Damn. Even when Patrick Willis was getting blocked, he still managed to catch up with Johnson. He had great hustle and speed for his position and size.
He couldnt catch johnson.... when Willis was getting blocked Johnson was getting held up, if ypu couldn't catch him in that instance you shouldn't be a starter

@@12jmlnv7 no no man im not saying its not impressive at all Willis was better than most any LB definitely. I just mean even if your faster than someone you will rarely catch them from behind unless running a long distance and Johnson was the fastest or at least top 3 in nfl. But watching people like Willis Johnson is a sight to see
I'm guessing you didn't see Chris Johnson leave Patrick Willis in the dust on this 81 yard touchdown run, here 3:52, that was called back huh? Yes, Pat Willis was probably the fastest LB in the NFL at the time, but he was, also, one of the best at taking angles and cutting off faster guys, which is actually the case, here, with CJ2k. Don't get it twisted, couldn't match Chris Johnson speed for speed at all.
@@realest1006 Nobody thinks Willis was faster than Johnson. But I think the impressive thing is the effort on every play. Even when he didn't/couldn't make the play he was the man was still working like he could. 20 yards behind CJ on the play you mentioned & still didn't slow up until CJ crossed the line lol.
Faxs them boys was killin pwill my favorite lb of all time n bowman was sideline to sideline definitely one of the best duos. that injury messed Bowman up wish they could of played more years together. Niner Gang!
Patrick Willis is what happens when you combine Ray Lewis' size, hitting power, and tackling ability with Brian Urlachers' zone ability, mental game, and initial-break speed. The dude was the absolute complete Linebacker.
That play from 6:57-7:03 is why Patrick Willis is a HOFer in my opinion. I don’t think people realize not only how hard of a play that was but also the closing speed he had to run CJ down that quickly in open space at that size. It’s crazy
That bihh CJ2k was amazingly fast. Sonic speed. Also had incredible vision out the backfield. P Willis in his prime was unfair Athletically. Like the Adrian Peterson of Linebackers in terms of athleticism.
This is a nice preview of Jaylen Sneed(LB, Notre Dame) vs Treyveon Henderson(RB, OSU and likely Heisman-favorite in both 22' & 23') in the opener for both programs, later this summer. 💯☘️😎
I miss these old school do-it-all, sideline to sideline, thumper style linebackers that gets 20 tackles per game like it’s nothing and go head up with guards and tackles effortlessly. Nowadays these guys are just oversized safeties and gets ran over and road grated, smh. Great video, we need more LB Vs RBs.
Chris Johnson’s speeds reminds me a lot like Tyreeke Hill and the QB for the Ravens. If you don’t catch them within the first 5-10 yards after they take off, there’s literally no way in hell you’ll even get near them after that point.
I was at that game ! My first ever candlestick 49ers game. Remember he dominated our D as every other one… 4:30 especially that play as i was sitting in the stands behind that endzone corner… not a pleasant memory
This just made sad about not being able to watch the Titans at Nissan Stadium this year :( Regardless, this matchup was amazing, one speedy running back with great vision vs. one fast and powerful linebacker
hall of fame is a joke for not putting willis in the hall of fame by now. dude was the undisputed best player at his position for basically his entire career.
Chris Johnson got his yards, but Patrick Willis was all over the place. When he had his hands on you, you went down. He didn't miss many tackles. He should be a HoFer in my opinion. I know his career wasn't super long, but what he did in the time he played was phenomenal. He probably would have had a DPoY if SF was better in his early years.
CJ2K had probably the most effortless stride/speed the NFL has ever seen. They call it deceptive speed because when he is running it doesnt even look like he is really trying, almost looks like a jog. I would say he is as explosive as tyreek hill, definitely not as quick but much better track speed
I think Chris Johnson underestimated how fast Willis was this game. There were plays where he should have hit the gas a half second sooner than he did and that’s what got him caught. Still put up 160 yards & 2 TDs. That was an overall great game though, the Titans that year almost made history if it wasn’t for those damn Chargers.
No other linebacker in the history of the game would have been able to chase down and make open field tackles of a prime Chris Johnson like Willis did in this game.
patrick willis and luke luke kuechly were the best of that era kuechly was bigger but willis was faster. kuechly is little better having the dpoy but he played longer than willis so who knows.
Willis was great and if didnt retire early was on a path to have a career as good as ray Lewis maybe without the rings but he was the closet thing I've ever seen to a ray Lewis type MLB
Its a shame, ref with glasses in lower rt corner of screen 6 yards from play with clear birdseye view of foot on out of bounds line. Had no intention of calling that play. Obviously crooked non call on official
FreeTay K-47 Impressive indeed. Imagine having to chase down CJ2k in his prime. Just look at the long td he had in this game! One of the fastest in game players of all time. 4.24 speed. Countless 80+ rushing tds. P Willis was fast as fuck though damn.
Are Chris Johnson and Patrick Willis HOFers? 🤔
Willis, yes ,CJ2K...I have doubts but have arguments
Yes
Only willis
They let anybody into the Hall of fame lol .... Chris Johnson definitely shouldn’t be in the HOF smh
Willis definitely is and CJ2K he’ll get in Titans HOF lol that’s about it. Look how good Eddie was and he’s still not in.
Willis was there every time. Dude was a monster!
I mean every play he was making the tackle. Makes me sad I only had 8 years to rute 4 the man. Patrick Willis was a special player
Damn. Even when Patrick Willis was getting blocked, he still managed to catch up with Johnson. He had great hustle and speed for his position and size.

