I haven’t seen you or heard from you for awhile, but this video shows that you haven’t forgotten how to make those machines talk. Keep up the good work😜👍
Thank you very much for the kind comment! 🤗 And thank you for watching this video as well! I have been waiting for a opportunity for a different angle of what we do, like here! I think it's better to have something different to show in every video, than showing off the same thing every time🙂
This one has to be in the top 5 of your videos I'm watching this for at least the 17th time, this video is faster than the previous one ( my opinion) lol. The scopes in this one is more. I'm just waiting for the new one. Keep up the good work
Wow, thank you!🙏🤗 Yes, this one bring great memories to me!😊 I truly had a blast at this project!! I had the honor of being assigned to this machine at this project, I remember all the pride and good feelings I had while getting to know this machine back then!😋 I put out a slideshow of some transportation and assembling of this machine, that was the first time I saw and touched this beast!😍 Well, you are right, I did load much faster in this video!😋 This limestone was a bit smaller in fractions, so I was able to fill the bucket better! The 5 teeth setup was also helping, as the material top in the bucket got larger! Was able to catch between 12 and 15 tons in each bucket, instead of 9 to 12 tons nowadays!😅 The trucks got about 50 tons of payload in average by 4 passes instead of 5, and that speeds up the production drastically!🤩 I had a slightly different technique back then, as I invested 2 -4 seconds every cycle, ensuring that the fill grade of the bucket was topped every time! These extra seconds, made me save 15 to 20 seconds every truckload, compared to what time I manage to load the trucks these days!🙂 However, I have had the honor of learning from more experienced operators since this, so my technique has evolved a bit after this video!🤗 Would be fun to work with the same materials again, I believe that I would manage to load a bit faster now!😄 Well, I would probably filmed a bit different myself, but I had my site manager to film the outside in this! But I am satisfied with it anyway, and most because you and others appreciate it!🙏🤗 Thank you for enjoying it over and over!!🙏
Thank you! 🤗 I find this method very efficient, since it allows me short turns in my cycles, and reduces the need for advancement and the cleanup that follows! At best, this way to load results in me loading 33 loads/hour, with a minimum of "bench works" and other cleanup! Thanks so much for your recognition of my setup and video! 🙏😊
Thank you very much for for a kind comment! 😊 I do my best to do things right, I really appreciate that my way of doing things, gets approved by those who watch!🤗 Thanks for watching, and hello back from Norway!
Good video...and good operator... I drive a 352f in a quarry here in Ireland. Irish cement and I always set my self up same way ..... no time wasting at all......
Thanks for your kind feedback!🙏🤗 Fun to experience that there are others out there, operating the same technique!😁 This method is highly efficient, indeed!😋 Have done my best to perfect the method even more since this, you can see if you can see any difference in my latest videos!😄 So you have good experience with limestone then?🤙 Limestone from this island has been used at Norcem concrete factory for decades, this has been a quarry for lime over a century! I. The early 90’s, the pits were regulated as a hazardous waste deposit. Our job here, was to blast and load out a new pit, as the old ones were about to be full!😋 Heavy rock to handle, even though it was very fine in size! How’s your limestone to work with?🙂
@@norwegianearthmovers am not actually loading the lime stone here the hav 3 ...990 loading shovels loading a fleet of 775s....I am striping over burden in the quarry al the time loading 4 a40s..
I see!😋 Wow, you must have a seriously large crusher then!😅 You guys must have an awesome production with all that muscle in play! Overburden job like that must be great!🤙 What kind of materials do you handle then? Clay or some other kind of dirt?🙂 Nice to work with loose materials, rock jobs tends to be a bit more exhausting due to all the shakes and shocks..🤪 Worked mostly with clay and topsoil when I was operating 50 ton excavators, miss the softness of the ground when it comes to filling the bucket, but not so much when it comes to trying to balance the machine on soft ground..😅 What’s not hard rock here, are mostly wet mud here in Norway, so I do prefer to stand leveled on a solid rock bench.😄👌
@@norwegianearthmovers we do use some of the overburden and haul it to the crusher and they mix it trough wit the rock it brings the chemistry levels up .. we do that every morning for 4 hours ...then we switch over to different benches wer the material is bad and it all goes to the tip.....
Wen I get a chance I will upload a video on my channel of the quarry and u can hav a look ...its the biggest quarry in Ireland ..we let a blast of der few weeks ago 250 thousand ton in one shot ill up load that blast to and show u...it was recorded wit a drone
Thank you for your enthusiasm in your comment!! 😋 I am doing my best to to find, and to use the potential of the machine in the most productive way! Comments like yours, gives me a sense of pride about what I do and how I operate the machine! 🙏🤗 Must say I agree with you, I have been operating a lot of machines, but this one is just awesome!! In this video, we loaded and hauled close to 10 000 tons in just over 5 hours! At the best, this machine can when properly handled, load over 1600 tons in up to 33 loads every hour!🤩 At our best, me and my team loaded and hauled 397 loads in one day!! Thats about 22 000 tons from one machine and 5 trucks!😋 Thanks for watching, and for taking your time to share your thoughts about my video!😊
But ofcourse the CATERPILLAR 390 is TOP OF THE LINE in excavators!! I like how ur working very cool and relaxed that's the way to go!! All u need now is the Airconditioning on and some good ROCK MUSIC !!! WORK SAFELY AND BE HAPPY ur DOING GOOOD!!
