    In my haste to finish up this video, I completely failed to mention the name of the brown ink: it translates to something like: "Small Memories of an Ordinary Day", which I absolutely love. Usually I'd go for a warmer brown, but the combination of the color and flow along with the green sheen make it one of my favorites, now!

    Hi Everyone! I've been sick for the past week, so I'm sorry about my voice in this video! I didn't want to put it off for another week and get further behind 🙂 I've re-posted the link to my ink-store map in the video description, so don't forget to check it out if you haven't already... especially if you're going to Japan!

      I have certainly appreciated all the inks you have gotten. I personally would love to get a Sailor vase bottle, empty or full of ink. Do you think it would be available here or online?

    • @thewetpen
      @thewetpen  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@paulmchugh1430 Thanks! I don't think that you'll find any Sailor vase bottles in the US, but you might be able to find a Japanese shop that is willing to ship them. Needless to say, it will not be cheap. There's a chance that the Stationery Station (from the previous video) will ship their vase bottles... they have a pretty solid website. Not sure about Ancora, but it might be worth a shot.

    Whoa, you traveled far for that brown ink! I also got that navy ink in ancora to commemorate hiking mt fuji - it’s so pretty ❤

    • @thewetpen
      @thewetpen  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, that one was a little off the beaten path :-) The Navy is actually only the first of five or six bottles of ink with Fuji packaging that I ended up getting on this trip! I spent a good amount of time looking at Mt. Fuji, but didn't take the time to actually climb it... that will have to be a future trip, I guess 🙂

    I love your series and definitely planned my Japan trip (I just got back a few days ago) around some of the stores you visited last time! When I went to Itoya they told me the Romeo cocktail inks are only at their Motomachi store in Yokohama now where they mix it for you when you order (unless I misunderstood them). I trekked there and grabbed a couple bottles :). I visited Ancōra and grabbed their rainy day ink!

    • @thewetpen
      @thewetpen  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nice! I wish that I'd known about the Motomachi store and the cocktail inks... that's the second time I've heard about it in the comment section here, but I didn't take the time to check the store on this trip. I guess I did OK anyway :-) Is the rainy day ink the same one that was in the case in my video here (marked as "Not for Sale" at 2:40)? Or is it something else?

    • @shetalksrocks
      @shetalksrocks 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yep, the one at 2:40 that they sell only on rainy days. There isn’t too much else that jumped out as being exclusive in the Motomachi store, but I do appreciate that it was a more peaceful shopping experience 😂

    I love these videos you make of your Japan ink hauls! I used the videos from your first trip to inform my own Japan trip last year, and watching you explore these different stores will definitely help me out on my next one.
    I’m not sure if you ever found these because in the first video you did mention you had business in Yokohama (and I’m sure they’re pretty similar to other colours found in other places) but if you do ever make another trip to Japan in the future, there’s 3 or 4 inks that are Yokohama Bay themed sold in the Yurindo in Yokohama station, and there’s an Itoya location in Motomachi that lets you order custom Romeo inks from a menu that are based on places around the city. I’ve found not a lot of people ever talk about these stores when they talk about exclusive inks, so I thought I’d let you and everyone else who might visit the area know.
    (ps Yokohama Station sucks to navigate, but this Yurindo was awful to find. The store itself takes up one corner of the station but is split into multiple different stores that cater to your specific needs. The specific Yurindo you’re looking for is one that sells just stationery I think, but my memory isn’t great and I just remember being really lost when I found it. Sorry these directions are really bad, and good luck to anyone who decides to try to look for them)

    • @thewetpen

    I followed the Instagram pages of the major Tokyo stationery stores before our trip to Japan, and learned that Ancora has a few special inks that are only on sale during certain weather events... like their rainy day color. It also was what talked me out of going to Ancora, since all their special release pens end up being sold out in a a few days, so it just wasn't worth trying to cram it into our schedule.

      I don't understand Japanese, unfortunately. Generally, if you're in a shop that's selling an exclusive ink, it will say "Sailor" somewhere on the box... though there might also be a sticker on the box covering the main Sailor logo. You'll get to recognize the shape of the Sailor bottles and caps pretty quickly, too... but the box is always the giveaway.
