Why in the..... would someone give thumbs down?!? Nice bird. Went to lunch with my wife this past Sunday in our Tailwind. A Hummel Bird with 80 hours flew in. A beautiful polished aluminum bird. I would really like to fly one...or build a two place version.
maybe with some modifications like carbon fiber pieces in some places, it could barely make ultralight requirements. That would be cool to see, a canopy, front engine, low wing, tail dragging, metal skinned ultralight. Pretty much a mini warbird except for the engine.
Hey, it's a Registered Experimental Amateur Built airplane! Who would believe it. Usually these Hummels have NO registration or Special AW Certificates. You hear, "I fly it like an ultralight." What the hell does that mean? It means the builder has NOT done what NEEDS to be done, paperwork wise, and inspection wise, to be LEGAL, It is a hassle - have done it 3 times. Nice plane.
Nice! Thank you for sharing. Have a blessed day.
Nice sounding engine

It can still be an ultralight. I don’t think the FAA is checking the weight of every aircraft at the airport to see if they are part 103 compliant.
This plane, with the canopy WILL NOT make the 254lb weight - NOT an ultralight.
@@mmichaeldonavon yes.. did you read the description?
Can't wait to fly my 80 model Hummel

💗Very beautiful airplane really 💗
Looks like it has a low wing loading...lots of service area. Deadstick would be like glider.
Do you still have your hummel and would you be interested in selling it
Haha Holy shit. the thing lifted off in like two blocks distance.
