Hi, you need to figure out where the NO3 is coming from if your water source has high levels of NO3 that 50% change doesn't drop the NO3 by 50%, NOPOX won't help.
Hello where should the dosing line be placed in the sump. Atm its near the skimmer maybe my results have been effected by the skimmer drawing it up? Any advice where to place doing in the sump. First chamber is where my cheato is unfortunately cant give it up yet at po4 is at 2+ and no3 25 dose about 10ml daily in 500 liter setup thanks
I’ve had a bad outbreak of hair algae in my reefer 425xl that I’ve had up and running for a bout 18 months. My nitrate and phosphate levels always show very low, but I’m assuming it’s actually higher but the algae is using it. I feed frozen an a tiny bit of pellets. If I start using nopox will it help, or am I too late for this solution?
It can take some time to clean the rocks, as the rocks are filled with algae. It usually takes ~8weeks for NOPOX to start working. Start with a high dose of 3ml per 100l and allow it to work for several months till you see the algae starting to die off. It's a long process.
Keep using NOPOX and the Skimmer it will drop. The rocks probably weren't cleaned and cured which in turn releases NO3 to the system, or over feeding if you added fish already. Wait for the parameters to drop to the desired levels before moving on with the population.
You can, but it would reduce the PO4 removal efficiency as the flocks of bacteria containing the PO4 travel to the water and the skimmer removes them. The UV will kill some and re-introduce the PO4 back into the system.
PO4 accumulating can indicate that the skimmer isn't functioning as it should, maybe too much food (especially frozen) or RO water contamination- need DI filter. Feel free to contact our support to pinpoint your exact issue.
If you have a lot of algae in your tank they might give a false 0ppm reading as they remove the nutrients from the water. Start with a small dose and work your way up to 3ml per 100l until you see a significant reduction in the algae population, whitening of the algae on the rocks and gray matter coming from the rocks indication that bacteria is growing and cleaning the rocks, then reduce the dose and allow the nutrients to go up to the parameters recommended for your tank using this recipe guide: g1.redseafish.com/myrecipe/
I raise jelllyfish, in a 300 gal system, and i feed a lot of baby brine shrimp, that because of that nitrates go really high, should i treat the water like Sps ?
@@Redseafish I do have protein skimmer. The dose for my volume is 15 ml day, it’s 50 ppm nitrate. Been dosing for 15 days now. Still no drop on nitrates.
hey guys. i dose Nopox daily. i was wondering, does anyone know if using "Polyfilter" in your sump to keep your water clean is a bad thing to do, because it would be absorbing the Nopox, therefore useless? I just started using polyfilter to keep my water nice =)
Hi, We have no idea how polyfilter works and whether it would remove NOPOX from the water, it could be a good question to ask Polyfilter's manufacturer.
NOPOX will drop PO4, there could be a few reasons it didn't for you, as we talked about in the video. You should give it another try. The pellets' disadvantage as well as the other binders in the lack of controllability and maintenance of a certain level over time.
The skimmer should take care of that. That way in case of an overdose the Oxygen will not deplete. You need to add more than 3ml per 100l to cause that.
I've been dosing NOPOX for over 12 months at 8ml per day. Because I had very high nitrates that just never seemed to do down. I wondered why I could not keep SPS. I now assume due to no polyp extension this is why? I have now dropped my dose to 2ml per day. Hopefully No3 remains low and I get polyp extension. @@Redseafish
8ml for how much water volume what NO3 levels. Reach out to our support. They can help you figure it out. It's not a quick simple answer on YT comments section.
@@Redseafish definitely it will out compete but my question is does nopox have any effect on cheto because after dosing nopox my cheto disintegrating into small pieces
I also use this great product in my aquafile. I trust Red Sea items and have been using them for over 10 years!❤😊
Thanks for sharing!
6 foot tank no skimmer dosing 1 mil a day then doing 110 liters a week water changes is that OK cheers awesome video mate
You must have a skimmer for NOPOX to work properly.
Hi, I have low po⁴ 0.03 and high no³ about 100ppm- 50% water change won't even help.
I can use this product?
I have 125l aio tank

Where should I put the NOPoX? In the return pump or where the skimmer is?
The return pump, or the down flow where the flow is great.

Place it in the return chamber by the pump.

Do you sell the non-return valve?
No we do not.
I've been using this as part of your mature kit for my cycle. I'm on day 14 and my nitrate has skyrocketed to 30-50ppm. Any advice you can give?

Can I use a UV filter with Nopox? Is it better with or without?
You can, but it would reduce the PO4 removal efficiency as the flocks of bacteria containing the PO4 travel to the water and the skimmer removes them. The UV will kill some and re-introduce the PO4 back into the system.
Can a bio pellet reactor be used as well with carbon dosing?
Can i use this on a tank w/o a skimmer
How long do i need to use it
Question: if low no3 and high po4? Or the opposite
PO4 accumulating can indicate that the skimmer isn't functioning as it should, maybe too much food (especially frozen) or RO water contamination- need DI filter. Feel free to contact our support to pinpoint your exact issue.
Thank you for the answers but my question is, if the values of no3 or po4 are opposite, that is, one low and the other high, can we manage npx equal?
Or we stop administering
Should i turn off my protein skimmer when dose nopox
No
@@Redseafish just pour it to the sump when the skimmer still on?
can i use an algae scrubber while dosing?
No
When reading zero no3 and zero po4, how much nopox to dose then?
None. Its good to have some No3 and Po4 present in your tank. You may want to consider feeding more to raise your No3.

My po4 drops to almost 0.
But my no3 stays around 25esh ?
I also dose kalk
So don’t use macro algae at the same time?
We would advise not to.

For NOPOX to work you must have a protein skimmer. Depending on the desired water parameters your jellyfish need you can adjust the dose.

It's obligatory the use of skimmer? Or only with bacteria and nopox Y can reduce the nutrients?

He's actually real... We might have fed him too much.
Umm dilute methanol in a plastic bottle at a ridiculous mark up, seriously guys......
The plastic we use for our bottles and measuring cups are safe to be used with NOPOX. Give us a little more credit 😜
