And we have all learned through various vampire movies that the way to stop them all is to kill the head vampire... Dwight is going to have to kill Creed. Kind of ironic since Creed gave Dwight the tools to turn a broom handle into a stake.

Nicholas Berry pain is a very useful thing that I’m pretty certain animals would feel... it’s a deterrent for harmful behaviour.... an animals purpose is to live long enough to pass on its genes so why would it not have one of the biggest tools available to it to keep it alive.
Edit: immediately after leaving this post I came to realise that pain is used to train animals (not saying it’s ethical but it’s a thing).... electric dog collars... dog does something it shouldn’t, feels pain, repeats until it correlates pain with the bad behaviour. So what animals exactly are you claiming can’t feel pain? I can think of many which this method is or has been used on.

I love the drastic contrast of Dwight’s “superior” intelligence. It’s so hard to predict whether he’ll laugh someone off because the dinosaur you picked is the lamest to ever exist or he’ll believe the real Ben Franklin is sitting in the break room taunting him with the bifocal. Vampires granted are right up Dwight’s alley, but still. One of my favorite parts of this show was never knowing if Dwight would approach something as an idiot or a maniac, despite his highly praised advice from Michael on not being an idiot. What I would amend the advice from Michael to is this, “Don’t be an idiot, unless it’s funny.”
Right! I love this too! Characters that are less predictable have more personality so are thus more interesting and relatable. Real people have complex traits and don’t always follow a straight line. Brilliant writers!
WindSweptGirl611 I find it odd that you think Dwight’s character is relatable as I have personally never encountered any human being like him before.
If anything unpredictable characters are there to show extremes of human nature.
Humans are complex but not to the extent that their behavior cannot be predicted. Everyone has a pattern, but characters like Dwight and creed have none, which makes it hard for the average person to relate to anything they do or say. That is what makes them interesting
Lorrie, I've known some very smart people who had some _very_ eccentric habits and beliefs. Besides, I'd argue that Dwight does have a pattern that makes sense... he relies on having an enormous expertise of folk knowledge, which does genuinely bring him a lot of success as a farmer. But he's too arrogant and self assured by that to see the difference between time tested, skilful farming techniques and the more fringe areas of local folklore.
My theory is that Dwight is so incredibly intelligent, that he went through the bottom and is an idiot again. You know, like a movie thats so bad it's good! Dwight is so smart he's dumb!
