Check out Danang, Vietnam. For 700 US a month you get everything! Danang is one of the most beautiful place in SEA with one of the most beautiful beach in the world. Health care is always a concern. Moving from one state to another is sometimes difficult. Been there, did that. Can't imagine moving to another country. Way too much stress for this retiree. Trump will be an influence worldwide regardless the issue, so, moving away really isn't. Doubt if he will have much control after the midterms. Who knows? I've stayed here all my life despite not agreeing with much my government has or hasn't done. Try that somewhere else? No thanks! I've been to Mexico, Canada, a few southern states and a some of the non-American islands nearby. Nice visits but to live there! Not for me...I always feel at home here despite the mass murders & crazy politicians.
Not sure how you researched this but Portugal’s golden visa through real estate purchase was abolished last year. I know because I missed it by a few months.
It was not abolished, but they did have some BIG changes. What was abolished in 2023 was the NHR Visa, which did not tax foreign income such as pensions and SSI. Which is why I am moving to France, instead, in 2025.
I'm strongly considering moving out of the USA for a while, just to see how the dust settles. I don't have a lot of money and will have to try to find some ways to make money online. So the possibility of a working holiday visa in Australia was unknown to me and I will definitely research it! I always wanted to go there too! I was also considering tourist visa stays in Mexico, possibly Panama, Ecuador, Peru, Chile and Uruguay and then over to Albania. It's all probably a pipe dream but I'm grasping at any hope for a happy future right now.
don't consider it a pipe dream. you can make it happen Australia and New Zealand are stunning. they are very strict on visas though but still try if you really want to. no harm trying. do you have any family ancestor areas or ties to a could try you might be able to apply for resiency in? for instance my fathers parents came from Kronoby Finland. with grandparent ancestry i can apply for a permanent residency visa. with grandparents they don't make you have a certain amount of money to come. later you can apply for citizenship. i am studyin Finnish now and trying to see how to get my grandparents birth certificates. i am 57. good luck
i am leaving too. i will not live under a dictator who considers me wothless because i don't have kids. My fathers parents were born and raised in Kronoby Finland and I plan on getting a residence permit from that to go there.
I left the US 20+ years ago to live in the Netherlands. Best thing I ever did. I love my life here. My greatest adventure and among my top accomplishments. 🌷
That's awesome! It's wonderful to hear that your move to the Netherlands has been such a positive experience for you! It’s amazing how life can change for the better when you take that leap of faith.
I don't understand how, for example, the USA doesn't have a national health service; pregnant women don't have paid maternity leave of at least 6 months. Why anyone who wants to go to university has to go into debt. Here in Portugal, university fees costs around 600 dollars a year. Do you know that Americans are already moving to Europe to get treatment for their illnesses? Where do the taxes paid by American workers go?
the taxes go to goverment greedy mostly repuglicans and their friends. the military doesn't get it, schools don.t get it. healthcare sure as hell doesn.t get it. senators and congress people keep giving themselves raises and probably work 6 months out of 12. people like dispicable govenor Sarah Sanders gives her friends thousands of dollars to take an exspensive Vegas trip and writes it off as a new podium. how is she not in jail for tax fraud? stuff like that is where our taxes go. not to the people

I applied for Portuguese nationality by Sephardic descent - we're lucky enough that all the documents are there going straight back to the 1400s. But I only barely got in before the deadline, and with the backlog that already is there for CIL/the conservatoria, I don't think I'll get it for 4-5 years. It's surprisingly difficult to get a job in PT/ES, even with a PhD in statistics 😢
Remember, most countries will not be able to process more than a few thousand extra immigrants without it slowing things way down. Portugal BEFORE this election couldn't handle the increase. In the first half of 2024, the process slowed from 4 months to indefinitely - people are still waiting for appointments! Now, it will probably take years.
My great great grandfather came from Italy (DiMascio). I am definitely leaving the US in 2025 or early 2026 because I cant live in a country that willingly elects a criminal mob boss to the presidency rather than decent, smart people.

Svalbard is considered part of Norway, but not all of Norway’s regulations and taxes apply. This video makes it sound easy to relocate in Svalbard, which is not necessarily the case. Housing is extremely limited and often unobtainable unless you find an employer who can reserve a rental unit for you. Svalbard has no facilities for senior citizens who cannot remain independent. The elderly must leave if their needs involve assisted living care. Anyone requiring surgery or other intensive medical care has to relocate to the mainland for treatment. Any woman who gets pregnant has to leave the island about a month prior to her due date, as the Svalbard clinic isn’t equipped to deal with childbirth and neonatal care. Food, clothing, cars, furniture, fuel, building materials etc. have to be imported. Time spans for receiving orders can last weeks or longer, and shipping fees can double the price of merchandise. On the plus side, Svalbard is awesomely beautiful, the townsfolk (an international mix of people) are friendly, many speak English, and the annual polar night/polar day climate cycle is fascinating. Just remember that means several continuous months of complete darkness in winter and several continuous months of daylight in summer. Oh, and if you plan on exploring outside the town limits, you’d better get familiar with handling a rifle, which is required protection once you pass the marked safety boundaries. Polar bears! 🐻❄️
People in Mexico City are pissed at "expats" (immigrants) because they're asking restaurant owners to make the salsas less picante,(hot). Don't do that.
@TopClub you should know that the Golden Visa program has been SHUT DOWN for Portugal. Do your research before posting videos with inaccurate information. One other thing you did not mention is the price of Spain's golden visa, which requires a €500,000 euro investment in property.
I'm in the same situation. I absolutely depend upon my SS and Medicare. Barely above poverty level and numerous health issues, specialists, medications, etc. And what's worse is, 75% of my family voted maga. Idiots to the core! Done with them. Good Luck.
So far most of these locations don’t address retirees. The golden visa in Portugal is no longer available. Not all retirees have large quantities of ready cash. Also, free health care in these locations are typically not available right away if ever for all who want to relocate.
If you are retired, Canada may not be the best bet unless you have a good income or savings. Canada does not offer a retirement visa, so retirees must obtain a residence permit through work skills, education, family sponsorship or business opportunities. (Oct 29, 2024) The “4% rule” is another popular method for working out how much you need to retire in Canada comfortably. The idea is that you take out 4% of your savings for every year of retirement. For example, to be able to spend $40,000 a year in retirement, using the 4% rule, you would need to save $1,000,000.