Hehe, we have the same opinion about the 390!🤩 However, i see various usage of the machines capabilities, so I do my best to show what I feel is the top of the machines capacity! 😋 Lately, I have been working on a 374 F, must say that I most definitely feel a major difference! That 20 tons more of weight with the 390 can give twice the capacity compared to the 374, is something I wouldn't believe could be possible without experiencing it myself! 😅 Looking forward to this fall, when I get to start a new project with the 390! 3 months with smaller machines is enough, its going to be great to lean back in the quiet cab, enjoying music, air-conditioning and deluxe seat with cold air😋 Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts about what I show, I wonder, are you an operator yourself ?🙃 Will do my best to combine safety and efficiency in the future as well!
Unfortunately I,m not a professional operator however i used to do business with this type of equipment back home in SURINAME S.A. the AMAZON JUNGLE !! I checked out your video again and it's now that I see that u got a pretty sizeable operation going on here!! NO NO u made the right decision going for the 390F with all those big trucks coming and going!! Besides it looks like a BRAND NEW MACHINE!! This Machine is the real MONEYMAKER!! With the RIGHT OPERATOR this Machine is a killer !! GOOD LUCK SIR AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU !! U R A GOOD MAN !!!
Good video. I feel that you are really enjoying your work. Every operators should be like you!!! Good video and good explanation of what you are doing. The secret of doing this job is to love this job!! Now i work with CAT material handler and wheel loader on waste but i miss the smell of dirt!! But i'm born to have levers in my hand. Now we smell more alcohol than diesel but this situation will end soon! Take care of that big ass 390!!! Respect from Italy
Well, hi to a fellow enthusiast! 😁 Thank you for your comment, and for showing appriciation of my work!! You did see me for who I am, I really love to operate machines, this one in particular 🤩 They say that Norwegians are born with skies on their legs, maybe that's true,, but I was also born with levers in my hands!🤪 I grew up in my fathers toolbox, spending time with him in machines from the day I could walk. I'm living the dream I had from being a kid, loving what I'm doing! All the best to you and others who spend time handling materials, the job you do are very important for the communities, environment and the planet! 👌 It is fun for me to explore enthusiasm and joy for handeling machines, in other parts of the construction buissiness! 🤩 Yes, we smell alcohol now, but as you say, it will pass! I really hope you as well stay healthy and safe during this pandemic! All the best from Norway! 🤗💪🇧🇻
@@norwegianearthmovers how old are you? I'm 33. Here in italy there isnt a lot of earthmoving/mining/construction and demolition, since a couple of year, but we need that, people and politicians dont understand it. We need infrastructures, road, railways, harbour, new buildings etc. A project like yours is quite impossible here. I will load waste trucks with my mh3024 for a long time i think :). How much is the pay for an operator in your country? We need people like you, my colleagues even doesnt know the function and regulation on their machines, they start their engine up and drive forward ahahah.
I am 39 years old for some months still, before I turn into the rank of "old guys" at 40 this fall..😅 Sad to hear that your government doesn't prioritize investments in evolving your country! But, we have har the same issue here, however, we finally got a government who desired new roads, rails and industry aereas 6 years ago! 🤸♂️😁 Since then, we have buildt miles and miles of new infrastructure, and still have good orders for more! One can only hope that the situation will be better for you in Italy as well in the time to come!🙂 Well, the pay is different between the companys, but I feel that the company I work for pays ok compared to others!🤪😅 Minus tax, I think the buissiness pays about 20 to 30 euro per hour, we get payed in NOK, one euro is around 10 to 11 NOK now a days.. How is the pay for you? Hehe, we do have different types of operators here as well, but most of the guys here get a lot of responsability, making them - and me kind of our own bosses! It feels great to be trusted to make a good costeffective production, it gives me a lot of energy and lust to proove myself by giving full throttle and work with effective solutions!😋 High expectations from leaders makes one grow, so I'm really greatful for my position, in this machine! 😃
Thank you very much for subscribing, and for watching! 🙂 Hehe, if one just should watch one's own profession or lifestyle, it would be boring for most of us..😜 I am grateful for everyone who seems to enjoy what I share, no matter what the background of the viewer are!😉
Thank you so much!🙏🙂 And I agree myself!😅 This limestone was just awesome to work with, allowing me a far higher production then than now!😋 We filled up the 10 000 tone rock barge in around 5,5 hours this way, it was just so fun to see how much of the pile that disappeared every day! At best, I loaded 100 loads more in a day, than I’m able manage these days!😆
Thank you! 🙂 That means a lot to me, coming from someone with your experience of catching great footage of interresting machine operations! Thank you for subscribing as well, I must admit that I have been one of your 23k + subscribers for å long time! 👌🇧🇻
I totally agree with you!🙂 When there is space enough, I don't lift the boom or pull the stick after dumping the bucket! Not only does it affect the cycle time, it does a lot to the fuel consumption as well!😉 Thanks for your comment, and for watching - apparently seeing what I do at work! 🙃
@@norwegianearthmovers you swing the diggers well mate, pleasure to watch an operator that i can clearly tell takes more than a passing interest in his profession and thinks about efficiency, your bosses should be appreciative of that. I used to work for a large mining contractor in Australia with 500T Komatsu and they had some very efficient operators and same thing applies wasted movements not tolerated!
