Funny that mention of the lack of running game. There certainly hasn’t been much of one to mention, but I actually don’t think it’s the fault of Miller or Justice. Their yards per carry average is decent enough, I think Jam is almost 7 ypc and Haynes is just below 6 ypc if I remember correctly. They just aren’t getting enough carries. We’re either killing drives, or attempting to pocket pass with a DT quarterback, or simply giving up on the run. I’m just hoping to see a team wide (including coaches) improvement this Saturday ! RTR
Exactly. Bama’s running game has been fine when Sheridan commits to it. Every game, there has been a drive or two where Bama easily runs it down the defense’s throat, and then promptly abandons the run after that. I don’t know if Sheridan is just seeing the D adjust and not wanting to make them stop the run instead of just waving the white flag due to the formations, or if it’s just penalties and negative plays forcing the pass. But there’s a lot to clean up.

Diehard Bama fan here. The second half of the UGA game instilled a tremendous amount of anxiety within the squad, and we've yet to recover from it. Trust me, everyone in that building is hearing and feeling the negativity radiating from the fanbase, and it's not helping. Watch any two minutes of the previous three games, and you'll see a buncha dudes trying to win the game by themselves, not trusting the man next to them. Something's gotta click with these young men that brings them together and allows them to fully trust one another. My college coach used to always tell us, "If you're thinkin', you're stinkin'!" Alabama usually has one worthless down, maybe two out of their first two downs. They have to change that. Having to gain 7+ yards on third down or punt makes the offensive task very tough. They also need to put some pressure on the opposing QB with blitzes and edge rushes to take some pressure of the DBs.
Bamas problem is that this year they played Georgia very early. That game was a roadmap in what schemes to use and how to beat Alabama, it showed teams what did not work in the first half and what did work in the second half. Normally Alabama has Texas current schedule and gets a cakewalk the first half of the season. This year everyone got a tutorial from the best defensive coach in the country on how to shut this Alabama team down early enough in the year to take advantage of it.

How bout this theory. Bama isn't very good. Bama is a mistake prone team which means the opposition always is in the game. The -players aren't playing hard, interceptions, missed assignments upfront, bad reads, defensive personal fouls on 3rd and 10 stops, running past the QB on rushes, losing containment, weak attempts at arm tackles. Vandy's coach said it best. Just hang around and let Bama make their mistakes then win the game. I'm a Bama fan but Mizzou wins this 27-23 as Bama continues to kill itself with self inflicted wounds. Between the draft, grads and transfers Bama lost 65 players in the spring. A normal year you lose 20-25 players. the top 5 roster is a myth. Bama isn't a top 5 roster in the SEC. I have no clue about this game, but I could see UGA beating Texas because of Kirby Smart. I predicted that UGA would win because of Smart (check the live feed on Thursday). You had said texas was a slow starter and from what we saw them do in the first half against a non impressive sooners game made it all the more clear that they werent going to put up points against GA. How bout this theory. Bama isn't very good. Bama is a mistake prone team which means the opposition always is in the game. The -players aren't playing hard, interceptions, missed assignments upfront, bad reads, defensive personal fouls on 3rd and 10 stops, running past the QB on rushes, losing containment, weak attempts at arm tackles. Vandy's coach said it best. Just hang around and let Bama make their mistakes then win the game. I'm a Bama fan but Mizzou wins this 27-23 as Bama continues to kill itself with self inflicted wounds.
