Yep, that’s the one I’ve been talking about! The easy open jack. I don’t care for the extra nail nick, but I can live with it. Dig the senator, too. I have the coke bottle and can tell you the fit and finish is really excellent. Looking forward to these coming in! The cinnamon bone version is handsome, but damascus puts it out of my price range. So, yeah, these look good! Thanks for reviving and tweaking interesting old patterns! And for making them well, and making them affordable.

Roughrider knives are all extremely well built and an incredible value . Some folks have a hard time getting over the China part but you are getting a really great knife for a great price

I feel like a kid in a candy store with these options. Those are all great designs. Those burnt cinnamon bone scales really catch my eye. I’m really enjoying the Rough Ryder/Rider series you’re making.

The coke bottle is excellent and the black appaloosa bone is gorgeous! Happy to see more coming. Don't love the double nail nicks, either keep just the long pull or the nick at the easy open.

How about just a long pull nick and do away with the swage so you can grab the blade without slippage?

Really hate the look of the nail nick and long pull. Prefer just one, I do think I may pick up a Senator though
Having a long, straight pull closer to the pivot as well as the usual nail nick means you can cut the blade down into a whittling knife and still have somewhere to catch a nail for deployment

Yes, large toothpick and a large stockman with the caplifter/screwdriver like the RRR. I would have liked to see the stealth for the fixed blade.

*sheath. Yes most likely nylon but leather would put that little fixed blade over the top. Looks like it will be a nice little edc pocket fixed blade. I would even prefer kydex over nylon.

They all look great! What I really want though is a medium toothpick in either/both of these that also has a bolster lock similar to what’s on the red sawcut bone one 🙏

The Streamline model looks spectacular for EDC. I'm curious about the sheath that will come with it, whether or not it has aa pocket clip. If not, would it be easy to add one.

When are the rest of the models in this series going to be available? Also wish that you all would make a Scout knife in this pattern. I’m guessing that would be pretty well received.
I like the spade series, like the cinnamon Bone, the doctor's knife is my favorite.
Easy open jack and streamline are on fire, the rest look great too and a Sunfish would lookk sick!

I believe that the Senator and Intern knives are based in part off of old "Congress" knives. Those always had a small coping blade for sharpening writing quills.
The history of knives is a long and varied one and we love bringing back little known or forgotten about patterns

The cinnamon bone damascus fixed blade is it. Looks like a perfect fixed blade pocket knife. Hopefully those will be out and in stock the next time I am there. If so one will be leaving with me. Well, at least one.

I would love to see an old Cattleman pattern in the next iteration of these old knives. You could do a 3 1/2” model with a straight back, and a clip, spey, and punch blade to be really traditional, or a clip, spey, and sheepsfoot model to have a more traditional but more useful stockman pattern. Not many folks use a punch blade anymore, but I love them. Thanks TC. I know that you can make this happen for me. To do it really like the old timers made it, have a cut out on the off side for the fingernail to dig out the punch blade. I will definitely have to get a couple of these.

These are nice. i know which ones I'll grab. I would like to see a revamped working man series with more serious color neutral bone bone or stag maybe deep dark grey black ruff micarta idk with locking blades darker/deeper pocket clips. A nice elephant toe with a pocket clip with a small worn cliff and the rhino style blade or bottle opener. Or even a utility locking blade with the sunfish style handle and a lock. T10 with that titanium coating to stop rust some what for awile would be nice to

I only wish you would have the knives in stock when the brand new catalog comes out. There are four different knives I want from your Christmas catalog but not one of them is currently in stock.
Researched this video, when will the fixed blades be available and what type of sheath. A drop in leather will work well with them.

But for me a double nail nick or so, is aesthetically horrible on the blade. I'm sorry. I'm going to buy a couple of copies anyway, because this series is really beautiful. Please put more lockback on them.

What steel are you using?
Fixed blade with burnt bone and Damascus. Hope it comes with a leather sheath! How soon? I have several Rough Ryder knives they they compare favorably with more expensive knives.

I love these but my only suggestion would be that it would be nice to see RR knives slim down a little.

@@SMKWcom just got my Black Appaloosa and it is nice. Perfect in just about every way, definitely nicer than the Case knives I've bought over the past few years.
Dang it! I thought I was sort of done buying series of Rough Ryder knives, just the occasional pattern recently has been enough. These Appaloosa Spade blades look like a set that will be following me home. That E-Z Open Jack is already talking to me as is the Coke bottle model. If that is not bad enough, you show that Burnt Cinnamon Bone scale material; what's a mother to do?
On the easy open knives the 2 long pulls look a little goofy in my opinion. I would suggest that there should be one long pull or just the one near the easy open recess. Other than that they look great. Just my opinion anyway.

Depends on what you are whittling. They are great for whittling basswood, green wood, or something similar.

Um, no, we are not. Even some of us smarter old-timers recognize these old slip joint folders are a dying breed. In fact, I think the only slip joint I have seen someone pull out and actually use in the last 10 years has been SAKs
Weird...We see more made now than ever and sales on them as well are only going up, not to mention several great companies that are making modern slip joints
This may be the only Capital Intern that doesn’t suck

3 Things:
Make more of your existing models with blue jigged and smooth bone
Make more of your existing models with blue denim micarta
Work on QC consistency. I've had to return very high number of rough ryder slipjoints... blade play, weak springs, mushy stops, shield inlays falling out, etc...This includes the rough ryder reserves at the 50$ pricepoint.

I would rather have NO shield than one that’s glued in and will fall out. If rough Ryder started pinning in the shields I would buy many as I’m sure even great eastern cutlery fans would as well. If rough Ryder pinned shields and came up with a date system tang stamp they would be the perfect slip joint. Yes I would pay more for these features.