@@Gavin84w I can't say anything but thank you! 😊 Loading has always been my passion, and I do see my efforts as investments regarding what one gets put to at work! I have been operating excavator dayli since 2001, but started loading back in 2008 when I took over a 40 tons Volvo. Since then, my focus has been to make a good name for myself through going all in, learning from more experienced guys! 😅 When I started at this company, I was surely tested in different applications, but after 4 months here in a 352 F, I got the honor of taking over this 390 F!☺ I have been loading ever since, even at my last shift now, operating a 352 again while my 390 is maintained and made ready for transportation to a new project 😄 I even asked and tried to be put to something different, but nope.!🤪 The management put me directly in the blast, loading 772's while maintaining the 390 on that project..😂 I do take it as a compliment though, they do apparently has some thoughts about whom that will participate well in the production..😅 I am practically near dead these days thoug, came home on leave yesterday after two weeks at work, tearing what's worth out of the 352F 12 hours a day🤣 Thank you for the opportunity to communicate with someone who obviously knows what this is about, I can read in your kind words that you are clearly familiar with what this is about!😊
Thank you very much! 🙂 Great day for me this, when not just one - but two of my favorite film makers om TH-cam shows appriciation of what I show myself! Thanks for watching, and my best wishes back from Norway! 😃
@@norwegianearthmovers Hehehe. Thank you for compliment. How old are you? When did you starting taking photographs and videos of construction equipment?
@@BeytekinConstructionMachinery you are welcome! 😉 Well, I'm joining the "old guys" at 40 this fall..😅 I started filming back in 2011, but if I remember it right, I didn't start this channel until 2015. Hehe, we'll see what level of wisdom I will reach, but I do live with a feeling of having some kind of experience at least 😅 Now, I do have the beliefs of turning 40, must admit that I didn't have that faith a couple of years ago, turning really sick..🤪 I had great plans for my channel back in 2018, when I got my 390 F, but was put in hospital instead.. Not easy to make machine videos there, or from the couch at home in sick leave.. Maybe I can do something good from now on, as I am finally back at fulltime at work! Thanks for the advice, I'm always taking words of experience from those who have! 🙂
Hi!👋 Thank you so much for your appreciation!🙏 It means a lot to me!😊 Well, I am confident in this way of setup, the machine is perfectly balanced on the bench! I have operated this way for years, without experiencing risks for slides.🙂 Blasted rock is a predictable material, so the bench won’t cave! I wouldn’t do the same if I were standing on clay or dirt! Thanks for your curiosity, hope I could clarify your concern 😊
Hey! 🙂 This is a 6,5 m3, original Cat extreme duty bucket! We have a lot of higly abrasive materials to handle here in Norway, so it's optimized with a lot of wear steele, with a weight of 8,5 tons! Each tooth, weighs a 100 kilo😅 The fueltank contains 1240 liters of fuel, and lasts for around 1,5 days handled this way! The machine is optimized for better fuelefficiency, in this production it uses around 70 litres/hour - moving up to 20 tons of rock/litre of fuel! Our record in one day, was close to 22 000 tons of rock hauled from this machine alone!😋 Thank you very much for watching, and for apriciating what I show!😊
I think they all are new team, you don't need to horn if you have been working together for long time. I have drive Cat390F and why i see this one so slow?
It is correct that some over the truckdrivers are new to the team, some of them haven't even been driving trucks for a long time.. In these Corona times, the company had to rotate some of the crew due to challenges with public transport and crossing og country borders!😉 I don't know how fast the machine you were driving was, but maybe that the weigt of the bucket has something to do with it? In Norway we have very abrasive materials to handle, so this bucket weighs 8,5 tons because of all of the extra wear steele.. One tooth alone, weighs a 100 kilo! The machine has lowered rpm for better fuel efficiency as well.. The demands to emissions are insane here in Norway, maybe the machines in your contry don't have the same rpm? Anyway, thanks for watching! 🙂
Hey nice video from you loading with the 390f I wanted to ask what sirens you use in your 390f because I would like to buy the same for mine in the quarry Nice greeting from Germany
Hi!🙋♂️ Thank you!🙏 Well, I had some cheap 2 tone air horns here, bought from a regular car accessories shop!😅 Our 390’s were delivered with a deep toned air horn and 3 additional high tuned electro horns as new. At this point, the original signal horns had been damaged by the extraordinary dust of this limestone twice. so management just decided to purchase something cheap to replace..🤪 Great sound though, and in harsh conditions like ours, much cheaper to replace!😋 Thanks for watching and for sharing your thoughts!🙏🙂
Awesome video and channel man, I've watched all your videos today ha, just a quick question, what was the crushed limestone that was loaded on the barge been used for? I hope you're keeping well and safe during this lockdown pandemic, has it affected your work in anyway? All the best from Ireland. 👍😁🇮🇪
Hi!🙂 Thank you so much for watching, and for your enthusiasm! I really appriciate that you like what I show of our work!😁 We haul this rock from an island that's used as a depot for hazardous waste. At the same time the rock is being used to build new land and shoreline in a fjord, instead of just dumping it somewhere! Lucky for us, that they were running out of land to build on nearby a town called Drammen 😅 We are hauling and delivering 3,5 million tons og rock, and are soon to complete the contract now!
