Samasama means “you are welcome” in Bahasa Melayu and Bahasa Indonesia language and Sama-sama
means “together” in the Filipino tongue. Inspired by the music Nazam Pribumi, which means “the promise of our
natives”, Samasama as a contemporary dance piece is a call to remembrance of how our togetherness should
always be welcomed; how we as contemporary peoples of the world must always be together and one with our
nature, our society, & ourselves.