Patrick Willis doesn’t get the love he should. One of the best linebackers I’ve ever seen. It’s sad he hung it up kind of early tho
Sad,
but glad he did. Don't want him to end up a veggie.
Thought we were gonna win that super bowl against Baltimore.... after that we fell off and he didn’t want to go back to playing for draft picks
His body began failing him. He left at the right time.
Retired early but the stats he put up was enough for 13 years. LEGEND at his position
His body was thrashed. He didnt have a lot left in the tank
Now this is football great running back great linebacker
Well put 👏 👌
Willis was by far my favorite linebacker of all time. What couldn't he do?
oh how i miss seeing patrick willis. him and navarro were the best ILB duo ever #52 #53
Yes Sir.
They were good not taking them over Luke keucly and Thomas Davis

Them and Lewis & Suggs are right there.
Urlacher and Briggs would be my tops with the ravens duo right behind
People focus so much on his speed, but it's useless without good vision. He had great vision.
Great! He skill set was underrated.
Facts
His power was underrated as fuck… he had great vision yes but I’d say his long rushes were more from breaking tackles or running through defenders
Shut up
Explain cj running for 135 2 tds and 25 receiving? 160 total yards and 2 touchdowns he was solely willis's assignment.
Two of my favorite players hands down
Patrick Willis is what happens when you combine Ray Lewis' size, hitting power, and tackling ability with Brian Urlachers' zone ability, mental game, and initial-break speed.

@@mneck9975 oh yeah he did
Ray Lewis had the mental game too smh
Patrick Willis was a great tackler
Man, Willis makes just about every LB in the league look right now like an amateur, outside of Bobby. Dude was the deal.
Patrick Willis and Luke Kuechly are easily the best linebackers in the last 10 years. Bobby Wagner is #3.
@@peterthegreat100 I thought he was referring to Bobby Bell lol
Teddy Adams wow you went wayy back lol
Greatest linebacker of all time Patrick Willis

2 legends doing what they did best! If they were in today’s game, I couldn’t imagine what havoc they’d cause opponents!
My favorite era of the NFL
Patrick is Hof and was the total package LB. AND IS ALLTIME TOP FIVE PERIOD NO IF ANDS BUT OR MAYBES

Most impressive thing is he was good with Jeff Fisher as head coach
Seriously how did that man keep getting jobs?
Jeff Fisher was great picking RB’s
@@vattelvoigt5321 helps when you always pick top 3 and the GM is the one actually picking.

Hearing Takeo spikes name is a blast from the past, he was the true journeyman line backer

Patrick Willis was never under rated. He was the best lb in the NFL for close to 8 years...
love it too brothA!

Willis was an outstanding LB
Sideline to sideline Willis was a bad boy.

No tyreek hill speed reminds you of chris Johnson because chris Johnson played before tyreek hill.
Great matchup … prime CJ and Willis was a stud
P.Willis was a beast 💪🏾💯
Pat Willis wuz a Beast ! Shudda been a Raider ! 🏴☠️☠️

I miss Patrick Willis one of the best linebackers
When can we see Christian mccaffery or Adrian Peterson
Title should of been Patrick Willis meets CJ2k !! Big game
Fck what anyone says, Chris Johnson was THAT DUDE!
As much as I loved this defense, their weakness was more agile finesse backs. Power runners were chewed up easy enough.
I wanna see CJ race Tyreek Hill
CJ would lose, he ain’t even in his prime
Tyreek would loose.
To the announcer...it wasn't a bad angle by 32, CJ2k just out ran the angle 🤷🏿♂️🤣🤣🤣
The commentator said Ahhhhooooooh
Quote Patrick Willis: "He fast, dog."
Titan up!
Some NFL guys are sprinter fast, CJ could outrun them all on gameday padded up & carrying the ball...whole different skill set.
Wonder what was going on in CJ2K's head everytime he looked up after being tackled and just saw 52
I'm thinking the whole time if these two was iron men cj2k for sure HOF patrick Willis top 5 LB all time
Where is Luke highlights
Willis was so fucking fast
Love CJ but the whole time looking at this video thinking Patrick Willis is a beast
Who won this battle?
Trying to compare Willis’ speed to Chris Johnson is ridiculous! Chris ran a. 4.1 which is the fastest of all time at this point in the NFL