Regarding the pandemic, we take all precautions possible to stay healthy on the rigg. Everything gets sterilized dayli, both rooms and machines! 😅 First time ever, that we are told to smell alcohol while driving..😂
The company had to rotate some of the crew, due to challenges with public transport and crossing of country borders.. Some guys are om quarantine, but so far, we have the wheels rolling 😋
@@norwegianearthmovers Haha, I can only imagine some guy coming in smelling of vodka and blaming it on the hand wash. 😁 That's good that you're still able to work, I've been stuck in nearly 2 and half weeks now. Do you get to work with any of the crushers or screeners? I use to work with Terex Finlay tracked mobile unit.
Haha, when always soked in antibac, it can be a challenge smell who's been enjoying a bottle of vodka during the night..🤪😂 I guess these times can make an issiue for the alcometers in the machines..🤣 Yes, we do crush rock locally on most of our projects, but we don't have any crushers ourselves! Up here, they mostly use Sandvik, Metso or Keestrack crushers and screeners. It's sad to hear that you have been affected by the pandemic like this, I really hope you will be able to start up again real soon!💚 So far, our government has issued a lot of new projects to help the intyre construction buissiness keep the wheels rolling, but I'm afraid there will be challenges for a lot of companies to survive this lockdown.. Only time will tell what will happen, but one can only cross fingers for not to be offer for too great consequences!🙃 Stay healthy my friend!😋
This is a project we had for a company who prossess hazardous waste! We had a contract for blasting, loading and hauling from a new pit for waste! The area we blasted was 22 acres, and we blasted and excavated ourselves from sea level and down to 80 meters below! 🙃 We hauled rock of the island with two barges all along, but they couldn't transport more than about 13 000 tons a day together, I alone loaded between 16 000 and 22 000 tons a day! At most, a cat 988 H with sidedump bucket and I, loaded over 600 loads at a total weight of almost 35 000 tons a day! This video is from loading out the rest of the depot we buildt parallel with loading barges 😋 Hehe, yes this bucket is 8,5 tons of solid!!😅 I am very satisfied with it, especially in this material!
Hi!🙂 Mainly I do this because it's faster to switch sides with an empty bucket! In this video, I have the same amount of rock on both sides of the bench and find it more efficient to do it this way! 😉 But, if it tumbles down more rock on one side than the other, I do ajust by filling the first bucket on the side with most rock before swinging over to the truck on the other side! Thanks for watching by the way!🙂
Hi!🙋♂️ Hehe, the blasting was great at this project, indeed!! Well, our blasting crews was doing a great job, but they had a lot of help from the rock it self!😉 This was limestone, and this island has been known for it’s fine rock after blasting! We have even had blasters out there to produce boulders ment to build a pier, but even with extremely large distance between the hole and a different ignition pattern, the blast turned out to be just powder..🤪 Extremely fun to load tho!😅 We had production like nowhere else at this project, seeing numbers at the end of the day we wouldn’t think was possible!!😄 Thank you so much for watching and for your comment!🙏😊
Hi!🙋♂️ I really appreciate that you enjoyed it!🙏 This is about the best productivity I can and have achieved with this machine! At best we filled the 10000 tons rock barge in 5,5 hours!🤩 At maximum efficiency, the machine consumed about 75 liters of fuel per hour, while loading up to 1700 tons per hour!! 50 ton payload on the trucks in just 4 passes is nothing but fun to achieve!😍
Hehe, you are probably right about that, but I guess my 390 is a small toy compared to a machine made for loading 793's as well..🤪😅 I am satisfied with the match between the trucks and the excavator! 😉 While I load 772's in 4 passes, I guess I would have to throw 40 passes on a 793..😂
Thank you!🙏😊 The trucks haul about 50 tons of payload! They are made for hauling 48 tons, but has a margin up to 54 tons due to warranty and rights for reclamation! The supplier set the onboard weight scale to 54 tons, because an alarm is set of if overloaded. Not easy to always stay under 48 tons, with these materials I almost always hit 50 tons in 4 passes!😄
The rings on the truck's, are one of our safety measures when working nearby and on water!🙂 The trucks were driving on and off a barge, if they would end up in the water, these rings would float up and indicate where the truck are on the bottom. It's really not easy to search for sunken machines in rescue operations, this rings are ment to do it easier finding both operator and machine! 😋
Some of the rock was around 1600! But mostly, the weight of the trucks suggested that this limestone weighed up to over 1800/m3!😄 Mostly the loads maxed the trucks in 4 buckets! We drove the trucks over a scale weight several times a day, so we could keep track of the tons we moved!😊
Thank you very much for watching! 🤗 Hehe, so you think that I should crank up the rpm to load faster?😜😅 Well, it's easy to dream of higher speed, but I am close to my top speed here, with the throttle at maximum.. 😝🤪 The machine has lowered rpm for "better fuel efficiency", so this is approximatly the best I can handle this machine..🤭😅
@@norwegianearthmovers ,,Is there a extra power button on the left joist stick when you are digging, noticed his finger went top left, very much enjoyed the video, Chas, uk.
