Hi Laura, the patient would usually be under conscious sedation for a dental procedure instead of general anaesthesia. Any safety glasses used would be to protect the patient's eyes - for example when applying iodine antiseptic around the mouth to prepare the patient's skin before surgery.
Thanks for answering my question! For some reason, I thought this was a dental surgical procedure. I always have nitrous when I get dental cleanings (actually getting one tomorrow). They always give me safety glasses though sometimes I still get water on my face. :/ Only time I’ve had general anesthesia/deep sedation for a dental procedure was when I had my wisdom teeth out when I was 17.
What surgery was the patient having ?
Hi Charlie, this preparation would be for a dental surgical procedure - for example, placing a dental implant.
Is the patient wearing an outdoor shoe?
Why are safety glasses used if she is having surgery (presumably under general anesthesia?)?
