One of my favorite parts of the movie is when Michael is approaching Laurie in the surgery room and she yells out his name, causing him to pause for just a couple seconds, almost to reflect on what he is about to do, it is a very poignant moment between the two. But then, almost like he comes back to his shape-like senses, walks forward and presses the assault, then we get one of the most iconic scenes in horror movie history.
For those that are confused, in another cut of the film Jimmy and Laurie got into the ambulance together, and kinda shared a romantic moment. Since that was supposed to be the last of Myers, we can assume they lived a happy life together after. Therefore, James is right to not include him into the count.

The film just showed one of the gunshots twice. This is a stylistic thing that films do all the time, like a scene where someone is punched one angle will show the fist flying out the cut to another angle showing the same fist flying out. You accept this as a stylistic flourish as a boxers arm can't instantaneously retract and punch back out again, but a gun can almost instantly reset in between one shot and another.
Abraham Anthony I don’t think so. The re-enacted scenes with the dialogue are definitely re-shoots or at least different takes from the first movie since the dialogue sound pretty different
@@kool_aid2344 They were alternate takes from the first film like the bit with Laurie telling the kids to run to the McKenzies and have them call the police. Her tone and line delivery was different but it's still footage that was shot back in 1978 as opposed to 1980-1981 like the sequel. What cracks me up is you can clearly see the stuntman backing up a ramp to fall off the front balcony in the new footage versus the original where he just fell in the backyard that was mainly dirt with some grass here and there. If you just cut the original ending from the first film and use the intro here minus the Mr. Sandman part you can combine both Halloween 1 and 2 into one long complete film in many ways.
A little fun fact: I live about 10 minutes away from Smiths Grove, KY which is the namesake of the sanitarium that Michael was institutionalized at and later escapes from. It is just outside of Bowling Green which is where John Carpenter grew up. Watching this movie last night, I noticed how many references to Bowling Green there are in this movie and this series. Scottsville Road and Lost River are both mentioned and are real places in Bowling Green. It was really cool to see Carpenter pay homage to his hometown by referencing it so many times in the script!
Halloween 1 and this one are easily the best in the series. All the others are kind of just fun to watch, 1 and 2 are genuinely suspenseful, spooky and original especially for the time.
If I remember correctly, Halloween was supposed to be a non-linear anthology, with each film focusing on a new subject centered on/around Halloween. First was a scary masked serial killer, second was going to be about some masks (which ended up as Halloween 3 when they tried to go back to their original plans after supposedly ending The Shape), etc. But Michael Meyers was so popular, fans wanted to see more of him, less of the original idea behind the Halloween franchise. I could be wrong though, I just remember hearing that a while ago, but it would explain the random Halloween 3 in the middle of the whole thing and why the sudden tonal/subject change out of nowhere.
Not exactly. Halloween was supposed to be a stand alone film. John Carpenter was pressured into making this sequel in which Micheal Myers was “killed” THEN they wanted to turn the Halloween Franchise into a anthology series. Everything else you said is pretty accurate.
I genuinely don’t know why you would dislike this. Its funny, entertaining and cool to watch. I feel like there are just people on TH-cam who dislike EVERYTHING. It just annoys the hell out of me.
This is one of my favorites in the Halloween franchise! This is also the one that made me laugh as a kid because of Michael just walking calmly through the glass door-
Cbd Plays Halloween 3 was good what are you talking about. At least it tried something different for once man instead of always same old shit with Michael killing his relatives. Ok so just because Michael wasn't in it it's automatically bad??? How does that affect the story or plot at all? Huh? So then you're saying Halloween 5, Halloween 6, Halloween Resurrection, Halloween 2 remake were all so great because it had Michael in it???? Hmmm that's very strange considering all of those were among the worst in the series. I guess you only like these movies because Michael's in it and you clearly don't pay attention to the story and plot of the actual movie. You sure are weird. Halloween 3 wasn't bad.
Halloween 3 is the best sequel in the series. Completely original and cool story with a total Carpenter vibe. Unfortunately the plebs will cry that it sucks because Myers isn’t in it.
For those who dont know, Halloween is originally a pagan Irish tradition, and was called Samhain. It is a celebration of the dead and is where the Halloween festival that we know today originated from.(pronounced s-ow-in)
Terrible movie - so many people died due to there own stupid choices - i understand its a small town but gosh! No common sense in this film expecpt the doctor and sheriff
Fun fact: that mask is the exact one from the first. It looked like that because originally, they weren’t even thinking of making another one n debra hill kept it under her bed oof
A shame they decided this wasn't canon. I've always liked it just as much as the first. Something about the hospital setting, lori now banged up and a bit loopy/in shock, trying to sneak around and avoid michael. The uptick in violence, etc. Satisfyingly spooky
I think Aliens is a great sequel to Alien. But yeah I love Halloween 2. I like to pretend none of the other Michael movies exist. I like him dying from the fire.
10:22 - There was an alternate ending scene shown a looooong where Laurie was put in the ambulance and Jimmy was found alive on another cart right next to her with his head wrapped from the head injury.

