Thank you for sharing your video. It reminded me of my own experiences in the Air Force. I was on a crash recovery detail in 1988 involving an A-10 that went down over the Nellis range. Unfortunately, the pilot was killed as his wingtip touched a canyon wall resulting in the violent destruction of the aircraft. I worked A-10 armament systems at the time and volunteered to assist in the recovery effort. I remember it was physically grueling with a lot of hiking (like your team is doing in this video) and we had to hydrate often. I was previously a USAF Rescue pilot and now a Mid Air Recovery Jolly Green Giant pilot sitting at Gila Bend airport waiting for a returning jet drone. We saw an A-10 crash during a practice bombing run. The pilot ejected but the self righting seat took him toward the fireball. I took my crew, called the range cold, and flew to the valley below the burning crash. Ammo and practice bombs were going off. I had no protective gear and several poison gasses were coming from the liquids in the aircraft. I found the pilot. He did not make it. I did damage to my optic nerves and lungs. There are lots of poisons around modern aircraft crashes. Care should be taken.

On top of that he only has the BlackHawk and the Daulphin. They need small helo's like Cletus's 500. Watch the Dale Download that was just poseted today. Cletus explains what is going on and they are telling him not to come back.
We had been camping that weekend at Upper Kents Lake. On our return home, we went through the Virgin River Gorge just a few minutes after the crash. Smoke was still billowing out of the crash site, and first responders had not yet been able to get to the site. Amazing. Thanks Dave for letting us get a closer look at what happened there.
The A-10 is my favorite plane, love the way it looks and sounds, and while it’s sad to see it crashed/torn apart, it’s also really cool. Anything declassified about the plane I’ve looked into/studied out of boredom/curiosity, so being able to label certain parts in their mangled state/being able to figure out where they go (before the video says it) is also pretty cool. Researched WWII records. Two days flying over the general area, we spotted the reflection of a large metal object in a wash. 4×4'd to the site and located a complete vertical stabilizer off of a B-24 Liberator. Took three days to gather all of the good stuff...

I live in Las Vegas, and I am surprised the A-10 squadron turned South East out of Nellis Air Force Base. Almost 90% of the time the jets turn North West towards area-51 bombing range. I found the wreckage of an A-6 Intruder back in the mid 90's in the mountains of Anza California that was out of Miramar Naval Air Base from the 60's. According to my research on the wreck the pilot did eject safely.

On Monday 3rd September 2001, USAF A-10A Thunderbolt II 78-0676/FT of the 75th FS, based at Pope Air Force Base, and assigned to 4th Fighter Wing at Seymour-Johnson AFB was destroyed when it crashed shortly after taking off from Nellis AFB. The A-10A impacted into a cliff near Mesquite, Virgin River Gorge, Clark County, Nevada. (At approximate Coordinates: 36°48′9″N 114°4′56″W. The official USAF AIB report gives the crash location as "Virgin River Gorge, north west Arizona, along Interstate 15, between St. George, Utah, and Mesquite, Nevada"). The pilot, Captain Frederick Sellers, ejected and was rescued by a Las Vegas police helicopter.
Wouldn't you be able to use that Chinook ch-46 you were looking at to recover any big parts of the wreckage if you were to get it and get it back in the air. If so I think it would be cool to use it in recovery missions like this and others. I think getting something for water recovery would be cool to especially if you were to have some retired seals to be part of a dive team to do things like looking for old ship wreckage that went down with massive amounts of cash holds finding just one would probably be both life changing as far as the cashes but also documenting the recovery of it.
Hey Dave I have a potential recovery for you to look into......would probably be the absolute most difficult recovery you have done.....Nakina Ontario Canada there is a locomotive that derailed and crashed into a lake back in the early 90s ....the crew is still on board it's about time they get the resting place they deserve
Yo, Heavy D. NC and TN could use some choppers and heavy equipment right about now. Government isn’t taking care of business. Time to make some business happen.
Hey man I live in concord North Carolina about 1-2 hours away from me in western Carolina they have gone through a disastrous flood killing thousands the government is trying to cover up things up here they are stopping there own citizens from helping people in need i don’t know what you and your team can do but i thought I’d share it in hopes that there could be more awareness brought to this issue there are still thousands of people stranded in rural parts of western North Carolina. If you come across this post and can’t help or spread awareness please keep western Carolina in your prayers they are battling an environmental disaster on top of the government covering stuff up.
Please take your helicopter and go help North Carolina. Or inquire how you can help. It's terrible. Greene county is very bad off. isolated with little supplies. Bridges are destroyed.

