For those looking to go EV, we recently did a feature on the 2021 Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric P8 Link to video: th-cam.com/video/YM80sawAFRE/w-d-xo.html
I got my 2021 XC40 T5 R-Design in January, and I LOVE IT! 🥰 I went with the Thunder Grey metallic. It's gorgeous and luxurious, and it drives like a dream.
I looked at its competition, and came back to xc40 t5, 3 times.. I love it. I had a benz, and a mitsubishi outlander and this tops both.. your right, dynamic is smoother, and the 20 in tires stand out. Interior is nice, but lincoln cross Interior is pure luxury. Im 5'10 200, and very comfortable front and rear. Great review.
Bruh... That price is insane. In the USA you can get a lease on the XC40 t5 Momentum with $4k in options for just $403 a month and a $2500 down payment. Feelsbadman.
@@hazmatcinemaxxx Unfortunately here it is like when we buy a car for ourselves we also give another one to the government as a GIFT. When we buy more luxury cars we give two cars to the government.
Brilliant car. Nice review, but you did not refer to the clumsy gear shifter. This with the removal of the paddle shifters (2020 model had them) was a deal breaker for me. What on earth were they thinking to remove the paddles? Otherwise this car is the top of its class. Damn you Volvo for the paddles. I would have bought it in January.
I think the XC40 looks bigger than it actually is because of the higher roofline. The interior is a bit more spacious than some vehicles of the same size, but it definitely falls under the category of being a subcompact crossover, at least for today’s standards.
I find it funny that these crossover cars like the xc40, BMW X1, and the Mercedes GLA250 get called "luxury" but cost $7-$10 thousand more than a top trim Mazda CX-5 and ultimately have less added features. Since when did luxury mean "less"? The temperature controls being on a touch screen is easily one of the dumbest design decisions I've ever seen. How unsafe is that?
I don't like vertical screen. It's really dangerous to look down and touch anything while driving. Most companies make horizontal screen for this reason. I thought Volvo has a great reputation for keeping safety in mind. What happen?
This is the issue I'm having too. I can get a fully loaded CX-5 with vented seats, HUD, UV-protected windows, dial-controlled infotainment etc, and everything that is on the premium trim for this vehicle for less than this R-Series Volvo. I've driven my Mazda into the ground and it just keeps on going. They aren't without their faults -- they have a lot of cabin noise as they age, for instance, and the adhesive on my dash came loose and part of it is gaped -- it was recalled though.
Oct. 2021 go price your Honda Ex Hybrids, Subaru Limited, Hold on to your pants because it will be at a very nicely equipped Volvo XC 40. Nobody can say they use Boran Steel for the frame cage. No one HAS a GOAL of NO DEATHS, Volvo does. Volvo doesn't strain passing, Volvo doesn't strain going up hills. Shock yourself people ,,I WAS, I order VOLVO with a smile on my face. And Never, Never did the salesman ever try to pull dealer sneaky add ons or slip me a add on with no price on that he says is done automatically. Very nicely equipped Momentum is the same price as the Japanese Supply and demand price gaugers. Remember NO ONE makes the statements VOLVO does.

u have good taste
Kristen I just bought my wife the same car in a 2022 in Thunder Grey, she loves it.
It's beautiful 😍. Enjoy!
Great review! I do believe though that those are 2 usb-c connections in the rear and not a 2-prong outlet.
You are correct, and I faced palmed when I rewatched that
Good review, we’ll articulated, strong information delivery. Also very good video and audio quality. Nice one

Once you drive a V, you never accept any other car as such... I can attest to that and about to lease mine soon too
Thanks for you insight. But a quick question, I haven't seen the head up display, is there any ?
Thanks for doing the back room review. Most reviewers ignore that and focus on the front.
which do you like; XC-40 T-5 248 HP/GLA 221HP/Acura RDX 272 HP 10 Speed
Two questions… Can you put 87 octane in it? And what is the driver seat comfort level like?
No you cannot. 91 minimum octane.
I just like watching these videos becauseI’m getting a Volvo XC40 For my 16th birthday and I’m gonna pay half of it
Is it true that the XC40 does not offer Am/FM radio? Great review!
I have this model and mine has an HD FM / AM radio.
@@Creamybokeh Aha! Now, I get it!
Great indepth review!
Nobody says if this car has a twin or single scroll turbo. It must be Volvo's best kept secret.
You can often get these cheaper at the dealships
I was trying to decide between white and red interior so I just got a mix of both
The car is comfort full space quality good bravo Volvo
Nice Review...Luv mine.
Because of extremely high taxes in Turkey, we only have the XC40 T3 (3 cylinders/163hp) which is around 70,000 USD :(

Does it take regular gas or premium????
premium is required on the T5.
Great video sir, thank you.
I’ve had my ‘21 inscription for a few months now and I’ve been so disappointed and I feel like no ones talking about a lot of the issues it has.
My brain died at two pronged outlet, and I'm fucking hammered drunk
Those are 2 USB-C 😅
Definitely going to be a part of my blooper reel at the end of the year lol
i want to buy this model in whitewith black roof unfortunately unavailable in BC SURREY
Order in advance
I take exception to calling this vehicle a sub-compact. Does it feel like that to you?

This is a really good looking car, waiting to see what Acura’s subcompact suv will look like
They have one already and it’s based off the hrv but with Acura tech and exterior in other countries 👀
