*loud music* I WANT TO GO BACK TO CRIF'S AND TRY OUT SOME MORE HOT DOGS! LET ME KNOW WHICH ONE YOU WOULD LIKE FOR ME TO TRY OUT. THE CHILI DOG WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE TRIP. ENJOY THE WEEK GUYS!
Congratz cool sponsor nice hoodies '80s '90s vibe. Love the street level tours bro 👏 Edit tripped out retro punk spot 🎶🎶 Cold days a chili dog diced o's mustard snap kickin' 💥
Congrats on the 50,000! It’s only climbing. Great channel, Chris. Thanks for the entertainment. Get my NY “fix” through you, since we live down south now. Looking forward to the next vid!
The dogs are Thumann’s made for deep frying. Same dogs are served at Rutts Hut, Hirams, and plenty of north Jersey spots. Chris Antista, original owner, patterned Crifs after Rutts. The New Yorker is a Thumann’s all beef prepared on the griddle.
'Wont you take me to, Funkytown' Sorry, couldnt resist. 😎 Another thing most hot dog customers do not understand is how much cost goes into bringing them the sandwiches and then profit margins to make a living. We vendors have to account for every little thing. Cost of Goods such as the dogs, buns, condiments, ice (for drinks), drinks, wax paper, foil, paper boats, napkins, gasoline (for those of us that travel daily), propane, etc. Its endless sometimes (feels it at least), but all those costs go into each. And on a slow day, it really digs into our pockets. 😒 Goes for brick and mortar shops too. Something to think about people. Its real and its life.
First time I ever went to Crif Dogs was in October of 2001, they had only been open for a few months and I remember that they had a small tv to the right side of the counter with a PS2 and they somehow had an advance copy of the game Grand Theft Auto 2 that hadn't even been released yet playing on it... I was blown away. They used to have a lot more decor and arcade games too. The bar through the phone booth opened a few years later, but it's a really cool place. My favorite dog was the Sour Cheese dog, it had their cheese sauce and long dill pickle slices on it - sounds weird but was delicious. They also had some pretty good waffle fries and $2 cans of PBR... haven't been down to St. Marks in years, thanks for the walk down memory lane.
The Spicy Redneck was another one they have had on the menu since they opened, used to get that as well. I also remember the Philly Tubesteak, Chihuahua, Tsunami and Good Morning being on the list and trying some of those. The Lil Ma definitely was not available back then lol.
More than likely it was GTA3 and not GTA2 given that 2 dropped in 99 😊 however they may have had an advanced copy because Rockstar Games HQ is not far from this location. Maybe they had a hookup?
Glad you like those rippers! You may like a lot of the NJ dogs if you like the deep fried dogs. Try Ruttd Hutt, Hot Grill, & Hirams if you find yourself in Northern NJ one day
Love your channel Chris! 💗 Thanks for taking the time to make the vids! I've been wanting to ask you for a while. I don't live anywhere near NYC, what type of spicy brown mustard do you folks have on most of your dogs? What is the closest brand that I could purchase in the store or online? I've noticed there are many types/grades of spicy brown mustard 🤔
Rockland Bakery.... I've been around long enough when you could walk through and pull the bread, rolls, bagels right off the conveyor as they come out of the oven. You need to head to Rockland Bakery and do a segment from there. One of my local hot dog places puts so much sweet chopped onions on a dog that I order one with and one without and put 1/2 the onions from the first dog onto the second one. More isn't always better - the balance needs to be there.
There's also a speak easy bar inside Crif dogs. You pick up the phone in the phone booth there and get on the waiting list. It's very small inside. I went a few years ago to both and the chili dogs were really good after a few drinks.
Pork and beef dogs are my favorite...we have a local brand in the Boston area..Deutschmacher...made by Kayem that is my fav. Great review Chris...would definitely try Crif when in NY
Another good review, but when you grew,up having dirty water dogs, for 25 cents...8 bucks for one...i could of fed my block in Astoria. 32 hot dogs for 8 bucks....lol
I prefer my hotdogs with Mustard and Kraut... that's it. Sometimes I'll order a hotdog with onions... you know the one with the red sauce. So if I'm ordering 2 dogs, one will be with mustard + kraut and the other with onions only.
Fortune magazine did a study and found that 53% of inflation was caused by profit seeking the last few years. The biggest reason for the giant spikes in prices the last few years is because everyone wants to charge more and blame "inflation". It's why companies keep complaining about increased costs for them, yet have ever increasing profit lines. Corporate greed.
ALWAYS TRY A HOT DOG WITHOUT RELISH IT WILL OVERPOWER YOUR TASTE BUDS TRYING TO HELP YOU I VE BEEN HOT DOG HOPPING FOR FIFTY YEARS IN NEW YORK GOOD LUCK
They say pork sales are down in the US, but pork prices are at 120% on the market, buying. Confusing, Iowa is the leading pork producer in the land, but they say pork is not selling.
Glad that you took the hit as they look kind of skimpy for the price , not a big fan of places blaring out music when you are trying to eat , like your Econ Advise, please keep doing it as people need help when it comes to personal finance and looking for good deals. Keep up your great videos !
We had an average of 40-50% food inflation. (it means, some products went up by 200-500% and some others just by 10%, and I am talking about the very basic daily food products) Yours is like nada. zilch considerate it to ours. Just a margin of error.
I used to go to Crif Dogs for a simple dog with mustard and sauerkraut. Stopped going because of the beyond loud music. How about no music? Not everything needs a soundtrack.
Maybe the big name Halal carts by 50th street. The ones by Korea town have signs for $9 chicken or lamb with rice. I had a couple weeks ago and it hit the spot.
Wow, that music they play in the background is really annoying. I hate heavy metal rock music. Sounds just like a bunch of angry guys yelling into the mic. I would have to take my order to go.
Buying you a few Hot Dogs and a Gin/Tonic.
Thank you so much brother!!

