    I cried when he said this behavior does not mean you have done something wrong. The shame and guilt are crippling. I cannot tell you how much your videos have helped our family. Thank you so, so much for your channel. I have been watching for about a year and the changes have been very noticeable. You are truly changing lives.

    When we learned to calmly walk away from our sons verbal assaults they decreased in frequency! And now they rarely occur! Game changer!!

    Dear Ryan, can you please make a video where you talk about parents with challenging children and how the parents can best care for themselves? Specific reccomendations to be able to have the mental bandwidth to be able to handle outbursts and arguing and stay calm while doing it?? Emotional regulation is very hard for me as a parent also all 4 people in our family have ADHD. I am so burned out mentally that I unfortunately give in to my children's behavior a lot of the time. Thank you.

      I feel your pain. While our son is the only one in the household with ADHD I bear the brunt of his behaviors. My husband has not educated himself on ADHD or ways to parent it. Its a lonely island I am on and frequently find myself on the verge of tears. The emotional toll effects every area of my life.

    The fact that you are familiar with this behavior, specifically the knife threats, is so huge to me. I’ve dealt with that and discussed with therapists and they never help with how to react to it. I truly appreciate you!

    Hi Ryan, These videos have been very helpful. Thanks you soo much for doing this. I am sure many other families in the US are experiencing this, but there is a major shortage of some medications in the US and it is increasingly getting harder to keep a reliable supply around (and you wonder why the US has such a mental health issue). How would you suggest dealing with the lack of medication with school and home? Academics are doing fine, but behavior is crumbling at an accelerated rate? What can we do as parents to be supportive of the child and the teachers? Thanks again

      I have many videos on behavior here at the channel, as well as the behavior playlist. As for your question I don't think I'm able to answer broad questions like that accurately as every situation is context dependent.

    Hi, my son is 6 years old, turning 7 in November. When he hits his younger brother and i disapline him, he has anger outbursts. Even though i talk calmly or sympathise with him, he will say means things or throw things. When i move him away from the room to calm down or tell him stay until his calm he will scream mean things and keep coming back. I will move him back n fourth and it drains me out. I would love to know how to deal with that situation or how i could do better.

    Your video describes my son, except that he is 38 yrs old. It is a nightmare. He didn’t do this as a child, started around 21, and has gotten worse and worse. Are there other adult children doing this?

    • @ADHDDude
      @ADHDDude  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      He's not an adult child, he's a grown man and if he is making anyone feel unsafe with his behavior, that needs to be confronted, and there many need to be police involvement. Being an adult with ADHD does not give you a pass on how you treat others or behave.

    Hi, my son is seven and non verbal and extremely aggressive of late, he is currently having a episode and it’s 3:30am in South Africa, me and my husband have decided to not go into his room like we usually do, how do I deal with a nonverbal child in this situation.

    • @ADHDDude
      @ADHDDude  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I couldn't answer that without any information or the ability to ask questions. If he is not medicated, I would strongly recommend you speak with a child psychiatrist or nurse practioner as soon as possible.

      If he don't get a reaction from me, he bullies his younger brother and he gets alot of emotional reactions.

      As I mentioned in this video, this is an evidence-based protocol, called nonviolent resistance. This is not an opinion.
