- BTS’ Jimin studied contemporary dance and exceled at his schools as the best contemporary dancer. J-Hope danced in his hometown since he was young, won awards and exceled as the best street dancer. With Jimin's contemporary background, his movements are usually fluid, smooth and flowing. They have a sense of curviness and sultry sexiness. Watching him you cannot help but move along as he glides on stage like he is floating. j-hope's dance style is more of popping and staccato moves that feel like he is breaking a bone one by one. Watching him you feel like you are being bent as far as the human body can, it's like he either has no bones or has extra bones that make him move like that! These two are just iconic, their level supercedes kpop itself. Both different in some aspects but merge into a special uniqueness only they possess and can attain. They have devoted their life to their passion of dance and it shows. Their knowledge and ability of improvisation is just magic.
Watching these two is magical, whether alone or together, they burn the stage and get you soaked into their dance moves. They have perfected their art and are always learning something new.

BTS is blessed for having two main dancers..Jimin and Jhope has a different styles..it has an advantage for this group to make the dance more appealing to watch..Both of them were professionals and recognized even before they joined the group..Jimin as a pro in contemporary dance and also in hip hop..Jhop is also pro in this category..Both are considered ace in the group but with other members of course..We have to stop comparing who's the best of the two..the important is both of them gave their best with other members to make their performances incredibly amazing💜
They are the perfect duo and they give so much to their dance that make up part of the group's success. and their passion always flows to the other members, and they are so well rounded that they are not afraid to try a different style to the one they are used to

Я закончила спорт школу по художественной гимнастике. И разбираюсь в красоте движения, передаче чувст, эмоций танцем. Вижу когда танец стал душой и телом исполнителя. Происходит магия которая покоряет всех кто это видит. Плюс Чимин придумал себе завораживающий образ. От него невозможно оторвать взгляд. Я всегда его вижу при групповом исполнении. Jimin tiene ese toque delicado propio de su estilo y baila muy bien. Pero J-hope no sólo baila bien, sino que tiene una fluidez y espontaneidad en cada movimiento. Eso acompañado de sus expresiones faciales realmente lo hacen mi favorito, porque hace notar que disfruta bailar, cosa que me gusta ver.
Jhope literalmente vibra cuando baila. Sus movimientos son como si estuviera rompiendo todos los huesos de su cuerpo o tiene huesos adicionales, siempre es fascinante de ver. Me encanta verlo bailar, mientras Jimin te enamora con su baile, jhope te azota con sus movimientos contundentes. A pesar de que Jimin puede bailar técnicamente, siempre es suave y sensual.
Honestly saying both are good dancers but i like jimin dance more, like his body, flexibility and charm, he mesmerized ppl with his dance move, which makes him very attractive, i like his dance style more .

I’ve been a dancer for over twenty years and I would say the two of them are the greatest dancers in the world right now. J hope has all the elements of an amazing hip hop dancer. He’s sharp, precise and when he has to aggressive. You can tell he was a street dancer prior to being in BTS he has that swag and he is used to having to dance battle. Jimin is smooth and controlled at the same time. He can also bring he pain, as it were, when he needs too. At the 2014 MAMA the dance battle was over as soon as J hopes knee hit the floor. Then Jimin came in to finish it off and show you how it’s done. The thing that makes Hobi an amazing dance leader is that he knows how to use the members. Jimin can hit the smoother moves better so he puts Jimin in front. They all have their strengths and J Hope even knows his own and the dedication and knowledge that they have really shows. Both of them are amazing dancers and just a quick shoutout to JK who is a blending of both Jimin and J Hope as they taught him to dance.

@@swahilibangtan every style of dance is different too. So it becomes really interesting to take note of where styles overlap and how the two, JM and jh in this case, combine styles. If I kdnsew how to edit videos I’d make a dance analysis of them. lol

I may be biased towards Jimin because he has a mesmerizing presence. Contemporary dance in K-Pop has never been a focus so Jimin’s solo dances at Korean awards shows are incredible-strength and beauty and originality❣️❣️
Jimin just has a presence that is unforgettable! his moves, his facial expressions, his body movements, just draws you in and you're mesmerized until the end. J-Hope gives you an energy boost when he dances and his jaw dropping pops get you dancing along. They do bring different vibes to their dances

Yes, I admit that Hobi and JK are both insanely good dancers, but Jiminah is on a whole other level. 💜💜When I see him dancing, I can cry my soul out, because I feel in my heart what he wants to convey with his performance, this guy is a moving work of art and an a groundbreaking artist, the kind that is born only once in 100 years. 💜💜
I love J3, but I think Hobi and even the members know too that Jiminie is something much more, that his artistry is beyond dispute, and he isn't "just" an outstanding dancer.
I hope some of them remember that day watching this teenager perform. I noticed there were people taking videos, they hopefully go back and smile saying I saw greatness right before my eyes. I’m sure Jimin was probably just having fun while competing not knowing what lay ahead of him!