Great Job Chris , Congrats on your sponsorship, I'll see you around town. Sound quality is 100%.
Love the shout out for Rockland Bakery. Really close to my hometown
I’ve been really loving your videos and just subscribed ❤
Yay! Thank you!
I've been there many times and find the New York Dog as my favorite but the Crif dog is a close second.
Loved this video and hot dog king in front of the met! Keep up the great videos! -From North Carolina here!
Just found this guy, don’t know why, but I love this!! Well done!
Thank you!
Chris love your channel ! Have you ever been to Hirams in Fort Lee NJ ? Their Dogs ARE a Solid 10 plus all day ! A must visit for any Hot Dog lover!
On the list.
I love Hiram's. Whenever I cross the GW, it's a default stop. Simple, tasty, great ingredients. And the prices are reasonable.
That looks like a really cool spot and the 🌭 🌭 look good too.
Hey Brother, have great family vacation, look forward to seeing your new feeds, Ording some new merch, bless ya!
Awesome thank you!
Crif, Papaya & Katz's, all hitter-friendly parks. And the wind was blowing out this day!

You're right, it was definitely GTA3 which was released later that month and yes, I think they had some Rockstar Games employees as customers.
Great vid as always Chris
Thanks 👍

Great review really enjoyed
How about a "little ma" - and a corn dog...I LOVE HOME BATTEREDCORN DOGS:)
Congrats on 2 years, btw!
Pork and beef dogs are my favorite...we have a local brand in the Boston area..Deutschmacher...made by Kayem that is my fav. Great review Chris...would definitely try Crif when in NY
Sounds great!
8:50 Not sour cream but cream cheese I think.
Have you tried Rutt's Hut in Clifton. They have the deep fried Rippers and a custom mustard relish.
You're right. The Chihuahua had the sour cream.
Love your channel, bro.
Would you ever try the chihuahua dog?? Would love to see it! Keep up the great content 😋
Chris I walked right by that place two weeks ago. I guess I’m made a mistake nice video.🇺🇸
Great explanation about food prices!!!
Glad you liked it!!
@@NYCHotDogStands I love all your videos! Really honest reviews!!! I'm addicted to street meat, homemade onion sauce is my crack lol
If you really liked the deep fried dogs, you should try Rutts Hut in Clifton NJ
Another good review, but when you grew,up having dirty water dogs, for 25 cents...8 bucks for one...i could of fed my block in Astoria. 32 hot dogs for 8 bucks....lol
Cool place chili dog takes the cake.
Those prices seem very reasonable to me. I live in Los Angeles and you’ll pay a lot more for a good hotdog here.
Pork and beef combo is called a frankfurter
Ah Crifs...always a good choice 🤤👍
Well im not going in there .....
Beers tattoos Szechuan ..... 🤣🤣🤣
Ohhhh come on! I hear a song out of it already! "..and all she wanted at the end of the day!, was Beer, Tattoos, and Szechuan!" 😂🤣🍺
love your new york accent!!!
Chris doesn’t have one.

