That's so cool, it looks like an embryo growing
IKR? In a way, it is! The embryo of my PKM (Personal Knowledge Management) system. :)
@@nicolevdheach dot is somehow connected to you u
@@nicolevdh11 notes a day? That's systematization of knowledge without systematization
That's a beautiful brain.
My dream wish to create similar graph of all the ideas & concepts i have yet
You can get Obsidian now for free and just start doing it! Those concepts aren't going to record themselves without you!
Are you using the 3D graph plugin to show this? if not- imagine how SICK that would look lol
No... Its built in
Usefull session sir , thankyou so much for this session sir .
How much is it taking? That's one of my concern if I move to Obsidian. Evernote stores everything and don't have to worry about it😅
Se puede almacenar tu notas en g drive. Yo usaba eso , lo malo es que necesitas internet por eso prefere usar obsidian sin interner
I use google drive locally so what i did was link my obsidian to a folder in my local google drive and it automatically syncs so I dont have to worry about the storage space
@@alanlrivera-muniz5196will that work with trilium note app?
@@alanlrivera-muniz5196how did you do this?

Great music!
How do you pick colors? Very cool!
When you click settings there’s groups. Just create it based on how you sort. I use folders, so you just do path:Entertainment/ and a color and boom anything under that folder would be the color
@@Winter0192 Thanks for the hint! This is a fun customization feature
Great Scott.. work seeing 👍
How you changed the colors ?
In Graph view under groups you can create keyword matching categories with different colours.
Soooo goood. ❤
Glad you liked it! :)

how do you manage to quickly find what you need with so many notes?
Michaal, this is a great question, and one that requires a more considered response. I'm going to make a video on this and report back here when I do. :) Thanks!
Let me know when that video drops cuz I would like to know as well @nicolevdh
@@nicolevdhugh where's r/remindmebot when ya need her? I'd like to see your take on findability as well
@@mr_mr the good thing about obsidian is that it can consist of many overlapping organisation methods. As well as what you see here you can organise your notes in folders and sub folders like you would in other systems. Then there is the option to tag notes and to search in many ways too. Then one of the most important features is the links between notes, that creates a very useful way to organise notes by linking to other relevant notes, they also have a more focused “local” graph view which just looks at the links to and from your current note. Then there is also canvases which are kind of like a board that you can insert notes, images, text, websites and other things into and create purely visual links between them.
If you think about a project, you can break it down into sub projects and have a folder and main document for each, from there you can continue to go deeper and branch out using links in a sort of hierarchy, with the possibility to link to whatever other note you want too. Probably the best way to use it is to start with a single note and then branch out as you break down your idea and develop it further.
That is only a possible project based structure though, different types of notes will require different organisational strategies.
More like mold. 😂
That is a thing of beauty.
Since how many time you fill your Obsidian ?
how u changed color of the groups?
How you animated it?
Go to the graph and if you see a 'magic stick' icon, click it.
What’re your settings for the nodes and lines?? Idk what they’re called, but it comes up under the colour assignment section in the graph?
How do I color code files like that?
TTRPGS? Cool
How to change colors?
me 🙄seeing this video and looking at my few notes that I am struggling with.
Doesn't your computer crash? What computer do you use?
Hi Nicole, awesome usage of obsidian! Can you teach me in a quick way how to string my notes?
Search a bit on tags and linking notes
What is a ttrpg?
tabletop role playing game, such as d&d
how u make ur notes some small some big?
The size of the individual boubles is automatically determined by the number of links to other boubles
What’s TTRPGS?
How do you make it colored? Someone tell me, please
You set groups in graph view based off path, tag, etc.
@@antoniofavors13 If i take notes daily for study purpose and group the different subjs so will it able to show in the graph like in here in this video with each node having multiple subjects?
What an aesthetic time-lapse feature! But is it useful as a productive tool?
its the best productive tool out there, and by far the most secure and private (i don't like giving my personal files do big techs)
its, by nature, very simple, but search about it on youtube and see the wonderful things that people do with it
Y e s . And if you are a developer or a student of math is almost perfect.
It’s the best note taking app for storing knowledge ever made. I am in IT and use it to store info on subjects to share with my team as well as help me study for certifications and it is by far the best documentation and study tool I have ever used
Awesome!
How?
does it feel overwhelming ?
Yes. It does
🤩 how did you make this Timelapse? Is there a plug-in or something?
Hey! No community plugin-- it comes with the Graph core (built-in) plugin in Obsidian. :)
@@nicolevdh Thanks for the answer! I tried it myself, looks amazing but it doesn't seem to grow according to the timeline of note creation? My newer notes are shown first. Is it by design, or could it be because my vault is migrated from Roam and the time of creation was messed up
@@loganhallucinates Have you found the answer ?
Good question btw
@@mikelsuarez1922 No I haven't, let me know if you happen to figure this out!
A planet
How many files is in that vault
Hey! Are you talking about my vault? I have about 8300 notes in my main vault.
I wish I've found this app earlier in life 😅😅😅😅😅😢
Markdown mountain 🥲
how are some bigger than otheres?
The more notes connected to it, the bigger a node gets
Hello is obsidian free? And is it online only?
It is free without syncing and is local, all files are only stored on your device, so completely offline, unless you use their sync or publish features in which case they are stored online but at least in the case of sync, I believe they are encrypted.
Thank you for replying. What do you do so that it won't take too much space in your device?@@conorstewart2214
Free , and "offline" you can setup auto sync with something else like google drive

Glad you liked it!
what are the result of this? do you become a millionaire?
HOW TO MAKE THE ANIMATION?
it's a built-in option within Obsidian.

I still don't understand the purpose of this app
Organizing information, not necessarily remembering information.
Bro ✨👁️👄👁️✨
Its just a nice graph but whats the point??
I see people switching to obsidian just for this
The true question is : "how much time spent for how much money made ?"
Noob alert. Whats ttrpgs?
So what?
(Have you retained this knowledge?)
Is retaining the goal of your knowledge system?
It's...literally right there. That graph, those notes, that IS knowledge, and it's retained right there! Think of it as an external memory, a personal reference system. An encyclopedia of your world.
@@TheGartender It just seems like a lot of mental masturbation. It takes effort and will to recall information. I’d rather optimise my own computer (mind)

I think so too! It's a cool built-in feature that Obsidian has.
How do you get them to be diff colors?
You can change it in the right panel when you open the graph view
