    This is happening all over the world, not just the USA, travel has rebounded so much and I don’t think anyone anticipated this. Just be nice to people the airlines have no staff and they are worn out, remember be nice people 😊

    Also remember don't take out your anger at the check in employees they are stressed enough and just doing their job. It's leadership that you should chew out not them.

    Hold times for calls have been as high as 4-8 hours. Lines at customer service...hours long as well. Despite the tips, it's a legit mess. I was stranded outside the US a week ago, given the runaround, almost missed rebooked flight the next day due to 1 ticket agent trying to serve about 150 people, not to mention customs, passport control. My advice, drive when possible. Stay home until this normalizes when possible. Mentally prepare yourself for the worst case if you must fly and be pleasantly surprised when things go better than "horrible".

      Where were you? I was in Amsterdam a few weeks back and they were in the middle of a strike and had one guy manning the scanning machine and one guy helping all of the passengers for all of the flights at customs. I landed up missing my connecting flight, which kicked off my biggest travel nightmare ever. I'd tell anyone that even though it's costlier, if you can't don't use a connecting flight. I was just passing through Amsterdam, but learned about their striking because of the mess is caused in my life. I don't care if you have to pay $500 extra. Get a direct flight.

    1:21, if your flight is cancelled because of weather related issues you are not entitled to compensation

    When I lived in Korea for a year I used a combination of buses and high speed rail to get around. Fast service and no derailments.

    If you buy a ticket via third party (example expedia) the airlines don't refund you and won't compensate you.

      They will compensate as far as hotel accommodations or food accommodations as long as it is not an act of God. But you are correct they will not refund you for flights via third party.

    The fact that I may have to deal with all of this crap means I’ll be keeping my happy a** at home. Flying is stressful enough as it is. Screw that.

    Who passed the law that gives the airlines the right to "imprison" passengers for up to 3 hours on the tarmac? And people are ok with this?

    i choose to drive where i need to go screw flying it’s too hard of not knowing if you will even get there i know if i drive it’s guarantee to get where i need to go .

      @@mericasuxocks697 It can be more expensive, but it isn't always the case. It depends on where you're going. Especially along the northeast corridor, it's faster and cheaper than flying. However, on longhaul trips (say Chicago to LA, for example), you're absolutely correct. It just depends on the travel distance and specific stations.

    Why can't anyone just take the train or the bus much better anyway that I either quicker but not over like airplanes that I cramp crowded including the chairs is not comfortable on airlines noisy stinky especially that it be annoying the best way that I travel for holidays for trains just take the train anyway you will know something about it you got your own private room your private bathroom and eat the buffet everyday it's only that by train

    And when will the airlines treat people with disabilities like humans? There is never any room for wheelchairs because they feel they need to cram as many people on a plane as possible, which leads to people's wheelchairs being lost and/or broken. What do y'all plan to do about that?

      Happens to me all the time since I’m small I get smashed between them. Had an aisle seat few times & ask to move center seat, they put up both arm rest & bring 2 extender belts then allow this huge man to set there & he was absolutely 2 seats & still hanging over the end. Talkjj in no yo attendants waste of time as they just want to push off😕

      @@ajs11201 TRUE! But if you book with Southwest, you can sit anywhere and they're the best Airlines in USA. You can basically find your own seat since it's not assigned! Plus, the employees are always happy at Southwest, so I don't know what coolaid they are drinking but they are always hospitable.

      "Best" is a matter of opinion. Agreed, many passengers love that airline, but that's not a universal truth.

    Except none of this makes sense. Ok, so you don't have enough pilots, well, your fault, because we BAILED YOU OUT! Airlines were supposed to keep those jobs, not keeping those money as profits!
    Also, you schedule flights based on your staffing. Unless there is actually someone with COVID causing you short staff, there is no reason to be canceling flights AFTER the flights have been scheduled by the airlines. Weather I will let you have that.
    None of this makes sense.

    Also reach out to social media. Last time I was delayed due to a mechanical issue, I vented on Twitter and the airline immediately reached out to rebook me on an earlier flight than the one we were rebooked on from the counter.

    If flying commercial is an offense to you rights, exercise your right to fly private. No muss, no fuss. And you'll get the Karen treatment you deserve. Otherwise stop wailing when your low cost carrier can't deliver.