@@chascarpenter5006 Thank you for your kind comment!😊 No it is not any power button on the levers in this machine. Nor do i know of any Cat machines that has a button like that! So far I know, it is only Volvo that has a power boost button. I seem to change my grip all the time, using my fingers for what they are worth to avoid pain in arms and shoulders while working this long hours! 😉 I do find it less wearing to operate with fingers and rists, than holding a firm grip in the levers! Thanks for watching, and for your comment 🙏 😊
@@norwegianearthmovers , Thank you for your reply, it did go though my head , you might be changing your hand position to avoid joint wear, as these things can creep up on us in later life!, Did'nt know that the Volvo has the power boost button,, all the best, Chas, uk.
Hehe, I understand you well!😄 This kind of job isn’t for everyone, there’s not that many in my company who wants to operate the largest machines here either.😅 But there is a few of us, that wouldn’t want to do anything else at daily basis!😋 I do other stuff as well, if you search through my videos, you will find videos of me operating smaller machines as well! I started out with a 3 ton Volvo back in the days, but I have always had an urge for larger machines that secure me loading operations.😅 Fun to do finish jobs as well, but not on regular basis. I like it simple, and to make big changes every day!👌 Thanks for watching and for sharing your thoughts!🙏
Hey! This limestone were loaded on barges, and hauled further in the Oslofjord, to build new land and shoreline at a town called Drammen! If you take your time to check out the videos where I am unloading the barge, you will see where we build new land!😊 There are videos of me unloading the barge, with my 390 and a bucket without test, a374 F LME and a 988 wheel loader with side dump bucket!🙃
If you want to dig faster don’t go to full reach when excavating most of your dirt, build the trench a little higher so you don’t have to lift so much. your costing yourself a lot of time, it’s good but you could be a lot faster
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me!🙂 Well, what I do, is quite intentional. If I don't expect to get the bucket properly filled, I can surely do what you refer to, to speed up cycle time to compensate. However, in this video, I actually save 10 to 20 seconds by investing 4 to 5 seconds extra to every pass, by reaching out and deep to ensure full buckets and full loads with 4 passes!😉 5 pass loads takes 1 minute and 30 seconds, 4 pass loads like these takes 1 minute and 5 - 10 seconds.. At least with this machine..😅
Norwegian Earthmovers I totally understand what your saying. The reason your having trouble filling the bucket when you do it the other way is your moving to far forward, you should only advance about the depth of your bucket or a little less, then as you curl your bucket the last 1/4 of the rotation is in softer dirt and the bucket will fill right up. You load exactly how I used to load and I thought it was fast, until I perfected my technique. You’ll still get the trucks out in 4 passes no worries and shave off about 4-5 seconds per bucket. You should be able to load those trucks in under 1 minute no worries. If your interested there is another technique I could show you that’s even quicker and less playing around, you’ll get over 300 trucks in a 12hr shift no worries.
I'm always interested in learning through discussions, how to find the most efficient way to work! 🙂 I am grateful for your opinion, and would very much like to see how you work! However, I see you write about dirt, just wonder if we work with different materials? This is blasted limestone, very fine in size, but extremely hard to excavate! I have tried several different ways of loading this material, and so far this has been the most efficient one.. In addition, my height of the bench is a safety matter as well as I feel it is the best way of filling the bucket! 🤪 When loading from a pile as high as this, there will sometimes slide down up to a couple of hundred cubic meters of rock. I prefer those slides to go down in the trenches, instead of submerging my undercarriage of rock..😅 This way of loading leads me to over 300 loads per shift, my record so far is 397 in one day. If you could show me a way to work even faster, I would surely pass 400 loads per shift🙃
Thank you!🙏😊 Well, I will try to explain my choices in my operation..😅 This is the method that I have loaded the highest amount of materials! Even though it may seem slow, there is not any other way I can ever manage to load faster..🤪 Right here I load 10 000 tons in just over 5 hours, this is more than twice the capacity caterpillar themselves claim the 390 can do! Check out my lates videos, where I’m loading on another site! There you will se faster cycles, but the truckloads takes longer time to fill since I need to add one more bucket to each truck..😝 Here I spent a little more time on filling each bucket properly full, to be able to 4 pass the trucks! My record in a day was 397 truckloads in this video, on the site I am now I have only 300 truckloads a day due to that extra pass.. Thanks for watching and for sharing your thoughts!🙏😊
@@gfairwarzone7618 that is great!👌👍 However, I guess that you have different materials to work with!😉 This rock is hard to excavate, and each bucket holds over 13 tons of rock! My bucket weighs 8,5 tons itself, so each pass is a heavy lift!😄 What kind of material do you load? Guess that you are one of the guys 3 passing those road trucks?🙂
Thank you!🙂 It is a common metode to operate here, especially when loading blasted rock! It is very efficient since the trucks are allowed to back up to the bench when the excavator is working on the other side, this reduces a lot of time! At the same time, I always have a deep cut in the blast with this method, securing full buckets every pass!😋 Norwegian rock can be hard to excavate, if one are operating to high in the blast, it may be hard to get the bucket deep enough to fill it properly! In this way, I always have the bottom level with me, allowing me to place the bucket at an ideal height for maximum fill grade of the bucket!😁