I’m really surprised that you guys aren’t over there helping with the rescue effort of the hurricane recovery. But I guess it would be more difficult for you to just fly your chopper over and help. Too bad though because your equipment would be a lot better than the little ones they are using. You’re a good man heavy D and I know if it was possible you would be there.
His blackhawk is of limited help. There are no LZ's large enough or the NG blackhawks would have already landed. The Daulphin has wheels so limited on terrain it can land on. The little ones ( Cletus's 500) are the ones that can get in and out. Watch the Dale Download with Cletus he expalins the problem.

You guys have really stepped up big time over the last few years we've been watching the channel. Always stoked to see what's going on next. If you're ever out in Hawaii, get in touch, we'll show you a visit like you can't imagine.
You all should join in the search an rescues going on in the Carolinas and Tennessee.
The pilot, Captain Frederick Sellers, ejected and was rescued by a Las Vegas police helicopter.
what happened 8 days after the crash
@@DrPeanutButter12 We all know what happened. What’s your point? Why are you asking?
@HeavyDSparks- NORTH CAROLINA NEEDS YOU!!!!
Daves calculation of 1, 000 ft up and 5280 (1 mile) over, equaling 45°, had my cracking up. 😂
The most humble, passionate, and patriotic individuals with incredible skill and talent…. You guys continue to impress
Bro turning into whistlin diesel with these 10 to 20 minute videos every month or 2.
And
Pretty Rad, it hits home. I am a Aerospace Engineer and that Warthog had 2 of our TF34-GE-100 turbo fan engines on it.
Hey Dave I have a potential recovery for you to look into......would probably be the absolute most difficult recovery you have done.....Nakina Ontario Canada there is a locomotive that derailed and crashed into a lake back in the early 90s ....the crew is still on board it's about time they get the resting place they deserve
are they ok? they must be so hungry and scared
There is also a burried locomotive near Marlbank, Ontario which was recently uncovered
Stop giving recovery stuff to this guy, he's banking on those to push his crap ads
Yeah but can they somehow make a Ad out of it.
@@michaelwynne4346 don't like it don't watch.
I hope you'll be one of the people to go help out NC, Florida and others. They need more help. Y'all helped people in Cali, y'all can do this too
We sure could use your help doing rescue up here in Western North Carolina with that Blackhawk.
Yo, Heavy D. NC and TN could use some choppers and heavy equipment right about now. Government isn’t taking care of business. Time to make some business happen.
Making it a historical spot was the easy way to clean it up. Good job government.
Not wasting tax payer dollars there.
@@Buster452 yeah that was their reason. Government loves saving money.
Advernture and a warthog.
Yep, Im clicking.
Same
Sorry about the disappointment
@@_JamesBrown You are so miserable...
@@bencreatesthings even more miserable after watching
The editing had my dying. Especially when he tossed the dummy round. Good shit
You guys need to pack up and head east to help with Hurricane Helene recovery. Western NC is devastated.
Are you going to help out with the rescue efforts in Georgia and Tennessee? Pilots are in great need.
Are y'all going to take the Blackhawk out to Tennessee and Western North Carolina?
The government be like we crashed and it’s a special place to come hike to.
You crash and they be like you need to clean up every last scrap!
Kudos to the warthog pilots! Was in the desert with them the first gulf war. You can't ask for a better aircraft for support.
Hans you give us some of the best shuttle comic relief in these videos!
They need you in Tennessee with your helicopter
Thanks for the tour Dave and crew really a cool trip.
what you guy's do is nothing short of EPIC ..you all seem to have a great time.can;t wait for the next one.stay safe my friend.
Brother, please take you and you’re crew and go help the hurricane Helen victims. God bless you.
"We are gonna leave things like we found them" ... Then proceeds to flip tires, tear heat shielding, and throws fond pieces all over ...
18:33 is where they find the plane. Your welcome
Neat video. I happened upon it by chance. I worked A-10s back in the 90s, worked 2 crash sites. This brings back intresting memories.
Please take your helicopter and go help North Carolina. Or inquire how you can help. It's terrible. Greene county is very bad off. isolated with little supplies. Bridges are destroyed.
Yes they should! This is just crap infomercialing. They could be doing good things. Helo's trucks, heavy equipment, man power is needed elsewhere.
They are refusing anymore air help. They are overwhelmed with people wanting to help.
For real they desperately need help. I live down in Georgia and have kinda got a first hand look at how bad they got it
@@curtiscasting3821 they have called the 101 and the marines from lejune in, it's a CF operation now.

