    I usually find a way to be offensive every single day.

    Sun Tzu said: The good fighters of old first put themselves beyond the possibility of defeat, and then waited for an opportunity of defeating the enemy. Security against defeat implies defensive tactics; ability to defeat the enemy means taking the offensive.

      Yeah but the war on terrorism isn’t the same sort of war. Terrorist insergencies are never gonna conquer America. It’s by nature an offensive war.

      War is an organized battle, compare to terrorism who opposes the rules of war this making them idk, I didn't know anything.

      @@nathanemslie9972 Incorrect. Terrorist insurgencies win by defeating us politically. They do not have the goal of defeating us militarily, by maneuver warfare, which is impossible through terrorism. The very definition of terrorism is to attack civilian populations for political ends.

    • @wolfsfroth
      @wolfsfroth 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nathanemslie9972 We must place ourselves beyond the possibility of defeat *politically*, since it is politically that they attempt to defeat us. Liberal democracy is our weakness. That is where they attack us. We must place ourselves beyond liberal democracy. That is the evolution of warfare.

    Thank you , Sir. It was splendid. Many people struggle prioritizing things in their lives. I believe the military does it better than anyone. Waiting for a video on that.

    have you any advice on the following situation:
    a friend of mine, has a boss who takes any suggestions for improvments as a personal afront. Since the boss feels not accepted by its employeess and supervisors/CIO, the boss immediately feels threatened when offered a solution which come not from his own.
    But situation is also like this: there are no solutions, only sentences like "i have no time" "i have no ressources".
    Even if my friend provies solutions for situation with reduced ressources, he gets blown away.
    What should he do?

    "We win every battle but lose th war" never thought that a US military would have such a view.

    Ok, got a video topic for ya. With the recent police shootings in Philadelphia and subsequent rioting in response, the level of faith, respect, and positive attitude toward the Police are at a all time low. What would you suggest be implemented to improve the structure, operations, and training of our municipal police departments?

    Boy, this list of principles sure spells out why the US Armed Forces are great battle winners and awful "real war" losers. First of all, these principles of war are focused on the military supply-side of warfare and not on the political demand-side. This leads to the second point: for all the teaching of Clausewitz in US military schools, why isn't his most fundamental principle listed here? That is none other than to fight wars in a profitable manner--not unlike a commercial business firm, although the costs and benefits of wars can involve much more than money. But hey, highly unprofitable wars from a strategic perspective can be great for the profits of defense contractors and military careers. So, I guess it makes sense for career-minded officers to ignore Clausewitz when developing such a list of principles. Nevertheless, the strategic imperative of profitability explains why so many of these seemingly eternal principles of war must be violated to either lower the war's human and financial costs or enhance its political and economic benefits. For example, no, you may not want mass effects or surprise in a battle if it will lead to heavy local civilian losses that will jeopardize a crucial tribal alliance. So, you may achieve a more profitable outcome by deploying less firepower (and possibly endure heavier losses in your own combat units) to maintain that significant political benefit.
