I've had this bust for about 2-3 months now. I'm happy to say I've had no paint flaking issues at all so far, even after rotating the head. I added a small piece of black construction paper anywhere the metal tubes touch the paint. I have to agree with everyone mentioning the eyes are too big... There was something that never seemed right about the bust and then I realized it was the large eyes, they make the skull less large and imposing looking. I have a small fingerprint mark on the back of a piston that's hardly noticeable, and there's some grey overspray on the teeth that I'm ok with since I'm sure the teeth would be stained from heavy battle. Overall I'm really happy with the bust, it's my first non one-sixth scale collectible.
First of all....congrats with this great looking piece! I also have a fingerprint somewhere on the bust. Another flaw in the production process. I'd be careful with putting tape on the bust. But if you'll never take it off it'd be fine I guess. I'm still happy with the purchase but I just wish it'd be better made. The overall quality leaves to be desired..
Congratulations on your new acquisition!! It certainly is a VERY cool addition to your collection and I like how you have chosen to display it with rest of your collection, it really balances things out with your Batman standee....Awesome looking presentation!! Thanks for the video post.
Looks great! I've been on the fence about getting this piece for the longest. I appreciate the fair and honest review. Congrats and thanks for sharing. Peace
Yeah it'll look great in any collection. But please beware of the paintwork if you decide to get it. I've heard stories of people that had paint flaking off without even touching it.
+dfuzeNL That's always in the back if my mind. Recently I've seen pics of the court of the dead Executioner with the same flaking problems. Thanks for the heads up. Peace
+CARTELfromHELL Oh man... I hope it doesn't become a trend. I've read that the new T-800 maquette will have the same finish as the bust. I'm definitely skipping that one.
Yeah it has a great presence and I think that when people come over and see it they'll be impressed. Too bad the overall built quality leaves to be desired...
At least the chest pistons are in the right places . I would change the philips head screws for larger Allan key bolts . None of the sideshow life side are perfect but you can get it there your self
Thanks mate! I'm not interested in much this year so this is one of the few videos I'll post unfortunately. But I just got something special in. I'm definitely going to do a short video on that. So stay tuned :)
They eyes do look a bit big but honestly they look good. I just got my T800 1:1 head again that I had in 2007 just like you have. The eyes are smaller but like I said it doesn't look bad on the bigger bust.
+Solaire Astora I've seen a video where a guy actually did that. But I'm not going near it again. Afraid to touch it...so I won't be putting any lights in it. I think the OGRM looks great. Not a big fan of the base though. But the rest looks great. Too bad it's not a licensed product. I'm not that in to recasted stuff.
Sold out at SideShow! I'm half thinking of getting into the 'Build the Terminator' part works but have seen mixed reports re. quality. Like you, I'd love the full scale but that's way beyond my pay grade 😁😁.
i really wonder if the brain chip is removable on this, i heard sideshow ones can do, is it only half size endo skull? or does all 1:1 endo skull and 1:1 bust endo have the feature
Really awesome review and fair. Its strange why SS made the eyes bugger on this one. I think you nailed it by saying if your a hardcore terminator fan that wants accuracy, prob best to avoid. If your a terminator fan that wants a really imposing, awesome looking endo, then go for it.
Thanks man! Yeah I don't know why the eyes on this piece are bigger than on the other bust. They've made quite a few busts so you would think they know how to get it right....
Buddy I have to disagree with your mentioned problem about the paint ...there is no issue with the paint at all and I promise you there will be no paint flaking in the future with that bust ...I own one of this T800 life size bust as well and all I can say it's absolutely painted top notch ...I'm a professional painter myself buddy and yours has just a factory issue and you should have returned it to get a replacement ...ps it's 100% the T1 T-800 from 1984 even the eyes were bigger at the first Endo it's all fine except the teeth but those are easily to get weathered ;)
Bucephallos I'm not the only one that has this problem. Although the paintwork looks great it's not well applied. I also own the older T-800 bust and that one is painted way better than this. Not in terms of looks but just the way the paint is applied. This bust just scratches really easily...like I said I'm not the only one that has this problem. The other busts at my retailer all had problems. I picked the one with the least amount of problems and still the paint came of rather easily at some parts. You don't have to be a professional painter to see that it's not as good as their older busts.
Bucephallos Look man...I didn't mean to come across as a dick. We're just two people with different opinions. I just react to things from my own personal experience, my point of view and stories of others. You've got to imagine that I was really looking forward to this bust and it's also my most expensive piece to date. My expectations were very high and they were shattered when I found out about the issues. Issues that were confirmed by others as well. So I was pissed...and to this day it still bugs me. But I've learned to live with it and now I really appreciate the look that it has in my collection. Now I'm like fuck it....I've got a part of a lifesize Endoskeleton in my house. And when people come over and see it they're in awe. So yeah... If you've got a good one I'm happy for you and I'm sure it looks fantastic in your collection.
Cool to see a new vid of you buddy! The piece has def. a presence looking at it right next to you and from a distance. The detail problems are uncool, and would def. bug me as well. It's a shame...the sculpt is so damn nice...maybe the only way to get it fully perfect would be to make a full repaint.
Thanks Andre! Yes it's been a while :) Not interested in a lot these days. Especially with all the price increases. Yeah it's a great looking bust and I don't regret getting it but I'd be nice if it was perfect. You kinda expect that especially for the price I paid. I was thinking about a full repaint but the costs would be enormous so I don't think I'll ever do that.
Nice vid and great honest review... real pity about the build and paint quality, would have most likely bought this piece otherwise as I think it does look very nice even with all the design discrepancies. With the paint issues (that many have also reported) I now wouldn't go near it - too expensive a piece for paint to be flaking off. Such a pity. Cheers.
Yeah it does look great. I knew all the things coming in but I still got it. Thinking that it couldn't be that bad. But I've learned the hard way. But I still don't regret my decision to keep it. It just looks so damn cool in my collection :)
Hello. All of your figures are form Hot Toys. But i see General Maximus there ... From Hot Toys ? I am almost certain that Hot Toys never released that figure .
One complaint I do have is the paint work on the brain chip. It looks very amateurish in my opinion and looks globbed on. The brain chip should have been clean and sharp and not look so sloppy. I almost want to strip the paint and redo it myself.
Wow you are way too picky about the tiny paint scratch! You do realize how easy it is to color match that scratch with modeling paints? That is not even a real chrome look so it would even be really easy to re paint the whole thing yourself in 5-10 years and make it look exactly the same,LOL!
I was just surprised how easy it came off. That's what made me worried. And sure it's very easy to paint the whole thing and make it look exactly the same...lol...Come on man....it's not. Have you seen the paint work in person?
@@dfuzeNL There are new paints that look exactly like chrome, look up molotow chrome burner or Spazstix chrome or easy chrome or even alsa Chrome then all you gotta do is add splotches of what looks like rust,LOL too easy dude!

