I wish ford did the digital mirror like all the other truck makers. Giving you a wider view from the bed camera is great when looking behind you and off the rear fenders
Thank you soo much for this video. I have a 2024 F-350 Lariat with the ultimate package on order and have been looking for detailed information like this. The first few videos I watched were made by miserable haters who bitched about every part of the digital display. I’m not far off from senior citizen status but I like my electronic gadgets. To me the more information the better. My only concern with the HUD is that my near vision is starting to go, but my far vision is good as ever. Now I understand why as a young man, old guys would tell me to make sure to never get old. From your description that the information appears to be floating in front of the truck, I have hope it will work for my eyes. If not I’ll break down and get some bifocals, lol.
Yup, your eyes perceive it as if it’s about 5-6 feet in front of you. Maybe just ahead of the front bumper. Can confirm it’s legible with old-people eyes.
Great video! Helped me understand what is all offered for this version of HUD on the Super Duty. Do you know if you can you see this HUD with polarized sunglasses? I know with some of them it gets pretty dim or you can't see it.
Yeah..... the one on the screen is basically useless.... they could've put in the time and money to make it look (and work) great..... but they didn't. It's like something you would've seen on a web browser in the mid 1990s. Awful.
Does anyone know what the little truck icon means when it pops up while in adaptive cruise? It is on the top left of the HUD and it comes on and off randomly it seems and I don't know what it is signifying.
Not when you’re using Apple CarPlay. I think it will work with Android Auto. But an iPhone does not let Google Maps send turn-by-turn directions to the truck.
I ordered a 2023 Super Duty Tremor Lariat with the 6.7 high output and I really didn’t like the HUD….I thought I would …. I really wanted to…. But it was just to distracting for me. It is a really cool thing to have, I just wish I was able to get used to it. I guess I am just too old for something like that.
Guarantee it's gonna make its way around the fleet. It's amazing. Anytime we get into another vehicle like the F-150, we're like "where'd the HUD go??"
Can you get rid of the outside temp and time? That stuff is too cluttery and unnecessary on the HUD. I have a '23 King Ranch on order, and the HUD is one of the reasons that I sold my '22.
Hard to say. If the tint was on the inside of the windshield, it could easily interfere with the HUD. The HUD projector is buried in the dashboard, and it creates the optical illusion that the HUD screen is hovering above the front edge of the hood. If the inside of the windshield has a coating / tint on it, then that'll cut down the brightness of the HUD by a lot. I'd expect that Ford would address this at some point.
Yes, there is a special reflective film in that exact spot in between the glass panes. You have to even make sure you get eh correct windshield if you ever replace it if it breaks.

Props on having the only detailed HUD video for the new Ford system

That HUD is sweet!! I am very jealous!
Now they just need to add the Curve Bending Headlights to the Super Duty! I freaking love those on my F-150.
How do you get it to show the Navigation in the HUD? I have a 24 and can't find anything that will turn it on. I can get it to show in the dash.

Let some air out of the tires. Factory pressures are too high when not towing.
The only complaint I have about my F350 ultimate powerstroke is I want a damn owners manual, not the on the screen bs.

I found a 2023 F350 PDF file owners manual on the Ford web site. Not as good as paper, but, workable.
I have a link for the owners manual for my 24 F250....... over 700 pages !
Thanks for the info. Just got my F350. This helps.
Glad to hear it! Enjoy
Ugh!... I want that heads up display but I only want an F150, not 350. Now I have to go look at Chevy...
It's HIGHLY likely that the HUD will make its way to the F-150 in the very near future. Who knows, maybe next year???

Clarifying does Google maps work on the HUD with directions?
Not when you’re using Apple CarPlay. I think it will work with Android Auto. But an iPhone does not let Google Maps send turn-by-turn directions to the truck.
I tried to get HUD in my 24 F250 XLT but apparently i couldn't. I'm bummed about it.

Hahaha you’re never too old! We’re in our 50s and find that the HUD helps us keep our eyes on the road. But to each their own!!!
@@ArmyProperty But you can’t see it that well when you are wearing polarized sunglasses and almost all sunglasses are polarized today.
@@armedprophet3321 how would it work with 70% frontal ceramic tint?
@@wj2791 You would see it “rainbowing” and not very clear if at all. It was designed to reflect off glass not a ceramic tint or any tint.
Just turn it off.
How do you activate the HUD to show the lane markings. Had it on the screen once and can’t get it turned back on? Thanks
Lane keeping assist, the button is left side of steering wheel
I wish I could get this HUD on the maverick

Yes! You can customize it in lots of ways.
Would 70% tint on the windshield curtail the clarity of head up display usage?

Yes it will. It still will project some but I would not do it.

Awesome
Anyone recommend a good aftermarket HUD? When I ordered my 24, I wanted it but it did not come with the truck.
Will the directions work with google maps when using CarPlay or android auto?
I'd like to know this too
Waze is also good
Does waze work on the HUD though?
@@ajcruz2322 nope, just the factor nav system
😀❤
How do I get the directions to show?
I see everything else and actually had directions showing once but since then it’s lost?
The directions only show up if you’re using Apple Maps and Ford Navigation. Google Maps doesn’t work with the HUD
