Amazingly amazing! Really inspiring one. It simply is all about having fun with learning, mastery of teaching & a perfect combination of creativity & innovation!
Just a note for others, if you are in the northern hemisphere, choosing a south-facing window will help. This will maximize the sunlight coming in to warm (evaporate) the water. If you don't have a south-facing window in your classroom, opt for east-facing (best in morning) or west-facing (best in afternoon) over north-facing. North-facing windows will have the least amount of direct sunlight coming in. Make sure to point out that runoff is not visibly present (running down the inside of the baggie could moreso be conceptualized as precipitation, rather than runoff). You can put a few legos (connected in stairstep fashion) in one corner to represent a hill (with the potential for runoff) if you want. Legos have an uneven surface on top which would mean droplets might be more likely to form.
+Kyle Bryer The students will be able to understand the process better if they can see it more clearly so the medium-large ziplock bags work best. Just not so big that it falls of the window!
Thanks a lot. Also, is the water that becomes precip, condensation clear because the molecules in the dye too heavy to get into the atmosphere as vapor.

Thanks, Jared, for this simple way to show the water cycle that I can use with my 1st graders in class. Love the added color, by the way. =)

wow this was the best water cycle experiment I've ever seen
Great video. I do this every year ever since I saw this video with my 3rd grade students. Thanks Mr. Mehler.

does the bag need to be on a window? and for how long?
It's needs to be on 24 horas
can we use blue paint because we dont have blue food dye
will this experiment work if you tape the bag to the wind back there is no sun/ or heat?
If I am doing this in the fall cold weather
no, it won't be hot enough to evaporate you, idiot,
Thank you!
Does any size bag work better than another? thanks.

+Kyle Bryer Of the water and dye mixture, only the water portion evaporates into condensation!
Really good demostrations and videos....get rid of the closed captioned though! takes away from the video
Nice!
please whats the name of water colouring
