This is a stunning throwback song to classic murder ballads. The lyrics and music are hauntingly beautiful and poetic, the visuals on top complement the song by incorporating Vanitas imagery. All those little souns, that would be random, but are actually there to help paint a bigger picture of the times and the area this story is taking place in. A piece of art for the ages!
I swear I fell off the bed when I heard this in Euphoria. I've been listening to Cocorosie since I was twelve and I never thought I'd be hearing their songs in a popular teen series
Beautifully photographed video. The colors, the settings, the costumes - everything. And it all gives me these serious Edgar Allen Poe or Nathaniel Hawthorne.
Those 'Sisters of Art' ... touched me in a way so deep that I didnt think possible... What is there about them that I can't stop listening to their albums...
It was just before the moon hung Her weary, heavy hating the gallows and the graves hold the milky, milky cradle His tears have turned to poppies shimmer in the midnight Flower in the twilight a Flower in the twilight And our screaming is in his screaming our screaming in the willow They took him to the gallows, He fought them all the way though, And When they asked us how we knew his name We died just before him our eyes are in the flowers our hands are in the branches our voices in the breezes And our screaming is in his screaming our screaming in the willow tree We're waiting by the willow our milky, milky cradle our lockets long have rusted his picture worn and weathered our hair is in the garden our voices in mitosis our wombs are in the blossoms our arms are in the branches And our screaming is in his screaming our screaming in the willow tree And our screaming is in his screaming our screaming in the willow
I just need to say that I have been listening to these amazingly talented women for years and years now.....they are before their time along with this video...I amd hope within the next year they come to the states or I will just have to be patient enough to see them spiritually from the other side regardless as long as I get to see them
Accidentally came across this group (thank you algorithms, I guess?) I have to say (old 80s goth/dark wave guy here) COCOROSIE is amazing! I guess I'm about 10 years behind listening to this band, but will definitiely follow.
Felt the same way like 15 years ago when Maison de Mon Reve first came out. Even though it was brand new, I felt behind the times. Werewolf, Beautiful Boys, and Rainbow Warriors are my favourites.
Been listening to this probably since it came out. I love everything about cocorosie. So much nostalgia for me every time. This song is great for Halloween... Or any spooky night 😇
I will explain to those who don't understand. A man loved two women, and they loved him too. In short, he was executed for "marrying" both of them, so they drank poison to kill themselves, so they could meet under the tree in death.
I just discovered this song while putting together a Hallowe’en playlist and it’s really captured my heart. Such a mysterious atmosphere- creepy but not morbid and a bit Tim Burton-esque.
Well this is the first time I've ever "experienced" something like this, I cant say just listened because the video definitely adds to that eerie, unsettling mood. Very interesting, but now for some reason I feel scared.
For me ... Mass conscensus justice of groups of people is SCARY , Necessary but also many times uncompormising . The three here broke the norms of conservative traditional morals , so only in death could they be together .
Well I'm pretty sure that was the scariest thing I've ever seen/heard, but I know I'll watch it over and over again completely entranced for at least a half an hour, lol.
The initial melody starting at 3:06 is almost identical to James Newton Howard composition "The Gravel Road" from M. Night Shyamalan's The Village Such a beautiful song, to both.
@RobotWhaleE I think they hare half white and half native american (cherokee) because in one of their shows, their mother was on stage and she was singing in cherokee
Weeping willow, won't you wallow louder....? No more breathing time, an ambulance sped. It sped 'round every corner, calling out his name.... This song makes me think of some of their other songs...
13 years later I'm still listening and appreciating this video so much.

Makes me shiver every time.
I absolutely adore this song.
Yes my fave forever lol
the storyline is so sad and beautiful. I hope they can all live happily in love in the afterlife at the end
I swear I fell off the bed when I heard this in Euphoria. I've been listening to Cocorosie since I was twelve and I never thought I'd be hearing their songs in a popular teen series
Same I was SHOOK
So did I
Sameeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Same!
this is gonna force me to watch the show 😫
Beautifully photographed video. The colors, the settings, the costumes - everything. And it all gives me these serious Edgar Allen Poe or Nathaniel Hawthorne.
Yes 4 sure
Those 'Sisters of Art' ... touched me in a way so deep that I didnt think possible... What is there about them that I can't stop listening to their albums...
Spirits.
Have you ever felt so peaceful and excited at the same time? they bring me this kind of feeling like chills I just love it!
Years go by and this is still a beautiful piece of art.
I am so in love with this. It gives me an amazing sense of deja vu, as though I had seen in long before I was aware of its existence...
Me too. I believe that I was taken tongue gallows and hanged in a past life.
It was just before the moon hung
Her weary, heavy hating
the gallows and the graves hold
the milky, milky cradle
His tears have turned to poppies
shimmer in the midnight
Flower in the twilight
a Flower in the twilight
And our screaming
is in his screaming
our screaming in
the willow
They took him to the gallows,
He fought them all the way though,
And When they asked us how we knew his name
We died just before him
our eyes are in the flowers
our hands are in the branches
our voices in the breezes
And our screaming
is in his screaming
our screaming in
the willow tree
We're waiting by the willow
our milky, milky cradle
our lockets long have rusted
his picture worn and weathered
our hair is in the garden
our voices in mitosis
our wombs are in the blossoms
our arms are in the branches
And our screaming
is in his screaming
our screaming in
the willow tree
And our screaming
is in his screaming
our screaming in
the willow
Thank you for this 💛
thnks!
Sierra and Bianca are beautiful angels with the voices of sirens.
One of the most beautiful music videos . Like a fairytale ❤️
I find this poetic...not creepy as some said it was, in my opinion. This is a very good song and artistic video. Thanks for the upload!
Creepy? Rather boring instead.
Poetic & beautifully eerie ✨🖤✨
I just need to say that I have been listening to these amazingly talented women for years and years now.....they are before their time along with this video...I amd hope within the next year they come to the states or I will just have to be patient enough to see them spiritually from the other side regardless as long as I get to see them

Sorry, just realised I've commented already. Worth two comments though 😊🤟
The song is amazing and the visuals are breathtaking. For example 0:57 is a perfect example of Western/ American Gothic. Wow
I always listen to the song in the credits of Euphoria cause their song choices are always interesting. Thanks for showing me this one.
Absolutely breaking taking and heart breaking, i adore it!

Maravilloso 🔥🔥🔥
Pure magic,
This song was on Euphoria after a Scene with Jules and Rue. After Jules told Rue that she can love more the one person.
I just discovered this song while putting together a Hallowe’en playlist and it’s really captured my heart. Such a mysterious atmosphere- creepy but not morbid and a bit Tim Burton-esque.
D: this is... this is... FLAWLESS, speachless rite now.
i love cocorosie♥

also, i really enjoy reading about the back story of this song. very emotional.
so good.
Not sure why but my tear started to run down my face while listening to this song....scary.
I remember watching this video a long time ago and then doing a photo shoot portraying Bianca and Sierra, it was my favorite photo shoot ever.
The initial melody starting at 3:06 is almost identical to James Newton Howard composition "The Gravel Road" from M. Night Shyamalan's The Village

This is out of this world.
Reminds me of dark stuff from Nine, Cabaret Voltiare, Bjork, Massive Attack, Tricky, PJ Harvey, Unkle, Portishead, AllFlaws
Коко Роузи - это реально, как будто нетфликс снял фильм про АукцЫон. Даже свой Гаркуша есть
Ice creaaaammm, ice creaaammm.

Gives me the creeps, and I cant stop wacth or listening..... :(
Gothic meets ethereality...Billie Holliday's Strange Fruit.