PDT thru the phone booth. Famous for 86'ing Bill Murray
Wow, am surprised Crif Dogs is still there….started going there in 2007 haven’t been there since 09
Cool Spot

You have to go to the Bronx at 3 Ave and E 152nd St. The cart next to the youngland

10:58 that’s what she said, OH!
I love your work and the minimalist and mellow vibes of your vids!
My old go to spot. No mention of PDT (please don’t tell)? There is a speak easy that you can only access from inside of that Criff dogs
That's what the phone booth was about?
Yup exactly. Thats the entrance to the speak easy lol
has Chris ever tried Rutts Hut? Clifton, NJ rippers for deep fried dog
The key with rutts hut is the relish. Can't get with standard dirty water dog toppings
Cool place
Good dogs went there cpl times🌭🌭🌭🌭
"Our first sponsor is Paul's Boutique, and they're in Brooklyn."
Is the "speak easy" still in business? I believe it was through that phone booth across from where you sat.
Look at you getting sponsors
Oh yea!
🌭🌭Love the videos 🌭🌭
Yeah, don't get the scallions & sourcream dog 😞All in with the All In New Yorker & Chili Dog!!
They looked good
Cracking vid, thank you.
ALWAYS ADD CEESE TO THE CHILLI AND WHY WOULDNT A FRIED DOG HAVE A SNAP TO IT YOU ARE SLOWLY GETTING THERE KEEP UP WITH IT THE CHANNEL IS GROWING
Thank you
hey chris, what brand is the jacket ?
I think its Tasso Elba.
@@NYCHotDogStands Great.. Thank you
Tyson are closing their factory in a few months here in Perry, Iowa, 1300 people out of jobs, uff
They say pork sales are down in the US, but pork prices are at 120% on the market, buying. Confusing, Iowa is the leading pork producer in the land, but they say pork is not selling.
Thanks for sharing this update, it's important to be aware of the impact on the local economy.
There was a speakeasy behind the phone booth. Wonder if its still there…

🌭
The best hot dogs there by far are the tsunami and the chihuahua
Yes!! Will try that next!
Eat as is. Dont add mustard. Trust the chef!

Where? The US mitigated a lot of the inflation by being pro-active. In comparison to other countries.
You should start a 🌭 hotdogs business
If I make enough $$ with the channel, I would love to open up a small shop.
I used to go to Crif Dogs for a simple dog with mustard and sauerkraut. Stopped going because of the beyond loud music. How about no music? Not everything needs a soundtrack.
Yea Chilli dog looks way better
$8 for a hot dog? You can get a big plate of Halal food from a NY street vendor for $10.
Not anymore bro. Many are $13-16 now.
Maybe the big name Halal carts by 50th street. The ones by Korea town have signs for $9 chicken or lamb with rice. I had a couple weeks ago and it hit the spot.
I'll check it out
You can hit up Jongbro Rice Hotdog to. Its a legit Korean hot dog...you can tell by the clientele.
ive had a better pork, beef, chicken hot dog from a ball park packet at the grocery store
Wow, that music they play in the background is really annoying. I hate heavy metal rock music. Sounds just like a bunch of angry guys yelling into the mic. I would have to take my order to go.
Didn't like the ratio on those dogs. To many toppings.
SCALLION AND CREAM CHEESE NOT SOUR CREAM YOU KILLED IT WITH THE MUSTARD TRY WHAT THEY SELL YOU BEFORE ADDING ANYTHING DUH
NO!!
You want people to relax and enjoy the loud music? Sorry, any restaurant with loud music is a turn off.
