    OMG, that is so cool ! I have 5 x TS0601 since last year and I had to create 13 automations & 84 helpers to manage my thermostats fully automated.
    In my case, I have mainly these 2 conditions for the heating to trigger : Time range (start & stop) & presence
    I really hope they would add later time management on this integration 😍
    In the meantime, thank you @KartoffelToby for this development and thank you @BeardedTinker for presenting it to the community, you are right, this should (hopefully) at some point be integrated to HomeAssistant!
    Take care, stay warm 😉

    I am installing it right now, and will test thoroughly. Everything what you showed here I did in Node Red (2 pages almost, for each TRV separately). If I can simply replace it with this integration I will "buy him a coffee" of course ;-). Yes, using external temperature sensors is a must - I opened the TRV and inside there is simple NTC sensor - very inaccurate and seriously: totally affected by the distance to the radiator (it shows 28C few minutes after TRV got open and hot water is in radiator) while room temperature sensor still shows 17C. Let me check it all and will update here ;-) Thanks again for bringing it here

    • @BeardedTinker
      @BeardedTinker  ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome! Tado has OKish sensors - there is not that big impact on radiator heat to measured internal temperature, but I am considering to add in 2 rooms external sensors just for that.
      Really interested to hear how it works out for you.

    I noticed today it is up to 1.0.0-beta44 . That looks like it might be getting close to coming out of beta.
    Fantastic little card and I do think this is a good replacement for the native HA home assistant thermostat, though I can see that some people would like the simpler functionality of the native one, so definitely room for both. :)

    • @BeardedTinker
      @BeardedTinker  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you 😍 It still needs few more things to make it even better, but it's good idea that you customise and remove functionality you don't need. HA should have something similar and customisable too. But simpler can be good too...

      I prefer the simple thermostat look over the better thermostat, if they offered that choice of design, that would be fantastic as currently it takes up too much space

    • @rolandrohde
      @rolandrohde ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think this has a lot of potential, but it will only achieve peak usefulness if it grows to a point where it combines indoor, outdoor and weather forecast data with not only the room thermostats but also the heating system itself. And then of course a clever algorithm that gives you just the right amount of power to hest with maximum efficiency.
      Getting all that sorted and also making it work with various heating systems (electric, heat pump, gas, oil - Radiators, floor, wall or ceiling heaters, A/C heaters) would be a mammoth projet though...and then combining it with something like excess solar energy...it would be a dream come true for users, but a nightmare for developers...🙈

    • @BeardedTinker
      @BeardedTinker  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can't as there are just too many variations that you can make. For example group all 4 in one virtual valve, or have as 3 devices. Or every device for itself.
      Then it also depends on thermostat or heating controller you're using - is it simple relay, some smart system such as nest or tado, or more simpler Zigbee/WiFi thermostat.
      Also it depends if you're heating via boiler/heater or you live in a flat that's hooked to heating plant.
      It all depends on specific use case.

    • @BeardedTinker

      Does it corrects itself after some time or you have to recreate it? It cna take few minutes for sensors to get data in HA and until all data is available Better Thermostat can be unavailable. This again, depends on sensors you are using - if for example temp sensors report state every 10 minutes, you can have that long lag for it.
      Also be careful with DHT22 - they are no known for accuracy - but if you're using them for example with ESPHome, you could calibrate them to compensate on wrong readings (if you haven't done that already).
