    Hey Dash Thunder, thank you so much for showing the frontier root grapple. Your video got me to add the third function and grapple (yeah $3500). I just started getting back my land that hasnt really been managed in 20 years. It assisted in me cutting 100 feet 10 wide mature bamboo. It’s an amazing attachment that no one understand or knows about. I also do not fear when trees come down on my property I can clean up a 40 foot tree in 2 hours. When I need fire wood I just pickup 6 foot log sections and cut what I need. The root grapple also carries tools well like chain saws, pole saws, shovels, rakes, beer cooler. Thank you my guy I am gonna watch the log splitter video next.

    Hi I have the same set up 1025r and the same grapple I had an issue with the top plate on the grapple I picked up a stump with it and the stump pushed up the plate and that pushed up on the cylinder and blew a seal. when the jaws are closed empty there is only about 3/4 of an inch clearance between the cylinder and the plate so be careful that you don't do what I did. You're good at welding and fabricating maybe you can make a thicker plate. the plate is only a 1/8" they could have made the top grapple cylinder tower 3/4" of an inch tall and made the plate 1/4" and reinforced between the top of the upper jaw good video

      I couldn’t agree more, Brian. I think that plate is too thin and mine is already bent towards the cylinder. I thought about welding in something thicker. Nothing broke yet, but I can imagine it may be in due time unless I find a solution. Thanks for mentioning that and reminding me!

      @@brianwalters480 I bent mine pretty early on grabbing large rocks. I've been pretty hard on the grapple and that seems to be the only weak spot on it. It is by far my most used implement.

    I'm a certified arborist just want to let you know you need to make sure the chain has stopped before pulling it out of the cut. Try not to rev it when you pulling out of the cut your making. That leads to a kick back if the tip of your bar makes contact when pulling out. I've seen it to many times

      I know how people hate nitpicky commentors on youtube but safety issues are important. I would also suggest a cutting helmet and chaps. One nice upgrade would be to have the ms 261 saw. It cuts faster so safer to use. Still only 11ish pounds.

    Very impressive the tractor picked up the whole trunk . I picked up the same tractor found your channel looking for a grapple for mine. I have a mini skid steer but it destroys lawns. Figure I would try a sub compact looks like I made a good choice.

    That little chainsaw sure does a lot of work. I have a Echo CS520 that I bought back in the '90s... it's a little beast with its 20 inch bar. I also have a Homelite XL12 that was my dads. It has a bow bar and hadn't run since the late 80's - I just finished restoring it last month and it runs like brand new. Enjoyed the video and looking forward to your next one!

      Thank you! Great to hear about your restoration on the XL12. Older chainsaws are fascinating. I've never used a bowbar saw before, Id like to try one someday!

    It was brutal to watch you hand rake ....... lol. The grapple (same one I have) rakes very well when you get it to the correct angle while never having to get out of the seat. Rakes and shovels should be in the truck for absolute emergencies only.

    Hello, nice to see another video from you. Was wondering how the business has been going with the dump trailer compared to what you were planning on when you were talking about buying it.

      Thank you! The dump trailer has by far been my most valuable tool besides the tractor. I'm pleasantly surprised at how much use I get out of it. Way more than I expected. I've hardly used my equipment trailer this year and it seems that every job I've been on this summer I need to bring in material or haul some away. Its been a really great purchase, very happy I did it.

    Great video. Keep up the good work. Just curious as a business owner how are things going and curious how much you work on average.

      Things are going well, thanks for asking. It gets pretty busy at times, but on average I work anywhere from 10-20 hours per week dependent on weather. I also work a regular 40 hour per week job Mon - Fri. The 60 hour weeks can get long, but its rewarding and fun.

    Are you usually in 2WD or 4WD when using the grapple?
    I just took delivery of my 1025R with the AV20F grapple. I noticed my grapple cylinder is leaking some hydraulic oil while using it. I told my dealer and I assume they will be replacing the cylinder under warranty. I've read some other people with this same issue. Have you experienced this?

    • @TheLittleGreenTractor
      @TheLittleGreenTractor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jason! I would say I’m in 4wd about 80% of the time when I’m using the grapple. With the extra weight on the front my rear tires get too light. I actually find myself shifting in and out of 4wd often when I need to make tight corners. As far as the cylinder leaking, I’ve never experienced that issue. I’m certain it would likely be covered under warranty though. The only trouble with mine was a leaky quick connect male coupler. But that was a pretty easy fix, just switched it out with a new one.
