ROBOTS UNDER ATTACK: LA Unleashes Fury on Food Delivery Robots

- While food delivery robots have come to LA to make deliveries, not all Angelenos are in the mood for the robots attitudes. The robots talk too much junk and then whine when they face repercussions. They need to toughen up because life as a food delivery robot is not going to get easier.

“It opens the lid only for the person who orders the food.” 🤣🤣
Kind of like my ex wife
Homeless people: hold my... beer?
Latch by Master
lol yeah it opens for the people who ordered the food. Apparently it's not hard to force the lid open and steal the food either.
“These robots know where to navigate; who to avoid.”
Robot: *stands in the middle of traffic*
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Damn Austin at it again...
"a total of one robot messed up, so clearly the entire technology is a lie"
Wow i can't believe in L.A. people are breaking in too these things and stealing everything.. who would of ever imagined!?
Exactly.
I remember LA from 19 years ago when I visited. It was a hole back then. I don't think it would have improved since then.
I had a group with 3 men, 2 girls approach me trying to sell me a stolen cell phone. When that failed they were asking for money but I told them I only have 35 cents left. The girls reply was, "Give me that then".. No sorry... Wasn't worth beating me up for 35 cents. I really had about $2.50 but I wasn't going to tell her that.
The funny thing is, the girl asked me if I needed a date (nah, I'm good)
It was my final day there and I was just walking around exploring as I had checked out of my hotel, the shuttle bus was still 3 hours away. Here I am jeans, t-shirt, $5 backpack with a water bottle inside (didn't look rich)
Another time at the bus station 3 guys wanted to roll me / rip me off.
Lmao my thoughts exactly
@@roadmonitorozNothing in Ca is getting better by any meaningful measure, LA area already sucked way back in the 70’s, though the air quality improved from the constant dirty brown of that era. SF and the entire bay area followed suit not much later.
Rural areas used to be great, but they too are going to crap thanks to illegal pot grows and amateur meth labs galore. Away from the big cities, CA was otherwise a great place to explore in the 70’s, but no longer. I got out of there in 2005, just before the start of the free fall to the hellhole the politicians are creating for it now.
@@AB-vc7ox I went SF from Florida the first time in 2005 and couldn't believe all the homeless people walking around harassing people and stealing stuff. Now my town in Florida is the same way! Huge drug camps everywhere. For the most part they aren't homeless, they are choosing to get high and sleep in the woods. They caught a guy living in our neighborhood park with an once of heroin! It's 150 dollars a gram on the street here! He could have rented a cheap hotel room for over a month for what he paid for that bag of dope.
"Would've" or "would have" but never "would of"

Don’t ever send a human to do a robots job.

I can't stop laughing, what did they expect in LA?? 😂😅😂😅😂😅
Took me awhile to catch it but the newslady was doing some awful math. She thought a robot moving 7mph would take an hour to go a mile xD
It's 12 mins to go an hour at 7mph
Just posted a comment about this. I am so glad I wasn't the only one who was so confused by that lmfao
@@cheesecuplingsI'm embarrassed how long it took me to be sure on the math but now it's so clear. 1mph for one hour equals 1 mile. 7 mph for one hour = 7 miles therefore just divide 60 min by 7 to determine 7mph traveling 1 mile.
😅

The Wheel assembly looks quite flimsy.
I suppose it appears that way because of the narrow tires and that its top heavy. Still a great design since it has to be flexible enough to navigate through various obstacles on the (disintegrating) sidewalks and cross walks.
This would probably work well in China or Japan but definitely not here.

I definitely think LA is a bit too morally bankrupt for them, to put it lightly. Sadly in any city that wouldn't have degerates breaking them, wouldn't have enough population and customers to justify them.
Yeah, they should totally try setting up robots in a small town or something. I'm sure they will be happy to have robots take jobs.

@@cobusb8373 it could be questionable whether some people we encounter have feelings based on the actions they display. Don't tell me how I should feel especially when you don't know the difference between piece and peace.
Because they were designed to look like a mammal and a child, so you would feel bad for them and not see them for what they are: another way to screw over working people for the gains of the capital. That's best case scenario plus the added time to deliver

In the UK people are parking their cars to go shopping/for a meal/watch a movie at the cinema etc and returning to their car to find the front wings and bonnet (hood) have been stolen. People are 'cannabilising' cars for parts here, if they try to use these bots here they won't last long before they're stripped for any parts which are useful and even if that doesn't happen our ferrel youths will smash them up 'for a laugh'. I think it cost around 12K.
@@jonathanryan2915 I don't know. Depends on what is running it although development would have been expensive. It's hard to teach those things all the stuff required to navigate through vehicles / crossing the road.
It could be running a Raspberry pi (about $100) with a on board camera, ultrasonic sensors, stepper motor controller $50 - $100, motors (2 wheel drive $300), battery $200, case $50, solenoid lock $20, GPS receiver $50.

While robots don't have human rights, they do have property rights that are same same as with cars, buildings, equipment, and things that are not mine to touch, set on fire, or break. Where's law and order in a collapsing world empire? It shouldn't require a battalion of police or troops, but just a well fed civilized population of people united in common brotherhood.

The robots are doing a great job at bringing out the dregs of society by the looks of it, maybe he should equip them with tazers and pepper spray for self defense.
