    We fish around the 150-200m mark most times, being a small framed guy like me, it was hard to set look for combos that would make me last the whole fishing day. I always look for a way to make things easier for me without sacrificing results and over the years have formed a preference on how set things up - from my ultralight gear up to the heaviest gear I have, they are all set up so I can handle them effectively - essentially taking out the stress from the gear as much as I can yet also transmitting all the effort into fighting the fish - fight the fish, not the gear as they say.
    When choosing your gear, "Cheap" doesn't mean sacrificing performance or quality as I show in the video - my most preferred combo, isn't a high end spec combo, yet I hold my own fishing with guys that have gear priced almost four times the price of mine, at times, catching more.
    I am not telling you to get the same gear - far from that - What I am saying is to actually get gear that is right for you, your build, your limits and your style. The biggest disadvantage of this is that it might take time or it might be impossible to do when you are still starting out, I can't tell you what your preferences are since honestly, it is something you develop over time, but taking my points into consideration when choosing gear will definitely be a very good starting point.
    In any case, these are solid examples of gear and I hope the discussion helps you in your buying decisions going forward.

    Thank you for your tips which has helped me improve a lot on jigging techniques. I was recently using a Noeby light jigging rod with a Penn PG reel but lost 50% of the fish. Any advice on what i could do better? Was fishing in 50m. Did i not set the hook properly? Putting too much pressure bringing the fish in but lowering rod down too quickly? The japanese hold the rod down and make the reel do the work, that is surprising to me. Been searching the net on how to fight fish on jigging set up and ive tried only pumping until rod is parallel to the water and not more.

    • @TheFishingKit

      your problem of losing 50% of the fish has nothing to do with your gear and has a lot to do with sharks.

    hello
    what is the best gear ratio for fast jigging on spinning reel

    • @TheFishingKit
      @TheFishingKit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's not the gear ratio you should be looking at, it should be the retrieve ratio per crank. It could be any capable brand reel just as long as it has the lowest inches/cm per crank you can find, the slower the retrieve speed is, the better. Ratio does not matter.

    • @MrZrombak
      @MrZrombak 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheFishingKit Kindly please Can you recommend for me models or names of spinning reel that has perfect retrieve speed

    • @TheFishingKit
      @TheFishingKit  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @MrZrombak Shimano Stella PG, Shimano Twin Power PG - those are the two I use, in size 6000, 8000 and 10,000 - these are all spinning reels. As I mentioned in the video, for the conventional, I found the Accurate Fury 500N low speed to have the slowest retrieval speed and is my main overhead slow jigging reel - I just changed the handle to a longer one.

      I have 1 JM rod, so my experience on them is kind of limited. Id say they are good rods but kind of old tech these days and a bit heavy on the weight. Other than that they are good and still working.

    fast jigging? 100-300m? mate u too strong.... I tried 140m 200g jig once and never want to do it again. An electrical reel is a better choice in that depth unless u are John Cena😅

    • @TheFishingKit
      @TheFishingKit  ปีที่แล้ว

      must be using the wrong rod and reel :) quite important to have a PG reel - the rod helps a lot. The rod has to be the right rod too. Jig selection is also important. When you have everything, then it's just really a matter of pacing yourself. Slim jigs help a lot.
