I'm reading the textbook on the fundamental of ethics by Prof. Russ Shfer-Landau for my ethics class. I'm here because I wanted to see what the author looked like! I gotta say, his wordplay in the book makes philosophy all the more interesting to read.

Good discussion. I think non-natural moral realism is definitely the most plausible meta ethical perspective.

@Language and Programming Channel I don't know that they need to be forms, I think they could be concepts. But, I think they are necessary features of rationality. It is a little mysterious, but I think it is the best explanation there could be.

    Hello Digital Gnosis!
Could you please elaborate on what is the difference between supervenience and grounding? You talked about this difference in metaethics, but I would like to know what is its essence.

I would have very much liked further questioning regarding how he views supervenience today, what explanation can he offer, and how it differs from his views detailed on his previous book!
Either way, thank you both for the great interview and discussion!

Good interview, even though this was all old stuff to me personally. I wonder what Russ thinks of Streumer's Unbelievable Errors, which to me seems like the final nail in the coffin of realism.
