    Beautiful. You have a lot of patience and talent to make this into a twin quilt. My left handed ness is getting in the way of me mastering this. I’ll have to try again when I’m more awake.

    I haven't crocheted since I was a teenager, and I never learned anything past the basic single stitch, double stitch and granny square. You have explained how to do this stitch thoroughly so that it is easy for me to follow. I am more of a visual learner, and I appreciate you taking the time to explain this stitch. I am looking forward to making something using it. I will definitely be watching more of your videos to learn new stitches.

    Just discovered your channel and am in love with your work! This is a stunning stitch pattern but if you are a tight worker like I tend to be, this gets very difficult to do. I am determined to do this stitch and am forcing myself to work looser. This has also proved not so good because my stitches are not uniform so my work is looking much like it did when I first started crocheting as a child! Practice will make perfect!! Thanks for your very clear instruction videos.

    I've made many afghans in what we called "The Dishcloth Stitch" that is just your forward-backward post weave, but it's just straight up and down. Your slanted version is really so much prettier! For those people who have never done "post weaving" maybe just the more simplified dishcloth/basketweave would be good to start with. Though I did just subscribe, I didn't look through all your videos yet to see if you showed that pattern. Once they get the hang of that, this diagonal weave will be a breeze. The post weaving is super fast compared to having to carefully pick up and crochet a single stitch as most patterns require. It spoils you forever on "ordinary" stitches! Thank you for uploading and for taking such pains to explain. It's not an easy one to translate from fingers to English :)

    I’m getting the hang of the Celtic weave now 😃. I was wandering if you could design a Celtic weave shrug sweater with your way of doing the Celtic weave stitch? Your version seems so much easier for me to understand. I have tried other Celtic weave tutorials and I couldn’t figure it out ‘til I came across your version of it. I love the idea of doing the single stitches all the way across to help get the next row going. I’ve not had any troubles starting the next row yet. I’m still working on the criss crossing part right now. I’ll see how it goes when I get to the other end 😏.

    LOVE, LOVE the blanket. Love the colours you used. I have started to crochet a blanket with your tutorial as well. I would just like to add the following. When using a multi-coloured yarn, make sure you see something that was knitted of the same yarn. I chose a yarn that looked so pretty and light on the ball, but now it is much darker and brighter than I would have liked it to be, not that it is a problem as I am knitting it for my granddaughter. I also had to add more stitches and it still looks as if it is not going to be very wide - more for a single bed. Anyways love your tutorials. Very understandable. Please continue to add more. Oh and just so you know. I am from South-Africa. So you see you actually have a very wide audience.

    • @irmar
      @irmar 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the yarn she uses also looks much better on the ball than on the afghan. It's often the case, sadly. When you look at them in the shop you go "wow", and then when you start crocheting, it's a mess of random stripes.

    • @amybaker5241
      @amybaker5241 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually the color work up on name brand multicolored yarn is usually meant for a more basic stitch so doing a more complicated stitch that uses more yarn will definetly effect the way that the colors should lay.

  • @amygresl3691
    @amygresl3691 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the tutorial! You do a really good job teaching. I've been crocheting for over 40 years and still learning. On the back to eliminate the holes I did a deep double crochet. It helped full the hole, bring up that flap a secure it, and made it less bulky. Downside.. If working with varigated yarn it's hard to find the posts by not entirely difficult. I did every other row but I'm sure you could do every row. It does give it a full look with out the holes which may be preferable depending on the project. For a cowl like I'm making I think less bulk in the back is better.

    • @amygresl3691
      @amygresl3691 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Supposed to say drop double crochet into the singles of the 3rd row just at the holes.

    I love your version of the Celtic Weave. I’ve been struggling with the stitch for a long time. The problem I have when I’m trying to learn it is that my strip flips over occasionally on the wrong side instead of staying on the side I’m working on. I’m currently trying this stitch with a 4.5 crochet hook using a sport weight yarn which is helping with that a whole lot. I may have questions to ask you soon 😃. I figured if I put a stitch mark on the first Celtic weave after I finish it then go do the next one and do the same thing. That helped keep it on the side I'm working on. I'm just about done with those. I'll keep you posted on the next row.

    i found that sometimes i accidentally do the wrong set of two and have to undo it. i was thinking of using markers for the harder to see sets of two until this becomes more natural. Im going to make a baby afghan out of this pattern but with a fuller yarn to hide the holes better. the swatch i did didnt have visible hole unless you pulled it apart. thanks so much for this pattern. I found in on pintrest and youtube searched it.

    love this stitch but I believe it is a yarn hog so I would just use it for small projects but I do think it is a great stitch

    The noise of the carpenters does not bother me as much as the interruption for advertisement just when you were in a crucial spot of watching how to do the stitch. You are such a good teacher Meladora

    VERY cool stitch! Tutorial is great, I'm getting ready to watch again. I am very visual, so tutorials are great for me, but I like to watch them multiple times so I saturate my brain with it! Have you, or CAN you use this in a circular pattern, like for a slouchy hat? I'm wanting to try a really different stitch for one, and this is very cool! Thanks again for posting!!

    This is so beautiful! I love how both sides look. . I don't remember if you mention the yarn you used here, but it would be super if you did. . The colorway is very appealing!

      This is from the Alize line, I didn't add any to the shop, I have some at home but planned on finishing the afghan I have with it. But can check to see if the yarn is still carried by the store out here and put some on the shop if you want.