@@theobserver7643 thanks for the advice!😉 I am aware of this fact, I have been doing a lot of research and attempts to combine the advantage of classical double benching with thoughts about “high digging” when advancing to the pile! Anyway, this video was taken at the start of the new cut, and the pile is low.. I have to reach far and low to get a hold of enough material to fill the bucket, as well as the whole operation is about excavating the trench for the trucks into the pile. It would be a steep uphill for the trucks if I don’t go all the way down, and I would be even slower because I wouldn’t have a chance at filling the bucket!😅 We have done a lot of trials and attempts on other techniques, but this method beats all other methods with 50 - 100 loads every day, even if someone would find this way slow! My best day ever, was in a “high pile” - loading 397 loads just like this in 12 hours!😄 It is not possible to make it more efficient than that, but it includes higher excavation of the rock slides, as you suggested!😉

I put out a slideshow of some transportation and assembling of this machine, that was the first time I saw and touched this beast!😍
Well, you are right, I did load much faster in this video!😋 This limestone was a bit smaller in fractions, so I was able to fill the bucket better! The 5 teeth setup was also helping, as the material top in the bucket got larger! Was able to catch between 12 and 15 tons in each bucket, instead of 9 to 12 tons nowadays!😅
The trucks got about 50 tons of payload in average by 4 passes instead of 5, and that speeds up the production drastically!🤩
I had a slightly different technique back then, as I invested 2 -4 seconds every cycle, ensuring that the fill grade of the bucket was topped every time! These extra seconds, made me save 15 to 20 seconds every truckload, compared to what time I manage to load the trucks these days!🙂
However, I have had the honor of learning from more experienced operators since this, so my technique has evolved a bit after this video!🤗 Would be fun to work with the same materials again, I believe that I would manage to load a bit faster now!😄
Well, I would probably filmed a bit different myself, but I had my site manager to film the outside in this! But I am satisfied with it anyway, and most because you and others appreciate it!🙏🤗
Thank you for enjoying it over and over!!🙏
Cut set up is really good like a typical double side shovel cut but with a hex great video
Hello from Ireland pure master class on how to set up bench and load
Thank you very much for for a kind comment! 😊 I do my best to do things right, I really appreciate that my way of doing things, gets approved by those who watch!🤗 Thanks for watching, and hello back from Norway!
Great video shots, up close and personal. Well on this side at least.👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you! 😋🇧🇻
Very good. No stupid music. Only the sound from Engine.
Super efficient way to load, zero idle time on the excavator and never waiting for a truck to get under the bucket
Hi Gavin,Love to see full buckets
We don't get older, it's just the toys that become larger :)
Brother you speak the truth ❤️
Great efficient loading process. Greetings from Scotland!
Thank you very much!🙏🙂 Greetings back to you from Norway!🙋♂️😋
Good video...and good operator... I drive a 352f in a quarry here in Ireland. Irish cement and I always set my self up same way ..... no time wasting at all......
Thanks for your kind feedback!🙏🤗 Fun to experience that there are others out there, operating the same technique!😁
This method is highly efficient, indeed!😋 Have done my best to perfect the method even more since this, you can see if you can see any difference in my latest videos!😄
So you have good experience with limestone then?🤙 Limestone from this island has been used at Norcem concrete factory for decades, this has been a quarry for lime over a century! I. The early 90’s, the pits were regulated as a hazardous waste deposit. Our job here, was to blast and load out a new pit, as the old ones were about to be full!😋
Heavy rock to handle, even though it was very fine in size!
Clay or some other kind of dirt?🙂 Nice to work with loose materials, rock jobs tends to be a bit more exhausting due to all the shakes and shocks..🤪
Worked mostly with clay and topsoil when I was operating 50 ton excavators, miss the softness of the ground when it comes to filling the bucket, but not so much when it comes to trying to balance the machine on soft ground..😅
What’s not hard rock here, are mostly wet mud here in Norway, so I do prefer to stand leveled on a solid rock bench.😄👌
Good job getting multiple viewpoints. I enjoyed the video. Stay safe. Cheers from Canada.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it🙂 Stay safe yourself in these times!

Looks like a good operation to work in. Cool video also dude 👍
Thank you very much for watching! 😁 I do aggre with you,i really love what i do here in this machine! 🤗
Thank you for your kind comment as well! 😋
Ow boy now we talking serious power a CAT 390 ! This one is like the AMG SERIES from MERCEDES BENZ in the Excavator World !!
Thank you for your enthusiasm in your comment!! 😋
I am doing my best to to find, and to use the potential of the machine in the most productive way! Comments like yours, gives me a sense of pride about what I do and how I operate the machine! 🙏🤗
Must say I agree with you, I have been operating a lot of machines, but this one is just awesome!!
In this video, we loaded and hauled close to 10 000 tons in just over 5 hours! At the best, this machine can when properly handled, load over 1600 tons in up to 33 loads every hour!🤩 At our best, me and my team loaded and hauled 397 loads in one day!! Thats about 22 000 tons from one machine and 5 trucks!😋
Thanks for watching, and for taking your time to share your thoughts about my video!😊
Hehe, we have the same opinion about the 390!🤩
However, i see various usage of the machines capabilities, so I do my best to show what I feel is the top of the machines capacity! 😋
Lately, I have been working on a 374 F, must say that I most definitely feel a major difference! That 20 tons more of weight with the 390 can give twice the capacity compared to the 374, is something I wouldn't believe could be possible without experiencing it myself! 😅
Looking forward to this fall, when I get to start a new project with the 390! 3 months with smaller machines is enough, its going to be great to lean back in the quiet cab, enjoying music, air-conditioning and deluxe seat with cold air😋
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts about what I show, I wonder, are you an operator yourself ?🙃 Will do my best to combine safety and efficiency in the future as well!
