Based on the description you gave me (Gold Intensitive Oud) I layered Roses Greedy (Mancera) and Santal Majuscule (Serge Lutens), basically because both have one striking note, rachas one. RG, a kind of smooth rose and SM, just santal. If GIO is a hint of what I’m smelling, I desperately need two bottles .
@@polly2018 Serge Lutens was my first approach to niche. I tried Santal Majuscule, Cherguei and Un bois Vanille. I hadn't tried Ambre Sultan because most people said it was too charged and masculine. They are very smoky, dense...They give that mysterious idea, that shadowing atmosphere, like walking throught the woods with just candles or entering an obscure temple.. IMO they all share that dna, but Un bois Vanille is more suitable for a whole bottle. I really enjoy it in cold days. At first I was a bit dissapointed because I perceived just a vanilla candle, but with time I could enjoy the woods as well. Chergui is too spicy (I love the ones envolved) but it lacks something..some strength, same as Santal M, which has the most beautiful santal during the first hours but at some point the smoky vibe it's too much after 6 hours...I really prefer layering them with something "waking up". They are "melancholic" but perfectly blended, and decently last longing aromas.
Oh that supermarket experience, I can relate. I have a sample of Tom Ford's Neroli Portifino. Quite exquisite.. but it also reminds me of people who used to clean the office... while I do appreciate those people and their hard work, but it's not what I want to smell like. Perhaps with a few tries it will pass.
I have been desperated trying to decide between Aoud Vanille and Gold Intensitive Oud...I really couldn't made out my mind and then you came with this. Is this rose too powdery? Is it simmilar to Roses Greedy? I've read someone saying this perfume is Roses Vanille with wood...Do you agree?
It's more fresh rose soap but not old soap, fresh and woody. Aoud Vanille from what I understand is a very deep aoud, this makes them absolutely different. I have roses Vanille, and they have nothing in commone. Roses Vanille is rose and sugar, Gold is soapy soft fresh rose with light wood, and water running in-between them. I love them both, but they are completely different.
If you like rose, a soapy and midleaster vibe, a bit woody, fresh then yes. It is one of my favorite fregrances in my collection, its not outrageous yet far from mainstream. I think it is very hard do dislike, the only negative thing people say is that the oud is very light, for me it's a bonus 😉
I know! I watch Russian channels and they vlog fragrance shopping. The shelves are full of Mancera and Montale!!!! I wish Mancera had the option of building personalized 2ml sample kit like Montale does on their website.

Excellent Video .... You are a very hard critic in your fragrance analysis. I love it because you are honest in your opinions.
You are fantastic! I love your review!
Sounds like something I’d like
I just blind bought gold incense, you’re right: it’s fantastic!!
Congratulations, I'm so happy you love it. Wait for fall, it will really snuggle you up. 😄

The wrong association and it's down hill from there, love clean floors just don't want to smell like them..lol
Midnight gold, can field workers use it in hot weather?
Yes!!!

Hello! I totally agree! Mancera performs a lot better. Thanks for the recommendation. Would you say Gold Intensive Aoud is a safe blind buy?

Why we don't have mancera in our stores 😫i just ordered roses vanille and roses greedy.

if you like Gold Intensitive Aoud, you'd probably like Gold Prestigium. And if you're into weird and different, try Sand Aoud.
I keep looking g at Gold Prestigium, how is Sand Aoud?

Is it redundant to own both gold intensitive aoud and gold prestigium?
Same experience with velvet vanilla-underwhelmed experience "blob".
