    I've said it once and I'll say it again. There is something about black magic cameras that is absolutely suited for nature shots. Most cameras look like crap in the woods, but this one looks amazing!

      Not forgetting the grading, light and composition - that matters more. The sigma ART series is one of those freaky lenses (19mm, 30mm & 60mm) that are outstandingly good for the money. Awesome results on Sony's FS7 because the Glass is good :-)

    I have enjoyed this look at nature, and the video excellence about 40 times. My favorite moments are the scene with the mushrooms. I also have the lens. I hope You Tube leaves it up for another 20 years. I'll be returning.

      @C T I love it. I typically sharpen just a bit in Resolve (Radius to .47). It stays on my BMPCC. The focus barrel is smooth - bit of texture would help and mine can get a bit sticky if gripped too tightly while focusing -not sure if that's common to the lens or unique to my copy- but for the money and for the shooting I do (mostly casual, nonprofessional stuff) it's wonderful.

    Just moved into blackmagic territory and am wholeheartedly blown away by your cinematography. You may have also sold a Sigma to me now as well. Very curious as to how you achieved your crop factor. It almost verges on an anomorphic ratio. Any tips would be great. Taking the camera out to nature this next weekend.

    I like the colors and shots. It is a pleasent filmic look. Very nice. But i think a few slow slider movements would have increased the filmic look a lot. And some shots seem to be a little underexposed. But i like it.

    Beautiful footage. No other cameras in my possession inspire me more to capture footage more than my Pocket cinema camera. The unique quality of its sensor is just beautiful, I will never sell it. If I spent over $10 grand on a shiny camera with all the bells and whistles and saw this footage, I'm sure it'd be easy to feel regret. Which codec did you shoot this footage in? ProRes HQ? Raw?

      +Lander Denys Woah, ok. Image looks amazing. I am looking to buy my first camera and am very interested in the bmpcc (especially after seeing quality videos like this). Ok awesome! Do you feel it is wide enough to use for action scenes on a glidecam? I have a full frame 28mm f/2 lens, I just want to make sure this 19mm would feel wide enough for a situation such as that

    • @TheMindOfLando
      @TheMindOfLando  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Insanity On A Bun It's pretty wide, but not that wide. You could use it for some action footage, but not the real immersive things ;)

    Hello Lander, what is the frame and shutter angle for shooting this marvellous sample? I have the samyang 12mm T.2.2, and my shootings are not even closer to this sample. And I know that bmppc has 2,8 crop factor. So, 19mm is equal with 19x2,8=53,2?

    • @TheMindOfLando

      It is indeed. Filmed with a 180° shutter angle ;)

    • @TheMindOfLando
      @TheMindOfLando  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Used a basic tripod for 95% of these shots. Put it on a low fstop and use ND filters to get even lower. Then most of the visuals are the grading done in premiere pro with a lut I bought online. Think it was the M31 lut from vision-color, not sure though ;)

    can you recommend a good nd filter for these shots? I shoot with an a6300.so the native iso is 800 which means i need a good one... not too expensive though. did you buy the entire lut package or just the 19$ one?

    • @TheMindOfLando
      @TheMindOfLando  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Michael Mueller Bought the entire LUT pack. Small investment but totally worth it! I use a variable nd filter I bought on Ebay. Don't remember the brand but it was around 30$. Quality is ok, not that amazing but a good deal for it's price!

      I use Premiere Pro to edit and Media encoder to render. Both Adobe products. Media encoder has premade render settings for vimeo and youtube which optimize the quality. You might want to look these up, sure you'll be able to find them somewhere! Or make the switch to the Adobe creative cloud. I found it very much worth the monthly fee :)

    • @johngarantiva4509
      @johngarantiva4509 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your Sigma 50mm is a Nikon mount then your lens adapter should have an aperture ring (to close and open it manually). If you are using it outdoors you should get a ND filter if not, you will have to close that aperture a lot.
