- Hi you guys! We are well into week two of our small kitchen renovation! In this vlog we are trying to get the floors leveled, and we are beginning to set the cabinets in place. So exciting! I hope you enjoy seeing how the kitchen is coming along. I hope you like chatty vlogs because this one is full of chatting! We love you guys and are so grateful for all of your support!

We just did our kitchen and made all the cabinet doors ourselves. It was months in the process working on weekends and evenings. Our kitchen was a wreck for months! I was so ecstatic to bedone. Good for you doing as much of the work as you guys can. It's so rewarding to be able to stand back look at it and say wow we did that! Congrats on your new kitchen!
I was so excited to see you had another video up today!!! So happy things are coming along. It won't be long now! Love everything you chose .If you decide to make a time capsule,maybe you could place a picture of the family and the date you took the picture and your TH-cam channel name and a beautiful scripture .maybe everybody could put something small and mark their names on each item and why they put it in there put everything in one of those vacuum sealed bags ( you can get at dollar tree) to keep everything sealed so nothing would get dirty or wet . I watched that show "Hometown " on HGTV ( Which I just Love!!) In one home someone had cut two wholes in the wall and placed a old tubed TV and there was supposed to be a VCR on the top whole but wasn't there so Ben ( on the show) went and bought a VCR at a good will and put it in there and then they dry walled over that as a time capsule so neat!! Please tell Madison, Congratulations on such a great accomplishment !! Wishing her many happy years doing what she Loves!! Can't wait to see your dream kitchen become your reality!! Your husband speaks so soft and sweet to you. Mine would be snapping my head off.lol. And he taught carpentry at the high school. But he has never liked finish work. It's looking great.
Feeling your pain here. My house was built in 1950. Nothing is level. Thankfully the kitchen was already redone in the 90s, so I just need to do a basic makeover. Paint cabinets. New flooring etc. The bathrooms however....ugh. They need a complete reno. Can't wait to see the end results of your kitchen. Hurry up! 😉

Hi Erika, love your progress. Honestly my house was built in 1955. It took 4 professional 3-1/2 months to get mine done so being patient, though not easy will so be worth it I promise . Love & prayers from Nova Scotia, Canada xo
I've been thinking about your reno for days! Specially your laundry room cabinets, a small change that made a big difference when I painted my kitchen cabinets was buy new hinges. Replacing the ones that you've painted over will be so satisfying! If it's in your budget I will highly recommend it! 👍💜😀
Or you could remove and used your bronze rubbed paint and paint the existing ones
Your dream kitchen is coming along there is alot of progress you will see this vision unfold before your eyes, after this is done you will be saying is this really my kitchen. Hard work will pay off.

You could have them make storage area from above 🤔🙄.
I really hate the corner cabinets too, the lazy susan in there always alows things to fall behind 😬.

Did you ever think about tearing out that small wall where your cabinets back up to your laundry room. That would of opened it up a bit? Your new cabinets are beautiful!
You can get corner cabinets for corners, i put things into the corner that i only use now and again, saves wasting space ten. Good idea of space capsule, put photos of you all, plus photos of your kitchen renovation, news papers, plus letters from the children writing why they love living in the house etc, we did that about 45 years ago. Xx
Congrats to your daughter on her graduation!!! So happy for you and your family...2020 is having some exciting moments for you in spite of the bad things happening. Love the time capsule idea! And I think you have room for another shelf in your laundry room below the one that is there!

Looking awesome! That white is looking so pretty. I remember when our new cabinets went up. It felt like it took forever 🤦♀️ especially with all the leveling and getting everything just right.

Just found your channel....I found you because I have over 50 year old, white speckled counter top....We live in my childhood home...Anyway, I can't take the counters anymore...lol. I have some stone looking vinyl luxury tile and I am going to attempt to cover up the old counter for a new look. Wish me luck!!!! I loved how yours had turned out. ...so you inspired me to just go for it.

Looking great! So happy for you! I used to have roller bars under my stove which would raise it up a bit and made it easy to pull out for cleaning. Glad you're taking time to go out. Blessings.

So glad to see you left the stove. I was telling my husband you could raise the stove. You'll like it better close to the sink. The time capsule is such a good idea! When my husband built our house, I put scriptures on each doorframe and the window frames before they dry walled. Your kitchen is gonna be lovely!! I'm so happy for you!

