I Iove this scene. She's extremely beautiful and sensitive, showing all her qualities as an actress. You're watching in sitcom and still can feel touched. And he's the perfect match for her, you can see he cares about Fran.
This scene is everything. I love when they would do serious scenes and truly show the characters’ capabilities as actors. You can see the chemistry between Fran and Charles here and the special connection they have. ❤️ It also proves that there nobody else for Fran than Maxwell. Although Nigel was offering her everything she ever yearned for in a man, deep down she could never get over Maxwell 💕
I legitimately forgot the actors name was Charles and I was so confused for a second lol. You are absolutely right though. they worked so well together.
The next scene where Max continues gladly carrying her around, even though he has noticed Fran is so recovered she forgot which ankle she got injured is a perfect complement to this one.
This episode had me in tears. She really didn't know where her heart lied on between the two brothers but after realizing Max still held something her heart wanted in the end, we see where her devotion and adoration truly were.
Yeah this was an emotional episode towards the end when she originally had left when it was late at night while The Bee Gees played in the background during the love montage. But at the end, it’s obvious that Fran has everything she needs right there. 🥰
I’ve seen every episode of The Nanny and this by far is my favorite scene of the whole series. You can actually feel Frans love for Maxwell and Maxwell is so attentive and compassion towards Fran. Just beautifully done
Her missing the boat means it was not meant to be with Nigel. She was meant to be with Maxwell. It was fate she missed the boat. She knew where her home was. It was with Maxwell. No one else.
If she really wanted to be with Nigel, she could’ve called him. Yes, that night she came back because she missed the boat, but she chose to stay after that.
I can't help it. I was team Fran/Mr.Sheffield from the very beginning. And tho I've seen these episodes more times than I want to admit, I can't help tearing up. Not many shows do that to me. (I love Lucy when she tells Ricky she's going to have a baby)
You never know when a moment is going to come up in continuity later in a series, so I thought it neat that this episode came up later on and made for yet another great moment :)
When Fran started to have a slight cry, that made me sad 😔. (But i knew it was just a distraction to get the letter ✉ before Mr Sheffield... )... but again, that little sad part just something... The Nanny is the best! My childhood tv series.
This show is always such fun to watch. Actually, the cry was real (for her character). She began to cry because her heart was breaking over Max, but to cover it up she said the tears were about her the pain in her ankle.
I don't think it was just a distraction to get the letter, I think this came after (an excuse that she went clubbing with Val). I do see there her real sorrow, real pain and real tears. Rare in always positive and cheerful Fran, that's why so precious.
This is actually my favourite moment in the whole show, on one hand Fran taking her life in her own hands, on the other fate making fun of her by not letting her go and yet somehow forcing her to stick with Mr Sheffield (I mean the older one, to be precise 😉). I can feel her vulnerabilty in my own guts.
*The only reason she returned is because she missed the boat. She was fully prepared to leave him because she didn't think they had a future together. I wonder what would've happened if she hadn't missed it. I'm glad she did! Fate twisted her ankle so she'd end up back at the mansion!* :)
The scenes where she talks to Max in the kitchen and leaves the mansion get me all teary. And even knowing that it all works out eventually, they’re just so sad to watch.
She had decided to leave New York on a boat to marry Nigel, Maxwell's brother. That was what the letter was about. She grabbed the letter, because at this point in the episode she had changed her mind and come home to stay with Maxwell and the kids.
This is Season 4 episode 8: An Affair to Dismember. Fran and Maxwell's brother, Nigel, developed feelings for each other during his visit to New York. He proposed to her and asked her to return to London with him on the last ship for the evening. He told her to meet him at the pier at midnight and if she didn't show up, he knew the answer was no. After convincing herself that Max wasn't interested in her, she left a resignation letter on his desk while he was out (the letter she rushed to hide), kissed a sleeping Niles goodbye and left for the pier without waking anyone. She missed the boat by a few minutes and returned home to hide the letter, which is where this clip picks up from.
@@natatatt Well, not exactly "change her mind" as she missed the boat, otherwise she would have gone away with Nigel. Even though she didn't really want to, her mind was made up as she didn't want to wait for Maxwell making a move any longer.
Modern independent woman tries to find better provider in the club, she fails and decided to come back to proven one. What a nice story of modern feminism

I think she didn't want to leave the kids either, or Niles.
My heart, such a sweet scene, I love how caring he was when he thought she had just hurt her ancle.

This is one of Fran Drescher's finest acting in the whole show.

The 90's produced some of the greatest sitcoms ever 💖
Sure did!
@Steiner They sure were!
Yess for sure. This show was pretty interesting to watch, also Seinfeld, Married With Children, etc.
Totally agree brilliant time's
This was one of the best episodes and an amazing, memorable scene. I tear up every time Fran starts to cry.
This is my favorite scene because can see that under all her positivity there is a woman in love and hurting
One of Fran's finest acting in this show; this episode and the one when she found out she wasn't pregnant. Gosh, those two scenes broke my heart.
that tearing up moment is one of the finest acting moments in this series from both the actors but especially from fran.
this gotta be one of the best scenes in the show, the love they have for each other is so

they never did?
@@katieblake8911 Nope.

This was one of Fran Drescher favorite episodes 😊💞
The montage they did before this scene was even better when she was thinking back on their relationship. It was sad, but still a good scene
She did not decide to come back to Maxwell. She missed the boat on which she was gonna escape with Nigel. That's why she returned.
Yes, but sometimes the fortune show us the best way...
She didn’t have to come back. She could have kept going. She knew that she was meant to be with Maxwell and the kids.

They were so adorable in this scene 😍😍😍😍 cutest TV couple ever!
Their chemistry is totally off the charts, just like David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson …🕵🏻😂
Damn! I was thinking the same thing!
damnnnnn, yess!!
Such a great chemistry
one of my favorite scenes😄 when he picks her up
Still easily the show I rewatch every year
The last minutes of this episode was so emotional. A part of me actually kinda wished she got on rhe boat, but I'm glad she didn't
00:55 it should be a illegal to see Fran Fine cry 😢😢😢😢 also shes an amazing actor 👏
The title is misleading. Fran missed the ferry to the UK, that's why she came back...

I love how those scene ends with applause, no laugh, no aw. Just a moment of chivalry on maxwell, and maybe a sign for Fran
Makes me cry!!! I get max but still she waited 5 years! :(
Fran Fine's Fashion Is Usually Fire : I love this black on black!!
Looks so real doesn’t seem they have a script great acting
this scene made me burst into tears out of nowhere
I love Fran so much. This show will always have a special place in my heart
"Don't you worry Miss Fine, I've got you..." "Boy, do you ever..." I want someone that looks at me like Fran does at that moment...

Great job 👍
Que episodio es este?
But unfortunately Max knows Fran almost married Nigel without telling him
best scene in the show
Could someone explain what the plot was about? I didnt see this episode
Why was she trying to get the letter?
She had planned to run away with Nigel (Max's brother) which didn't happen. That was goodbye letter... 😅
She had decided to leave New York on a boat to marry Nigel, Maxwell's brother. That was what the letter was about. She grabbed the letter, because at this point in the episode she had changed her mind and come home to stay with Maxwell and the kids.
