- I think the title says it all, don't you? Anyways, @blackcatbooks64 seems to think that Pokemon innovates each of it's games, when they really don't, at least when compared to other games out there, like Elden Ring.

I find the most idiotic thing about his video is that he compared Pokemon and call of duty, two games that have NOTHING related to each other. One of the favorites about that child: comparing unrelated games
For me personally, I am happy for the change in direction. I felt like the older Pokemon formula was tired and pretty much played out. Great video.

7:06 Diving did actually make a brief return in Black and White, but yeah. It's a shame that that never came back. That added an entire layer of depth to the world.

Gen 2 introduced the Special Attack/Defence split not Gen 3, Gen 3 introduced abilites and natures, Gen 4 introduced the Physical/ Special split(Moves prior to this were categorised as being either physical or special based solely on their type for example all fire type moves being special. But with Gen 4, moves were now categorised by what they actually did rather than their type. For example Fire Punch prior to Gen 4 was special due to it being a fire type attack despite the pokemon punching it's target but with Gen 4 it was made into a physical attack.) the Physical/Special split really helped Pokemon like Sneasel who really got cucked by its typing and it's STAB moves all being special and it being a physical attacker.
Pokemon and Nintendo fans are guilty of double standards they will jump at the opportunity to mock games on other platforms that are buggy and broken but when it's their precious Nintendo game that is buggy and broken they hardcore defend it
Harman Smith is the living epitome of that, but yeah, I agree with what you say here 100%.

This may be my first encounter of this Harman fella, and.......wow, the utter saltiness and delusion that this mega Nintendo fanboy is spewing. And I say this as someone who actually really enjoyed playing Pokémon Scarlet/Violet; but obviously, just becuz I happen to like it doesn't mean that I'm gonna give Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, and GF a pass for releasing it in a clearly unpolished state.
But anyways, great video, man.

I was originally going to put a bit in where I talked about how disturbing it was that he said that you can set Pokemon against each other or on each other because it made me think of dog fighting. Even though Pokemon battles are basically glorified dog fights, I still found how he put it, and with a smile on his face, no less, rather disturbing!
i like pokemon but you are right it is the same story heck i had a talk about that with a coworker a few years ago
I love Pokemon, and I would say that my cousin has a love of Pokemon that matches Harman's love of Pokemon, too, but he and I don't worship the ground it, Game Freak, or Nintendo walk on.

Just a little correction. Gen 3 introduced Natures, Abilities, and Double Battles, as well as changed the DVs used in Gen 1 and 2 into the EVs we know of today. Gen 4 is when we got that Physical/Special move split. But you're still making a good point. And this is from a person who played Pokemon since before kindergarten.
Actually, we were both wrong. The Special Split occured in Gen 2. And yeah, I completely forgot about Natures and everything else, so thank you for clearing up any misinformation I spread.

@@JestanDiams I was just about to say the Special stat being split into atk and def was gen 2 and moves being categorised into physical and special by what they did rather than just their type was gen 4 but yourself and @afre989 beat me to it lol. 😂😂😂
I agree with both points from both arguments, thanks for playing the devils advocate. Pokemon isn't innovative, but they delivered a decent story with the area zero arc. The bugs and glitches are unacceptable and pushing it out is exactly what they should of done, but I love the addition of hyper training, nature fixing and open world multi-player.
5/10 because GameFreak shat on what could have been an awesome entry from day one.
Edit: I haven't played pokemon since gen 5 black n white 1, so a lot of the features are new to me.
There are a few things in this video where I said that I do agree with Harman. Just because you may dislike someone doesn't mean you're not going to see eye-to-eye.
tbh if you get past the horrible performance issues and the bugs/glitches then Scarlet and Violet are actually fairly decent games, if they didn't have those aforementioned issues I'd rate them a solid 8/10 but with them they're a 5/10 AT BEST. Also let's not forget that things got so bad that Nintendo AND Game Freak apologised to fans for basically f***ing up big time and began issuing refunds. Also Nintendo NEEDS a more powerful console.
I agree with what you said here 100%. I have a playthrough of Pokémon Scarlet going up on my gameplay channel. You wouldn't happen to know where to find Ice Stones, would you?
@@JestanDiams Yeah Glaseado Mountain, just search round for red sparkling poke balls (you know the standard item indicator) until you find an Ice Stone, but I'm sure like a lot of things what items you get is down to luck, you could search for hours and not find a single one yet come back after going somewhere else and find a whole bunch of them.

@@JestanDiamsikr I been playing PlayStation for the longest, but even tho I don't own a switch or Xbox at the moment does not mean I wouldn't get those if I could affprd then. I would love to get back into gears of war or a complete playthrough of breath of the wild. I'm glad you made that comment about Nintendo. We can Iike games despite what it's played on lol. For instance I'm sure lot of ppl wanna,okay god of war also. Lots of ppl have gotten tribal over systems and forgot it's about games lol

I'm very well-aware. While I've had an absolute blast playing Pokemon Scarlet, I'm not just going to let Nintendo and Game Freak slide with it. Thankfully, I've only had a few minor graphical glitches in Pokemon Scarlet. Others, however, not so much.

I love the Dynasty Warriors games myself, don't you worry. I *especially* loved Dynasty Warriors 3 for the English voice acting. I wish ALL the English-voiced Dynasty Warriors games had 3's style of voice acting.
Anyways, it was used because I couldn't think of anything else. I also plan on doing a playthrough of Dynasty Warriors 8 on my gameplay channel. ALL of them that I can, in fact.