So exciting, Arika!!! Just a thought-I bet you could take the handles off the fridge and spray paint them ORB, white or even black. I’ve done that on an old fridge and it totally fixed the yellow handle problem. I’m sure you’ve thought of everything. Just a friendly idea (y’all may not want to even mess with) what if y’all cut one of the corner cabinet walls to make a storage space(in the closed off corner) for things you don’t use that often? Again, just a thought. Can’t wait to see the finished kitchen!!!! Love from Louisiana! ❤️

I was going to tell you about the stove legs. lol. try daylight bulbs in light up on the ceiling. i have the same light they make a world of difference. im so excited to see this all come together 😊💞

Its looking amazing lady! I wondered why they put the floor leveler on both sides when only the one was off. We ourselves had to use the stuff..
It is going pretty fast actully. Not fast enough for you I'm sure. And because you put serval days into one video looks super fast. We to live in a tiny home. Much smaller than yours, a mobile home. And we are working on moving, well moving actully one & 1 1/2 of a doublewide we have renovated, putting them together to make a larger home. It's a long story & alot of work.. and we are doing it all, from moving them with an old M tractor, to leveling, electric, plumbing, leveling the ground, you name it we are doing it. The mobile home moving is tough work, putting axels on, tires on, jacking it up & down to do that, then repeating the process to take tires off axels off & then packing cement blocks & in my case, 100#s & 64 yrs. Old, throwing them under after I pack them to where they have to go. Picking them up is about all I can do, so I throw them. Hubbies back is shot so that's the only thing I can really help with. I tried to drive the old tractor, when I say old I mean old. It didn't go so great, not enough weight to push as hard on the clutch & break it took all the weight I have to stop the thing from going down hill! I'm gonna have to leave the driving that brute to him, not enough of a man to drive that thing! lol... It's 1958 model no power stearing, no power brakes & I asked him once, what is that thing on the front? He says it's where they started it with a crank once upon a time.. geeze, it's been modified to start a little easier, but not a whole lot easier, to many buttons & gadgets to remember for me, it kinda seems as if you are powering up an airplane a very old airplane, but geeze a lotta things to remember just to start something, he has modified it alot to make it more versatile. He welded a blade off a large truck onto the front, made steel tongs for it & they fit over the blade, so he can pick up stuff.. For extra weight on the front end of the tractor, he slides a pallet through the the tongs, adds 100# tractor weights, cement blocks & bungee straps them down. His tractor has a narrow front end, which can be dangerous when picking up things, but the blade, adds weight to keep it from tipping over, he did roll it over last summer, moving our deck. But just on its side & he bailed as it was going over & didn't get hurt.. That old tractor has actully saved our lives.. We couldn't have done half the stuff we have done without it. It's such a long story, but we lost our home of 30 years in 2010 & its been along way home. And we finally bought 10 acres of the family farm back now that was his parents farm for 40 yrs. now it would be 50 yrs. And we wanted to build here when we where first married, its 42 years now, but as they say never give up your dreams. And we will proably never build. Just the 2 old mobile homes, put togather & we do have a young man contracted to put a roof on them once we get them attached, one more to move & then he can start
Its been in the 90's+ high heat index here in Mo. And that has made these jobs even tougher. I never thought in a million yrs. I would be learning the things I have learned this year, I helped him pull the axels under the mobile home, learned to run a hydraulic jack & picked up carried & threw more cement blocks than I ever thought was possible..
I love watching you guys accomplish your goals & how your whole family interacts. It's a joy to see a closely knit family. We are blessed with daughter & her family living here with us on this little 10 acre farm as well & the dream is now for her & her children to get to live out the dream, that has taken most of our lives to even get to & start.. God Bless your little family & wish us luck, we have a very long way to go & winter will be here far to soon & there isn't much progress that happens during winter, we have far to much dang Mo. red Clay, from bulldozers coming in to level the ground & it is hard to get around without getting equipment stuck.. One hurdle at a time hey? It happens as you see & dealing with trying to work with old stuff, it happens more frequently!

Nearly there Arika and you will have a beautiful kitchen. I have two corner base cupboards and I detest them I have to virtually climb inside to find anything. Many congratulations to Madisyn.
Arika you don’t have much farther to go. We have just finished taking the roof of my deck and putting a metal one on to match the metal roof on the house that I had put on 6 years ago and pressure washing the outside of the house. Things are just always so upside down when things like that are going on. But sweet lady your kitchen is going to be so gosh darn beautiful. Just think how much of that good food you can make now. We also pressure washed the roof, which is a job when you have a metal roof. But they tend to get so dirty. But you have a good rest of the week. By the time you read this it will probably be done. Have a great week coming up. You are almost there.
We recently had our 70 year old house releveled so I understand all the complications you are having. Older houses were not made like todays construction and like in the case of my house, they were put together like puzzles. Love the progress, I love your style and i know it is going to be beautiful.
You should totally spray your laundry rod with the spray paint to match everything.

I have one of those corner cabinets you were talking about in our house we bought. Even though you get the space to use with them. It is a pain in the butt to get stuff in and out! It’s definitely not a pick I would have put in either. Now I did in our old house. We redid the kitchen their and we put in the deep drawers! You will love them! I miss mine!

The best thing I love about the Diamond cabinets is that they don’t have that aggravating piece that goes down the middle of the double door and under the sink cabinets . Makes them so much easier to work with too!!
