Although, I adore Shawn, as a fellow woman, I understand where Camila was coming from when she wrote this song. Imagine loving someone for so long and so deeply (possibly from the moment she met him), and knowing that he felt something deeper than platonic friendship for you too, but he's never willing to go all the way and be "Shameless (pun)?" You decide to try and move on with someone else, but that pushes him to finally confess to you in maybe the worst way possible (Shawn's "Song for No One," said he was "drunk" and he "said some things I [he] shouldn't have," (drunk jealousy stuff?)). It probably would seem like he only wants you now because he can't have you which would make you feel like an object rather than his secret love (No offense, Shawn). And like other people, I think Shawmila had kissed or more long before they became an official couple which only complicated things even more ("Always more than friends" as Shawn said). To end this long post, I think "Should've Said It" was Camila's inital anger and hurt over Shawn's blotched love confession and "Feel It Twice" was a more sad and sober reflection of things after she had calmed down. In that song, she felt bad for him, herself, and their missed chances due to fear and misplaced pride. I think Shawn realized it too, hence why he actually likes both songs. I am just glad they found their way back to each other and their love was strong enough to overcome the past.
This is one of the reasons I think that “This Love” was about Shawn as well 😕. I imagine that that was about the way she was feeling about him when she wrote “Bad Kind of Butterflies”

I think Shawmila both realized they could never be "just friends." Their feelings for each other were too strong and caused too many complications. They either had to be BFFs, who were also a romantic couple, or they had to permanently go their separate ways. That sounds extreme, but Camila has talked about how "awkward" (big understatement) things got between them after Shawn's first failed love confession. The second time would have been even more devastating.

Shawn wanted to send her his song "Why" which was telling her how he felt about her, but 3 days before he was going to see her in NY and let her listen to the song, she informed him she had "met a guy" which is what he was talking about in that QandA (in Their Story) about how everything went sideways and didn't turn out the way he'd hoped. He was heartbroken and continued to write songs about her, ("If I Can't Have You"), and he didn't give up hope and when the idea of him singing Senorita came up, he told Andrew Watt, the producer, that he'd only sing it if Camila was on it as a duet. He may have f'd up big time when he was younger and didn't make a move, but he learned his lesson and didn't let that happen again. Obviously they both still carried feelings for each other since they first met and it was only a matter of time before they got together and Senorita was finally the catalyst. Listening to their discographies side-by-side, you can track their feelings for each other and with Shawn's album Wonder, he's completely in love with Camila and his songs reflect that. Can't wait to see what new music Camila puts out next.
Shawn totally deserved it! It's no secret they were into each other in 2015/2016 and had romantic feelings for each other when they were promoting IKWYDLS together. But Shawn was at the beginning of his career and not ready for a serious relationship. He took years to make up his mind and tell her how he feels. This song was likely written around end of 2017/beginning of 2018 when she gave up waiting for him and started dating Matthew Hussey. It's also the time when Shawn said he finally confessed to her he liked her but she was already taken by that time. It took for them to get back together in the studio in 2019 for Senorita to finally come together as a couple. You need to listen to Feel It Twice which was written at the same time as Should've Said It and it's the other spectrum of her feelings at that time.
