- Explore Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park, the home of the rarest orchid in the world, the Ghost orchid, from the comfort of your own living room. Winner of 3 Telly awards in nature video documentary, "Catching the Fak-a-habit" shares the Everglades, the orchid capital of the U. S., and the largest strand swamp in the world with the viewer without the worry of stepping on an alligator or cottonmouth, without getting a single mosquito bite.

Awesome! Long live the Everglades!
Hi Jay, I have photographed the Green Swamp in Central Florida many times. I really like this video. Thanks for posting
Remarkable! Great video!
Thanks for the comment. It's a great place. Your work is very good.
Yes. It is a water moccasin, or cottonmouth.
I saw a longer version of this, is this available somewhere?
HEY JAY, THAT'S FABULOUS! MAY I PUT IT ON OUR NEW WEBSITE?
Gorgeous! What camera did you use?
+WILD THINGS Hello. I use a Sony EX1. It produces great color, contrast, and is true HD. The footage is so good and deep that some of my footage from the camera appears in the latest Nation Geographic special on The Everglades.
JAY STATON Wow, that's a real honor. How is the zoom on that camera?
Not great. Only to about 390mm.
JAY STATON What is the earliest you can enter the park?
It is open from dawn to dusk.
is that a water mocasin towards the end??
how can I find this video "Catching the Fak a Habit"?
Fantastic job. I love it there. If your interested you can see some of my videos of the Fakahatchee strand and Big Cypress I have had the pleasure of doing at Flhiker's channel here. Not nearly as professional as yours.
Hey girl. Please do. Thanks. ;-)