These are two iconic, magnificent dancers - goats in their own right and on a completely other level. Together, they create magic…so mesmerizing!!! There a lot of comments here about others within BTS but just to put the cat amongst the pigeons Taemin of SHINee is on a par with Jimin and they have danced amazingly together. He has a similar style to Jimin and is a good friend of his. I hope once Taemin finishes his service we might see them together again. As for Hobi, it would take a lot for anyone to reach him in confidence and ease in his style. That man is on a whole other level these days. Those Japanese school girls had a magical experience and danced really well with Jimin and J-Hope. Wish someone like them had turned up at my school when I was doing dance classes.
I saw that video of Jimin and Taemin and they blend together so well, so effortlessly, like watching a single person dance. I hope they have another at dancing, they are great to watch. Those were the luckiest girls in the world! and you can imagine it was before BTS became who they are now, hopefully they look back now and smile at that opportunity

Oh jimin and jhope together are just an explosion of raw art and perfection, I wish we could get more. They dance differently but their interpretations are just plain magical how they come together. They make dance such a beautiful art piece. I would love them to be able to do more but they have been pushing them back lately it seems, and it's odd because they are the main dancers. I wonder if that's why jimin said at festa hobi has suffered the most, not being able to show us his artistry may be what he meant.. I would love to see the dance rooms videos because hobi and jimin lived there almost.
I would love that too! Seeing the raw footage of them dancing for long hours, we all know Jimin used to spend the most time in the studio practically living there to hone his skill! They should do a collab, full or even mini album collab, and even if all they do is dance, I would watch endlessly because the “few” (it’s never enough) times we have watched them ,apart or together, they have heated up the stage and performed to perfection

Tienes razón, tienen estilos muy diferentes pero se sienten cómodos probando otros bailes diferentes. Jimin siempre es elegante y suave, mientras que jhope es contundente, pero también puede ser suave.

I agree but there is a third one you can’t ignore and that’s Taemin from Shinee. He is doing is military service and older than J- hope and Jimin but not that much (born 1993). He is a good friend of Jimin. Taemin danced many iconic performences also one with Jimin. You can see the video on youtube. BTW, South Korean people use to say that Taemin, Jimin and Kai have the best dance lines ever (dance line referring to their natural body position (muscles, bones...) when they dance, everything aligned perfectly, no flaws)
Any particular reason why you included the part in Black Swan where Jimin was just marking his moves for the camera instead of the actual full on dance?

@swahili bangtan Yeah, that's a pity. The actual dance segment was unreal, showcasing everything Jimin is capable of, mixing dance with his incredible athleticism.

There's no doubt that they are both dynamic and stellar dancers but let's not forget Jungkook who has danced with them many times, which is why they are called the 3J dance line. Jungkook also studied dance in America. Hip Hop and other styles. That's why at times you see JK and Jhope team up to do a Hip Hop dance routine along with some other styles of Dance. All 3 of them are phenominal and insanely fantastic dancers and when you put them together it's an explosion. In their beginning stage performances and practice, you'll notice that at the front was always Jhope, Jimin and Jungkook. That's how they came about to become the 3J dance line. There's so many videos of them so I just wanted to make note of to not forget about Jungkook. My opinion all three of them are the best dancers in the industry!
I agree with everything you've said, the 3Js are THE BEST dancers in the entire industry. I get where you're coming from in not wanting JK to ne left out. HOWEVER, JHope and Jimin have not just trained in dance, but specialized in very specific areas and that makes a world of difference in what they can do and how they do it. If JHope and JK were to do a random freestyle side by side, no one would say JK beats Hobi unless they are JK biased. Same for Jimin and contemporary/modern. Specializing means just that and no amount of natural talent is going to beat someone who trained for years, at least not when it comes to dance.