Great views and sounds, thank you for your content
Thank you for watching, and for your reply! 😋

Yes, we smell alcohol now, but as you say, it will pass! I really hope you as well stay healthy and safe during this pandemic!

I am 39 years old for some months still, before I turn into the rank of "old guys" at 40 this fall..😅
Sad to hear that your government doesn't prioritize investments in evolving your country! But, we have har the same issue here, however, we finally got a government who desired new roads, rails and industry aereas 6 years ago! 🤸♂️😁 Since then, we have buildt miles and miles of new infrastructure, and still have good orders for more! One can only hope that the situation will be better for you in Italy as well in the time to come!🙂
Well, the pay is different between the companys, but I feel that the company I work for pays ok compared to others!🤪😅 Minus tax, I think the buissiness pays about 20 to 30 euro per hour, we get payed in NOK, one euro is around 10 to 11 NOK now a days..
Hasnt been any new videos on this channel in a long time. Hopefully this young man got his health issues fixed up😢

Good to see an operator who does not boom up after dumping the bucket, it's an unnecessary practice and reduces cycle times
Loading has always been my passion, and I do see my efforts as investments regarding what one gets put to at work! I have been operating excavator dayli since 2001, but started loading back in 2008 when I took over a 40 tons Volvo. Since then, my focus has been to make a good name for myself through going all in, learning from more experienced guys! 😅 When I started at this company, I was surely tested in different applications, but after 4 months here in a 352 F, I got the honor of taking over this 390 F!☺ I have been loading ever since, even at my last shift now, operating a 352 again while my 390 is maintained and made ready for transportation to a new project 😄 I even asked and tried to be put to something different, but nope.!🤪 The management put me directly in the blast, loading 772's while maintaining the 390 on that project..😂 I do take it as a compliment though, they do apparently has some thoughts about whom that will participate well in the production..😅 I am practically near dead these days thoug, came home on leave yesterday after two weeks at work, tearing what's worth out of the 352F 12 hours a day🤣

superbe video,bon job.
Ótimo vídeo, mostrando a operação de dentro da cabine... só uma dúvida, não seria um pouco arriscado a máquina estar operando de tal altura?
Hi!👋 Thank you so much for your appreciation!🙏 It means a lot to me!😊
Well, I am confident in this way of setup, the machine is perfectly balanced on the bench! I have operated this way for years, without experiencing risks for slides.🙂 Blasted rock is a predictable material, so the bench won’t cave!
I wouldn’t do the same if I were standing on clay or dirt!
Thanks for your curiosity, hope I could clarify your concern 😊

Hi, how many cubic meters bucket is, fuel tank capacity and consumption fuel per hour ? You drive it so nice, buckets are nicely full for loading..
Hey! 🙂
This is a 6,5 m3, original Cat extreme duty bucket! Our record in one day, was close to 22 000 tons of rock hauled from this machine alone!😋 Thank you very much for watching, and for apriciating what I show!😊
Wouaowww that’s amazing.. Best regards from Tahiti, french Polynesia
What is done with rock, is it sent to a crusher and crushed for gravel and road base material??
Hey nice video from you loading with the 390f
I wanted to ask what sirens you use in your 390f because I would like to buy the same for mine in the quarry
Nice greeting from Germany
Hi!🙋♂️ Thank you!🙏
Well, I had some cheap 2 tone air horns here, bought from a regular car accessories shop!😅
Our 390’s were delivered with a deep toned air horn and 3 additional high tuned electro horns as new. At this point, the original signal horns had been damaged by the extraordinary dust of this limestone twice. so management just decided to purchase something cheap to replace..🤪 Great sound though, and in harsh conditions like ours, much cheaper to replace!😋
Thanks for watching and for sharing your thoughts!🙏🙂
Awesome video and channel man, I've watched all your videos today ha, just a quick question, what was the crushed limestone that was loaded on the barge been used for?
I hope you're keeping well and safe during this lockdown pandemic, has it affected your work in anyway?
All the best from Ireland. 👍😁🇮🇪
Hi!🙂 Thank you so much for watching, and for your enthusiasm! I really appriciate that you like what I show of our work!😁
We haul this rock from an island that's used as a depot for hazardous waste.
That's good that you're still able to work, I've been stuck in nearly 2 and half weeks now.
Nice!
Is this a quarry or are you removing material for a project? That bucket is a tank! You can tell that's built for rock.
This video is from loading out the rest of the depot we buildt parallel with loading barges 😋
Hehe, yes this bucket is 8,5 tons of solid!!😅 I am very satisfied with it, especially in this material!
@@norwegianearthmovers Wow! That's a lot of earth moved. I love those massive projects.
👍👍🔥
when you change sides why dont you take a full bucket with you?
Hi!🙂 Mainly I do this because it's faster to switch sides with an empty bucket! In this video, I have the same amount of rock on both sides of the bench and find it more efficient to do it this way! 😉 But, if it tumbles down more rock on one side than the other, I do ajust by filling the first bucket on the side with most rock before swinging over to the truck on the other side! Thanks for watching by the way!🙂
I'll say it again, I've never seen shotrock that fine. That must be one hell of a good blaster or he's using an awfully of powder.
