      Honestly, having a few bicycles stolen over the years, I know it definitely isn't as the thieves would strip the bike out of all accessories attached to it so it doesn't get recognised anywhere.

    Great in depth video but it would be nice if you compiled all the main points into the first 30s or so just for those of us that are just browsing TH-cam for different products to look for the best one. I just want to quickly but something decent! 🙂

    Presumably there isn't a setting where the light is currently off, but the 'brake light increase' feature is on i.e. the unit operates like a car brake light .... lights up from off on braking?

    • @wiggle
      @wiggle  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi David, that would actually be a real nice feature...but not available at the moment. I'll feed this back to Vodafone as it's a cracker idea! Maybe in a future firmware update...

    • @paullevy-adophy9198
      @paullevy-adophy9198 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That feature has been available from the outset. You simply disable the light function via app or harrdware button, and the unit will act as a brake light only ....just like a car. So during daylight hours you can have brake light and during nightfall you can switch the light on to get dual functions of light & brake light. It was one of the very first things I checked for when I bought it back in June..So no need for a firmware update as the feature is there already.

    Is there an option to switch off the alarm bit but leave the GPS tracking on? I can set a range on the app so it tells me when it is out of that range and it would be great if that's possible without the alarm going off, so basically you would track the bike in stealth mode.
    Also how does one turn off the damn really loud alarm off when one accidentally triggers it? Other than trying to attach the light bit again ASAP.

    • @wiggle
      @wiggle  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Some good questions! I believe you can turn the alarm off and still track the bike 👍 so stealth tracking is a goer! you can turn the alarm off in the app... but that's still going to take a few seconds to sort out if the alarm starts going off 😆.

    • @ireneartho3721
      @ireneartho3721 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@wiggle Thanks. Stealth mode might not be a good idea after all if they just get rid of the alarm first.
      My solution when I first triggered the alarm was to sit on it so it's at least dampened down a bit 😆 I was then able to think about how to turn it off. I just pray it won't go off due to wrong GPS signal thinking my bike has moved! It'll wake up the whole neighborhood!!

    • @wiggle
      @wiggle  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ireneartho3721 to sit on it 😆The alarm is triggered by a movement sensor in the unit so no bad GPS data should set it off unexpectedly. Thinking about it, you could use it on a whole host of things you don't want to get nicked 😅

    Love the styling. It duplicates a few features that a smart phone will do. I like the taillight reacting to breaking. Would be interesting if it detected traffic that was too close to you. How robust is the device? Not for a crash but just a drop test? Does the plastic(?) feel premium? I like the alarm and love the ability to check on my bike while at work.

    • @wiggle
      @wiggle  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Deane, apologies for the late reply on this one! Tail light breaking is a mega feature on this I think they should have promoted more! Device has held up well after a few weeks testing, plastics pretty solid and doesn't seem like cheap quality that would crack/snap easily. Cool concept and the start of a new bike tracking movement I think 👍 Thanks for the comment

    so if I grab my bike at lunch time to nip to the shop but I left the light charging at my desk, will the alarm go off?
    Be great to see some options for mounting, maybe between saddle rails, or inbetween seat stays. Saddle bags, mudguards etc can make it tricky to find a free spot to mount on the seatpost, especially for shorter riders with a lower saddle height

    • @wiggle
      @wiggle  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Richard, very good question! The alarm can be turned off via your phone app so compleatly doeable without the light. Good point on mounting options, i'm sure it would fit on most thinner tubular frames as the biggest setting on it is pretty huge! Hope that helps

    We’re they clever enough to have it on the side of the unit so for longer rides you can connect a power bank or does light need to be disconnected?

    • @wiggle
      @wiggle  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A very good point, and the answer is no. They are hidden in the body and can only be charged when the two units are separated. So if your a long distance cyclist looking to use this...that could be a fatal flaw! Thanks for the comment Iain👍

      Hi Mark, 100% they could. The old trick of running the bike lock through the saddle rails could help. You'd just hope the alarm would give you a few seconds of sound whilst they were fiddling.

      @@Battl3field it sounds like ya live in London or one of our other rough city areas. Yeah, that ram raiding of cyclists is now a common occurrence. Which is why I am furious with our wimp waste of space lazy arse cops, do-gooder namby-pamby bleeding heart liberal social workers, wimp judiciary and namby-pamby laws.
      For starters, given the COVID situation and environmental concerns, theft of a bike or handling a stolen bike should ALWAYS lead to a custodial sentence and YES even for so-called youths. Next, anyone involved in stealing of bikes should have the past six years of their finances examined, with the assumption being that all their funds are derived from crime (this power already exists in our law but lazy arse Crown prosecution Service don't bother to use it except for grandstanding headline grabbing cases), and if there's no good explanation for the source of their income then confiscate every damned thing they own including their damned Nike trainers and Playstation.
      Next, if they can't help the police clear up crime by telling the cops who their contacts are for disposal of stolen bikes, then they should be given an addition 33% on the prison sentence.
      Next, we should introduce a law similar to that which was introduced in Texas many years ago. Namely, in defence of your property, person or home, you are entitled to use deadly force and any such force, whether resulting in death or not, should be deemed in law to be reasonable. So the prosecution will have the difficult task, in order to secure your conviction, of showing that you were not protecting property etc.
      I think those things would put victims back in the driving seat. As it stands now, the lowlife vermin waste of oxygen scum of this world, well at least here in the UK, seem to have the upper hand.

    Hi all
    Quick wee customer review after owning this for around a month/70 miles, great light/tracker for the measly sum of £2.99 for the months subscription.
    In my opinion will it stop a thief, probably not nothing will but at least you know when it was no longer part of your possessions, provided the potential thief doesn’t have a brain cell you will also know exactly where it is white in seconds of it moving.
    I’ve found using my mirror that drivers behind are a lot more aware of my presence with it on, not sure about the brake light function as I didn’t even know it was available, for the £9.99 it cost me from Vodafone it’s worth every penny, anything that keeps you visible is a definite needed upgrade.
    Briefly on the battery output I’ve found it lasts me around the 2/3 days or approximately 50 ish miles of riding on permanent lighting as appose to flashing.
    Safe riding.
