Ganeshotsav Berlin is a collaborative effort by Marathi Mitra Berlin @marathi.berlin and Ramanbaug Yuva Manch, organized under the guidance and blessings of Shri Kasba Ganpati Pune @shrikasbaganpati and Sri Ganesha Hindu Temple, Berlin.. This is the first 10-day Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav in Europe, aimed at fostering intercultural exchange between Germany and India. The festival also seeks to promote the Sri Ganesha Hindu Temple, Berlin currently under construction, while organizing cultural activities that showcase Indian folk culture and art to the world. Open to all for the entire 10 days, this event continues the legacy of Lokmanya Tilak, who initiated the festival to unite people and break social boundaries, a tradition we humbly uphold today to bring communities together.
Bringing you videos of procession happen on the streets of Berlin where At the heart of the procession is the Dhol Tasha Pathak, a traditional ensemble of drums and cymbals that is synonymous with Maharashtrian processions. This year, the Marathi Mitra Mandal invited the renowned Ramanbaug Dhol Tasha Pathak, a famous group known for their high-energy and synchronized drumming performances. The group, which hails from the historic New English School, Ramanbaug in Pune, is celebrated for its vibrant displays of traditional Marathi percussion, which are an integral part of festivals in Maharashtra, especially Ganesh Chaturthi.
