headphone. I mainly play games and watch movies/anime and my music source is Spotify premium with 320kbps/48kHz. My AMP/DAC is my 12 year old NuForce HD 24bit/96kHz (up to 300ohms), but still I am using 24bit/48kHz in my settings. Should stick to LCD 2 closed-back? and so I can still keep my current old buddy NuForce? If you can suggest any other stack for LCD 2 closed-back (if I still do need it like Magnius/Modius). Thank you for your time.

They're like Audis... not too hard to drive

Hi, have you ever tried the Hifiman Anando Nano ?
Can you hear the difference in improved sound quality using balanced cable vs unbalanced in LCD-XC?