Hi!🙋♂️ Hehe, the blasting was great at this project, indeed!!
Well, our blasting crews was doing a great job, but they had a lot of help from the rock it self!😉 This was limestone, and this island has been known for it’s fine rock after blasting! We have even had blasters out there to produce boulders ment to build a pier, but even with extremely large distance between the hole and a different ignition pattern, the blast turned out to be just powder..🤪
Extremely fun to load tho!😅 We had production like nowhere else at this project, seeing numbers at the end of the day we wouldn’t think was possible!!😄
Thank you so much for watching and for your comment!🙏😊
Bra film 🙂
Takk!🤗 Og takk for at du tok en titt!🙂
Looks efficient with that setup. How many liters of fuel/ton of rock loaded?
Hi!🙋♂️ I really appreciate that you enjoyed it!🙏
This is about the best productivity I can and have achieved with this machine! At best we filled the 10000 tons rock barge in 5,5 hours!🤩
At maximum efficiency, the machine consumed about 75 liters of fuel per hour, while loading up to 1700 tons per hour!!
50 ton payload on the trucks in just 4 passes is nothing but fun to achieve!😍
I need a cat driver
Those 772s are nice little toys aren't they. Not a 793 for sure...
Hehe, you are probably right about that, but I guess my 390 is a small toy compared to a machine made for loading 793's as well..🤪😅 I am satisfied with the match between the trucks and the excavator! 😉 While I load 772's in 4 passes, I guess I would have to throw 40 passes on a 793..😂
How many pounds or tons per truck or do you measure pounds or tons, this is impressive
What are the ring buoys on the front of the trucks for?
The rings on the truck's, are one of our safety measures when working nearby and on water!🙂 The trucks were driving on and off a barge, if they would end up in the water, these rings would float up and indicate where the truck are on the bottom.
It's really not easy to search for sunken machines in rescue operations, this rings are ment to do it easier finding both operator and machine! 😋
Would this rock be around 1600kg per cu m?
Some of the rock was around 1600! But mostly, the weight of the trucks suggested that this limestone weighed up to over 1800/m3!😄
Mostly the loads maxed the trucks in 4 buckets! We drove the trucks over a scale weight several times a day, so we could keep track of the tons we moved!😊
Yoshh hello iaorana🌺
Bro I have the impression that you are idling, and also that the engine is not at full speed full power too!! 😅

If you want to dig faster don’t go to full reach when excavating most of your dirt, build the trench a little higher so you don’t have to lift so much. your costing yourself a lot of time, it’s good but you could be a lot faster
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me!🙂
Well, what I do, is quite intentional.
@@norwegianearthmovers You know your shit
I prefer those slides to go down in the trenches, instead of submerging my undercarriage of rock..😅
This way of loading leads me to over 300 loads per shift, my record so far is 397 in one day. If you could show me a way to work even faster, I would surely pass 400 loads per shift🙃
@@norwegianearthmovers only way I could see to speed you up is give you a 6015 lol
Catarpillar👍👍👍👍
Good video but slow operetor
Thank you!🙏😊 Well, I will try to explain my choices in my operation..😅
This is the method that I have loaded the highest amount of materials! Even though it may seem slow, there is not any other way I can ever manage to load faster..🤪
Right here I load 10 000 tons in just over 5 hours, this is more than twice the capacity caterpillar themselves claim the 390 can do!
Check out my lates videos, where I’m loading on another site! There you will se faster cycles, but the truckloads takes longer time to fill since I need to add one more bucket to each truck..😝
Here I spent a little more time on filling each bucket properly full, to be able to 4 pass the trucks!
My record in a day was 397 truckloads in this video, on the site I am now I have only 300 truckloads a day due to that extra pass..
Thanks for watching and for sharing your thoughts!🙏😊
@@norwegianearthmovers my record is 570 truck in 10h greece full load truck
@@gfairwarzone7618 that is great!👌👍 However, I guess that you have different materials to work with!😉 This rock is hard to excavate, and each bucket holds over 13 tons of rock! My bucket weighs 8,5 tons itself, so each pass is a heavy lift!😄 What kind of material do you load? Guess that you are one of the guys 3 passing those road trucks?🙂
Doubel side methode
The most efficient way, that I can load the trucks!🤩
@@norwegianearthmovers great methode

Indeed!🤩👌

Not efficient at all, company owner needs a bigger excavator
Liikjjjjjjjjjjjkjkk
excavator driver is very slow..... this excavator could at least to 30% more if he would dig right
Hehe, you are free to come and show me how to make it work faster..😉😅
@@norwegianearthmovers just dont go always full deep, cut it from top layer.... then u need way less power and be much faster
It would be a steep uphill for the trucks if I don’t go all the way down, and I would be even slower because I wouldn’t have a chance at filling the bucket!😅
We have done a lot of trials and attempts on other techniques, but this method beats all other methods with 50 - 100 loads every day, even if someone would find this way slow!
My best day ever, was in a “high pile” - loading 397 loads just like this in 12 hours!😄 It is not possible to make it more efficient than that, but it includes higher excavation of the rock slides, as you suggested!😉
