As someone who doesn't know anything about the show, it still looks like an incredible figure! Its still instantly recognizably as Flash, it's still hot toys quality, and that head sculpt is still top notch (my favourite thing about hot toys is realistic heads). And boy do I hope magnetic heads become the norm for all figures because that range of motion on it looks so satisfying! Great vid once again Justin!
That color difference definitely bothers me but still happy to have a cw flash for the collection. And SooSoo hinted in a Facebook comment that they were waiting for this to come out so that they would know what dimensions to make a reverse flash. So hopefully we will be getting a reverse flash from them.
I was hoping that they would have used a more recent suit instead of using the suit from the earlier seasons. I think this figure’s suit is from season 2 of the flash cause it has the Tachyon prototype device which he used to cross over into Supergirl’s universe in her season 1.
From mid season 1(that Arrow Crossover) and any later depiction of this costume is the same. They tweaked the mask and the sides by midseason 1 but after that no more changes to the main suit itself. Then you have the season 4 suit. Probably for the best they didn't use the most recent suit as this upcoming season we get the gold boots. The current design style has been tweaked nearly every season either with the cowl or torso. There's a new design nearly every season starting with 4.
I'm glad you finally got to review this figure. It was highly anticipated by me and I was wondering how good or bad it was gonna turn out. Glad to see it's actually a pretty good figure. The difference in the color on the suit does not bother me much at all. The head sculpts to me are pretty good as well. Can't wait to have him with my SooSooToys Zoom and Green Arrow. SooSooToys needs to come out with a Reverse Flash. Then I'll have him with his top 2 villains. Eagerly anticipating the rest of the CW figures from these 3rd party companies like Batgirl and Supergirl and finally have a complete set.
All they have to do to make up for people disappointed in this is give us Jay Garrick, that jacket is so badass it excites me everytime he pops up in the show.
As a fan of the series (dark red suit is my favourite) this is a massive failure and just puts me off. If they would have fixed that horrible bright red/ fixed that horrible black stitching (show be a shade), plus ankle boot split.... This would be perfect. Everything else is great and at angles.... Spot on. Have this on PO fully paid off and do need him for my alternative JL set up. But will have to look into changing that bright red.... Paint it or something else. Overall.... Failure for hot toys and to get these colours wrong..... Is no excuse. Appears HT have rushed this and shown zero love by the creators. Great review and thanks for showing. Justine..... Love the ss can't comparison 🙂..... What we want. Plus that third party green arrow will make people buy both. Otherwise they would have ignored the flash.

after that quick comparison of both Hot Toys and Soosoo versions of Flash, the Soosoo head looks a tad big on his body but looks great on the Hot Toys one, go figure. And what is up with not doing a split cut boot. We've seen them to it for other more complicated boot designs. Thanks Justin!

As a fan of the flash I am jaw dropped how amazing this is Edit: now finishing the video they definitely made it to baggy and the colours are a bit off Another edit: I still love the face and mask and it looks even better with the cowl off on the piece
Just got the figure, I am not posing it until my birthday but I looked at it and held it, the blogger photos did the figure dirty. Headsculpt looks great, masked one looks pretty good, but not the best. Colours aren’t as drastic or colourful as photos make them appear. So glad I got the figure
Just got my hands on this figure. Gotta say it looks a lot better in hand than in the photos. The colours are still off, but the head sculpt ain’t that bad. And the lighting effects are freaking awesome. No regrets since I got it from a low price at $1250 HKD
Would have been all over this figure years ago during the first couple of seasons when the show was at its peak. It’s lost it’s magic for me now it’s all about the DCEU Flash doing forward. Great review Justin.
Since it has both colored symbols and the updated cowl I’d say it’s based of mid season 1- ssn3 and that sstoys head is more round like how the cowl is in the first couple episodes
I was looking forward to this item, but after watching the review I’ll be passing on it. The costume looks awful and the head sculpts are a miss. The unmasked portrait looks like a Computer generated (cg) version of Grant and not completely accurate. Congrats to those who do like it.

I loved loved the 1st 2 1/2 plus Seasons of CW's The Flash and Grant Gustin's portrayal of The Flash / Barry Allen despite the shows flaws has always been great and is my Flash. I do plan on getting this Hot Toys 1/6th Scale figure of Grant's Flash very soon. Hopefully this if it sells well leads to more CW DCTV Arrowverse 1/6th Scale Figures being made like Green Arrow , White Canary Sara Lance , Supergirl both suits Seasons 1-4 and Seasons 5 and 6 plus Superman from Superman & Lois. Hey Justin! I was wondering where I could get my hands on a CW Flash Figure like this one for a decent price. Where do you get your figures. I have been watching the series for a very long time now.
The helmet is also way too thick on hot toys, besides the likeness that is, average at best, on the helmeted head. And the fact that this specific suit already existed for around 7 years at least and hot toys somehow can't make this accurate to the show, it's amazing 🤣.

Great Review Justin. Man I think I totally dodged a bullet by cancelling my pre order back in 2020😂 I’m a huge Flash fan but I think the face is a bit off which pretty much ruins the whole figure. The suit colour scheme seems was fine until you pointed it out, I think the darker red is to dark and needed to be lighter
Yeah the brighter red is a little off for the suit but I actually still digging the figure especially after you paired him up with the Soosootoys Green Arrow that I also have... can't wait to get mine i finished my payment two days ago

The colour difference is unforgivably inaccurate - so easily fixed that Hot Toys no real excuse for it, I've already seen re-painted suits on Facebook and the difference is incredible. The lack of the split-boot just goes to show how little thought was put into this. The helmeted sculpt is a clear difference from the prototype and has lost it's Gustin appearance. As for the full Gustin sculpt - while not abysmal, it is straying into "weird photoshopped version of a human" for me.

Oh man! I wanted this figure but I can’t stand the black lines on chest or the big red color change in the suit from fabric to pleather. Unmasked head sculpt is pretty good. And the flexible fabric on knees and elbows is great too. To bad Hot Toys messed up this up enough for me to pass. Thanks for the review, I always trust your info.
