¡Saludos! I am a dual 76 year old American and Canadian citizen who loves Mexico. I grew up in Tucson, Arizona and fell in love with the Mexican culture. I got drafted into the US Armed Forces during the Vietnam War and have been living in Canada ever since (1970). I love your shows. They make me homesick. I'm happy to see you enjoying your life in Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico! Keep up the good work. Note: Sadly, I've spent the entire summer indoors because of the smoke from the various surrounding forest wildfires. I have several Mexican friends living here in my city in the great frozen north. Cheers.

Hi there ! I spent the Summer in Central Mexico and it was lovely and cool for the most part. Now I am back in Oregon and it is cool and lovely here... I got the best of both worlds... Planning to move back down to Central Mexico in December to skip on Winter! :) Most of my friends think I am a little crazy for spending so much time in MEXICO as well... Happy to see ya enjoying your life in Mexico!

Love hearing your take on Mexico life, always interesting. Would love to see your new area, maybe you could film a neighbourhood walk in the future. :))

Hi Tamara! I really enjoy listening to you talk of Mexico. My husband and I come down every year to get away from Canadian winters. I don’t think that you need to justify why you moved to Mexico! You do what’s best for you. Enjoy life to the fullest. Life is just to damn short to live according to what others think. You go girl! Take care and bye for now from Canada ❤

Nice to see another of your thoughtful videos. I am hearing more and more news about Mexico's water crisis. Keeping fingers crossed that the government can implement a solid water management plan/policy. Also I lived my whole live in San Francisco Bay area and have spent time near Grants Pass. Always interesting how folks personal experiences can intersect

I enjoy your videos, and you inspire me. My children and family think I am a bit crazy for wanting to move there as a single woman. I'm moving January. Maybe you will give me some plant and gardening advice. Your background looks lovely.

I, like you have moved a lot and also when here in the 70s (for backpacking) I looked around and made a mental note to future self that here is an excellent place to “end up”! As healthcare, access to real food and feeling safe on the street worsens every day in the US I thank my stars❤

"Try Mexican Products" I just laughed out loud. I actually drive 40 minutes to latino groceries here with the express purpose of trying Mexican products.

That is great! A lot of people here pretty much shop exclusively at the stores that import American products. Especially with food, I prefer Mexican products because they are fresher!

We’re kindred souls. I crave change, adventure and living all kinds of different ways and places. I’m just not that person that could stay in a place 30-40 years.
My family doesn’t understand this at all.
They especially think I’m crazy for picking Mexico.
But it’s not my place or job to convince anyone.
I just want to live my life my way, and I love Mexico.

Yes. I gave up trying to convince people that it is lovely here! Different strokes for different folks!

There is a big difference between visiting and living in a different Country. When you visit a different country your mind is more like a tourist mind versus a mind of a local.

I totally agree. Until you have to really pay the utility bills, deal with a landlord or home repairs, etc. you never get a real feel for daily living. Vacation living is very different!

I'm still trying to find a way to take my cats to Mexico! All plans have failed 😿 I can't wait to leave the US, but could sure use some help 🙏

I drove down with my cats, but I only had two. I cover that in my video on my journey down. They were fine, but I did some practicing with them before the big drive.

I am so glad you are happy where you live as that is such an important thing. My sister-in-law lived in Oaxaca for about 5 years but returned here to Santa Fe during COVID--she loved her life there are visits faithfully with friends every January. I do think your "tone" is defensive and negative toward those "friends" who still live here in the United States. Our "community" can be both in-person and from afar via social media and THAT (I find) is the only remedial value in social media. Thank your friends for asking the question and just allow it to permeate you. Perhaps your defensiveness - the smoke, the fires, the heat - is really about your uncertainty? Just a thought. Enjoy the beauty of Lake Chapala.

Interesting about being "defensive". I really just wondered why they asked because all my Facebook posts are always so happy! There is no way I would live in Southern Oregon again, but some day I may visit again for a few days.