looks awesome man I like the paint finish and I can see how it has elements of different versions but still it's a good look
Yeah it looks great. Too bad the paintwork leaves to be desired.

Thanks! A lot of thought went in to how to display this piece and where. That's also another reason why I decided to keep it.
Looks great! I've been on the fence about getting this piece for the longest. I appreciate the fair and honest review. Congrats and thanks for sharing. Peace

+dfuzeNL not to mention the maquette is pretty small!
+jerman2003 and incredibly expensive for what it is...
looks pretty nice to me mate. at the end of the day when everyone sees it in person they will love it. might have to go watch T1 now. hehe
Yeah it has a great presence and I think that when people come over and see it they'll be impressed.

I think it actually looks better from the side than it does from the front.
nice to see that your back man, keep bringing new material. I am always looking out for you brother, peace take care.

hello..late reply.. so this head skull is also painted or chromed?....
Very cool
Thanks! :)
+dfuzeNL Are you gonna put blue led lights on it? And What do you think about the OGRM Terminator Torso bust?
+Solaire Astora I've seen a video where a guy actually did that. But I'm not going near it again. Afraid to touch it...so I won't be putting any lights in it.
I think the OGRM looks great. Not a big fan of the base though. But the rest looks great. Too bad it's not a licensed product. I'm not that in to recasted stuff.
+dfuzeNL Yeah totally get your point :)
I wish they would re release the T2 bust, really don't want to pay 2-3 thousand on ebay lol
Very honest review, thanks. How is the paint holding up after nearly 4 years of ownership?
Surprisingly well I must say. But I haven't moved it since. I also barely touch it only for occasional dusting. I'm still happy I've got it.
Good to hear 👍.
Are you thinking about picking one up?

Yeah its puzzling for sure. I think you chose wise in keeping it. Its not perfect but its a dam fine, large looking endo. Enjoy buddy =)
+gypsycatcha79 Thanks mate!

I love that bust man. Great close up footage. Really enjoyed the video buddy!
Thanks Dean! Much appreciated! :)

If I had the $$ and the space to display a bust like this I'd have one. My wife wouldn't necessarily like it.
Need it
Just can't afford it lol 😭😭

You're right about that. It's a good thing that chip is in the head and not noticeable ;)