It was really cool to see Carpenter pay homage to his hometown by referencing it so many times in the script!
i cant imagine how much nightmares you must have
I had a nightmare where Michael Killed me, and i woke up and i was disapointed that I wasn't gonna be one of his Victims.
I have seen all of these multiple times and I don’t have nightmares because they are not scary
@@metehan8551 I would have the same reaction
Mete Han I would be disappointed to, he’s my favorite killer in horror movies.
Well if I sleep then freedy Kruger will kill me
The tricker treater that wore the Michael Myers costume made me cry when he died cause he was innocent, when I first saw the movie series.
As Reckless Modz
shit was hilarious
literally 95% of Michael Myers victims are innocent
Pennywise the Dancing Clown yeah but he’s not even a michael myers victim. just got killed by dumbass cops for no reason
Why was he dressed as a mechanic in a William Shatner mask, though?
Senseiparks OH I see ur point
"How can you forget this Chimney of a woman?" Teeheeheehee!
Hey wolfman
Rip wolf
Micheal Myers Hi dad
Hello people. I'm alive!!
Wolfman's Got Nards How I shot you 6 times!!!!!!
Some one give this man a danceing scholarship
My mother was one of the rioting teens in front of the Myers house :)

I think Loomis may have missed half.
Plot twist: Dr. Loomis can only count to six!
This is one of my favorites in the Halloween franchise! This is also the one that made me laugh as a kid because of Michael just walking calmly through the glass door-
Ruby Rose TWO DAYS AGO?
HOW

True
It's not a horror movie.
It’s amazing how Loomis was never arrested
I guess Marion never told the police about how Loomis pointed a gun at a marshal
HALLOWEEN 3 IS NEXT BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jman Simp oh god no please, not Halloween 3
Who haven't watch halloween 3 so im hoping to see who the killer is and dont say who
Cbd Plays Halloween 3 was good what are you talking about.

Fun fact: that mask is the exact one from the first. It looked like that because originally, they weren’t even thinking of making another one n debra hill kept it under her bed oof
Charlie Lean that is true good fact! It’s just that the mask was stretched out that made it look different!
And Nick Castle kept the mask in his back pocket when he wearing the coverall jumpsuit.

A shame they decided this wasn't canon. I've always liked it just as much as the first. Something about the hospital setting, lori now banged up and a bit loopy/in shock, trying to sneak around and avoid michael. The uptick in violence, etc. Satisfyingly spooky
The music and overall time period also adds to spookiness. That's why the remakes are always mediocre, in my opinion.
No one else gonna question how Michael put his hand in the same face melting water he killed someone with and didn't feel shit...
maybe because of his sleeves
And gloves
The man got shot seven times and walked it off, and you think water is gonna hurt him?
He's Michael fucking Myers
I mean he probably did feel it but he's mental so he probably didn't care.
10:27 In the TV version Jimmy is in the ambulance with Laurie at the end and they say "We made it."
Underrated line: "Jimmy's stoner bud Bud smokes a bud."
Lol
This is in my opinion the best horror sequel ever. Followed by H20 and ofcourse 2018 version.
In short Jamie Lee Curtis picks her scripts well
Except for Halloween Resurrection, even though she was only in the first 10 minutes of the movie
I think Aliens is a great sequel to Alien.
But yeah I love Halloween 2. I like to pretend none of the other Michael movies exist. I like him dying from the fire.
oh yeah!!! 😁🙌🏽
How to be a great horror movie killer
1:have facial deformities
2:be super human
3:have more than 3 sequels

5.have them slowly turn into a comedy character
I think only Jason and Freddy have facial deformation
@@ranydigiorgio9894 Leatherface in both the remake canon and counting the prequel with him being shot
6. Have one reboot
7. Killer and protagonist are the only characters with intelligence