Not Again... I used to really like Heavy D, before EVERY video became a paid commercial and he TOTALLY sold out! I was even going to buy my son merch at one point. Will he even read this? Does he even care?
I'm here to tell you he doesn't care endless you have something he can make money off.
Lemme guess? Democrat!?
Nice when you being quite but hear we are.
Lol comments only make him more money so yes he doesn't care . Just unsubscribe like I and others did and it might sting then
Quit whining and quit watching
Damn he knew what he was doing with the thumbnail smh. That wreckage looked nothing like that
you clicked,hahaha
@HeavyDsparks... YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE... the citizens of Tennessee NEED your helicopter help. Biden and Harris have abandoned 1000 dead Americans over there. The floods have left them with ZERO supplies, no food, no water, no power. I BELIEVE IN YOU BRO!!!!? WHERE YOU AT?!?!?!
I am also a retired A-10 engine mechanic. I was stationed at Pope AFB and did one tour to Afghanistan with that bad ass plane.
That “radio” he found at 12:24 is actually a piece of the IFF receiver-transmitter. It helps the pilot determine who is a friendly fellow aircraft or enemy/unknown aircraft! Gotta love being an avionics mechanic
Imagine going on a pleasant hike and you just get wiped the hell out by an entire A-10 crashing into you.
I'll take it! Freedom birb decided it was my time. :P Rather have a F-22 but a Warthog will do!
Thanks Vince! I love my Sham-Wow! JayEffinC.....
I hate that I love this guy so much. Gotta be Jealousy!
Damm how have i only just found your channel this is insanely good
i hope you guys are helpin out in NC!
Will someone please tell heavy d we need him in north carolina. The government is letting people die after the hurricane came thru. We need to bring light to the catastrophe going on. Please I beg you to look into this. God bless
Wow this is nuts the fact that a lot of these comments are ppl ask in for help is alarming Ik the government can’t cover everything(they could but they have the excuse of budget n resources is hot garbage) but there’s ppl in nothing but struggle time n living hell this shows imo the government really isn’t helping..I pray for all the ppl in need of help not matter how little or big of help, help is still help we gotta pull together I wish I could help
@@230monsta they took money from the fema budget and used it on illegal aliens. It was just announced today by floridas attorney general Moody
They are moving in the resources need. Now sure military grunts may not be trained if like new. But have discipline and can follow orders. If longer term can be the leaders.
I was never first responder and never or rarely first on scene. Just utility cleanup at smaller more local weather.
2:42 He's so good at marketing that he does ads on products he just likes.
Hey are you guys going to North Carolina? Cletus is there. Id come with to help.
Searching the crash site of the A-10 Warthog was an awesome exploring adventure, cheers HD and crew, mighty fine reel...
That's a heck of climb! What until you're an old fart like myself almost 70. I have copd for 22 years. I'm still going out climbing more hills now, but it still kicks my butt. You're coming up with some cool stuff, I watch, I have to give you and Dave a compliment. You've definitely move up town. I'm saying you guys are doing well and I'm very happy for you. I've been watching you from way back You've done some growing for sure. Keep recording and I'll keep watching. Be safe, be happy!
I was hoping to see some Blackhawk etc humanitarian aid after the storms in Tennessee, North Carolina, etc.
The A-10 warthog is my favorite plane. I love seeing them in the movies when they fly between the buildings downtown.
Welp that was a waste of time and just a long ad...

Title as if they found a plane the military and nobody else could find. Title should be "We hiked to an old plane crash site in the desert".
It should be watch us do an advertisement wile we find trash on a hill

The F35 in the sky rn: 👀
Then where does their hug helicopter thing come in?
Pilot made it but I can’t believe they didn’t come and remove the aircraft as well. Government seems to rarely leave their mistakes left out lol
Who says they didn't? Watch the video, there not much of an aircraft there. They found basically some scraps of metal.
They didn’t have on x to know who owned the land 😂
Oh, they did. They likely had all of the electronics recovered within hours. All that remains is scrap metal that isn't worth the cost of removing.
@@_JamesBrown yeah, that makes sense lmao. Didn’t think of that, thanks
@@Flying90 yeah we all know how good military grade hardware is😂
Are you guys gonna go help the people in NC and TN??
When he said, " this terrain is so steep this video doesn't do it justice", 😂 I died laughing. I'm like, bulls**t man it's lookin hella steep on video!
I think the people of North Carolina and Tennessee could use you and your Blackhawk.
How about "WOW" SHAMMED AGAIN!
Someone get me a " bath tub" takes on a new meaning. I feel soaked!!!!
