Armando Lopez the MX8 has a few different attachments for different types of skimmers. I wish I could help out more. You might want to check out the manufacturers website or even give them a call to explain your situation and I’m sure they could help. Good luck.
Phil Indeblanc 6 years later it is running just as strong as the year I purchased it. I keep my pool open year round and the only thing I replaced last year was the rubber treads. They wore down and the unit wouldn’t climb the walls.
@@keithgibson3315 That is a pretty long time. I think your pool is a vinyl or non plaster pool. Is that correct? That would have a MAJOR impact on why yours lasted so long.
Phil Indeblanc Yes, it is a vinyl pool. All in all I’m happy with this cleaner and I did purchase the leaf catcher add on. This really help with the maple “whirlybird” seeds during the spring and the sunken leaves in the fall.
@@keithgibson3315 Also, important is, that most , or I should say , MANY people leave the cleaner in the pool year round as a part of the pool, and when there are a larger number of swimmers, then taking it out. But the manufacturers suggest to take it out and store it as instructed at each use. How do you go about this? Do you follow the MFG instructions or leave it in year round? Your chem needs are much less than plaster, and likely why its lasted so long with no issues. Yes, I have a leaf catcher as well, and gets the palmtree seeds...But my cleaner now is a Navigator Polaris that needs a overhaul I was thinking of doing or replacing with something else. Navigator throat is not so wide and the seeds often get stuck.
Keith does this MX8 get hung up on your main drain? I had a new liner & main drain installed and my Hayward Pool Vac gets hung up on my main drain. Thanks! Mike
Yes it does. It also costs about $100 a year for parts that wear out. new tracks, 2 gear boxes, motor with impellers. But it does keep my large retangular pool clean. I replacued my Hayward main drain cover with a flush fitting one from Amazon and it helped.
Yeah, my pool stays pretty clean. I have had some storms roll through and knock a lot of pine tree junk in the pool so I purchased the leaf attachment. Works well for the price and for what the cleaner is.
1.Hoses are NOT cables. Zodiac is lying to you saying its a robot. It is suction side. NOT robotic. 2.They tell you to put the jets down so the HOSES (NOT cables) don't get pushed, thus hindering the cleaner. 3. Don't put the hoses in that box unless you disconnect all of them from each other. It will coil them and again hinder the cleaner.
+HappyJigg good points to consider. I haven't had any issues with the cleaner and I DO recommend disconnecting all hoses and placing them in a plastic tote that allows for them to remain straight during storage.
0:58 to ensure that the jet streams dont push the hoses (floating) and interfere with the cleaner movement (This is my guess)
Keith,
How do you like the MX8?
I'm thinking of getting one
+Eliran Vidal It is a great cleaner, works really well considering it uses the pools main pump system.
Is it water proof?
+Jaison Mathai Yes, it is a great cleaner.

Hey Jason, the cleaner is completely mechanical so there is nothing to worry about as far as electronics.
My pool has a schemer but no way to connect it to the inside of scemer

How do you like this cleaner 6 years later? How often did it need parts replaced? FYI, that gauge did NOT look like it started to move down :-) lol

Phil Indeblanc That they suggest taking it after each use sounds like cya language. Everyone who mentions these leaves them in all the time.

Hey Mike, I never had it get hung on the main drain as long as I turned off the main drain valve at the pump. Thanks for the question.

cool yard
Jack Holland, thanks!
Good
One thing they recommend is you shouldn't use this unit in superchlorinated water, it is bad for the plastics!
