Gojo is simply too strong to develop the story. I can understand why the author wanted him sealed, he's basically a good guy Sukuna in terms of power running around freely, nobody being able to challenge him except for 20 fingers Sukuna. Imagine everything that happened after Gojo was sealed and now picture what would happen if he wasn't sealed. You can see how much control Sukuna had over the Shibuya arc and that still isn't his full power. As much as I would love Gojo being unsealed and just go on a rampage, it's understandable why he is sealed.
Gojo is awesome and too op but unfortunately not male lead so maybe to mature Yuji even more and not to overshadow him in the future much (you know if gojo was unsealed it maybe gojo who killed all the powerful opponent like he killed mohito instead of male lead) so author decided to sealed him temporarily

The author wrote himself into a box by making gojo stronger than the villains. So him getting sealed away/killed was the only alternative to keep the story interesting. Also Gojo overshadowed itadori even though itadori is the protagonist. He might come back if we get a stronger villain or itadori gets alot stronger

Possibility is he could kill all the people. Gojo has been show having difficulty while considering people as human due to six eyes. Since the death of geto gojo was nearly in his last leg after all geto was his best friend and when he learns that the people who he had finally been able establish some relationship are dead might send him into blind rage. But it was show in the manga gojo had already anticipated that something bad would happen as he had told yuta to look after Yuji so, it might not happen.
Tbh, Gojo can even beat full power sukuna. He should stay sealed for at least more than 20 chapters.. He's too op. Itadori doesn't even get time to shine because of Gojo.. So~
Several plot points that I think will require Gojo to comeback: 1. Finding out the spy 2. Catching up with the current situation/ finding out who was killed 3. His rebellion against the higher ups 4. Facing pseudo Geto one last time 5. Possible fight with Sukuna So Gojo will definitely be sealed for a while but I don’t think Gege will keep him there for the rest of the series. It could be possible that he’ll get out in the 2nd or 3r arc near the end of the series. It would be crazy though if Gege fleshed out the prison realm into some cutoff place that would end up dragging a lot of jujutsu sorcerers in and close to where Gojo is. Then at least half of these possible plot points could take place there, but these are just my thoughts 🤔

Spoiler warning Nah. It's not a plot armour. Gojo being sealed was decided early on. Kenjaku knows he can't defeat gojo in direct combat but even then he was confident in his plan that was because sealing gojo was his plan from the beginning. Kenjaku most probably became the host of geto to make sure sealing of gojo is completed. So, yeah Gojo was meant to be sealed and i think it is better than making other characters more powerful than gojo in first 100 chapters. Hanami being able to run away from Gojo can be seen as a plot armour but gojo was not serious about the situation as he could eliminate hanami easily and also he could have not chase after hanami to make sure Yuji wasn't attacked.

If a character survives the odds, one can claim they have plot armor. Honestly, I don't even see it as a necessarily bad thing either. It just something that is often necessary in action stuff. Gojo being trapped is just a variation on the mentor dying. In this case, he was killed, he was sealed. Another version is mentor loses their power (like MHA). Either way, the point is for MC to rise to the challenge (or in this case, fail colossally)
If you think about it, the reason the world didn't get destroyed by strong curses is because every couple centuries people like gojo are born to balance it out so humans dont go endangered. Of course even curses need humans to exist or they would vanish too. Wild to think about.

Toji could have killed gojo by cutting the head off completely. I believe Toji is the kind of person who confirms his enemy's death before leaving. But plot doesn't allow that to happen.
His head got pierced, and his brain got cut in half by the blade and that blade was no ordinary blade, that blade is bane of cursed energy i guess. And the attacker knew this well, he probably thought the job is done and went to finish his bounty reward.

Spoiler -- In the official jjk character book by Akutami sensei himself, stated that Gojo will be the one to tell Megumi who his father is, so it's safe to say that Gojo will be unsealed. Now, what is happening in the manga is before the unsealing.
He is no longer allowed to be known as a professional sorcerer, making him 'exiled' from the existing foundation of cursed users. The higher jujutsu rankings were scared of Gojo and once he was gone they could finally ban him without Gojo coming to kill them.
To think Toji cud have ended the strongest sorcerer right there if he just stabbed Gojo in the head with the inverted spear. Toji was on a different level for a guy with 0 cursed energy. Fatigue and stuff was a pretty strong factor in Gojo's defeat but even fresh, I think Toji cud have given Gojo a dangerous challenge regardless of win/loss. Can't sense Toji's ce, has pay to win tools in his arsenal and various other tricks to mess with Gojo's senses. Such a bad matchup for most sorcerers. But awakened Gojo is sth Toji will never be able to handle and that's fine. He played a really big role in the story and changed so many people and their lives Toji and Gojo, two of my fav characters in jjk. Can't wait to see the anime and watch his fight with Gojo

Nah. It's not a plot armour. Gojo being sealed was decided early on. Kenjaku knows he can't defeat gojo in direct combat but even then he was confident in his plan that was because sealing gojo was his plan from the beginning. Kenjaku most probably became the host of geto to make sure sealing of gojo is completed. So, yeah Gojo was meant to be sealed and i think it is better than making other characters more powerful than gojo in first 100 chapters. Hanami being able to run away from Gojo can be seen as a plot armour but gojo was not serious about the situation as he could eliminate hanami easily and also he could have not chase after hanami to make sure Yuji wasn't attacked.
Its not plot armor, it just plan that executed perfectly by kenjaku group/cursed family

If a character survives the odds, one can claim they have plot armor. Honestly, I don't even see it as a necessarily bad thing either. It just something that is often necessary in action stuff.
Gojo being trapped is just a variation on the mentor dying. In this case, he was killed, he was sealed. Another version is mentor loses their power (like MHA). Either way, the point is for MC to rise to the challenge (or in this case, fail colossally)

Toji could have killed gojo by cutting the head off completely. I believe Toji is the kind of person who confirms his enemy's death before leaving. But plot doesn't allow that to happen.

Toji was on a different level for a guy with 0 cursed energy. Fatigue and stuff was a pretty strong factor in Gojo's defeat but even fresh, I think Toji cud have given Gojo a dangerous challenge regardless of win/loss.
Can't sense Toji's ce, has pay to win tools in his arsenal and various other tricks to mess with Gojo's senses. Such a bad matchup for most sorcerers.
But awakened Gojo is sth Toji will never be able to handle and that's fine. He played a really big role in the story and changed so many people and their lives
