39:23 "Liu Bei is probably optimally used to just get himself killed" Honestly, that's pretty lore accurate lol. Liu Bei threatening others with dying/killing himself.
one of the things i loved most about Eight Princes was that genetic characters got to shine a lot more with all the great generic silver/gold items. In the Three Kingdoms era legendary characters and their unique gear really steal the spotlight from these diverse items and interesting builds
Me: A sword that only gives bonus to authority and decreases instinct? This has to be trash. Also me seeing it in A tier: I've never doubted this sword's ability
What I hate about unique weapons and items is that once the faction who keep it meet their doom, they just vanished. Sure this weapon should have its own events like heritage or gift or something like that. They are very value to be gone just like that... Furthermore, there should be a way to know who has this weapon and when they spawn in the campaign map. Weapons such famous and value like this probably have some fame that spread around the world. Don´t you think so Trivia? I guess you must know about how mucho (or not) this tools were desired by everybody.
It would be nice for the items to be made available instead of disappearing although I suggest they go to the rebels which is why they have so many gold items at times
One thing that is horrible is that the strategist class do not get their own class of weapons and compete with commander class for good weapons. No weapon to boost cunning stats except one of the unique "Mo Ye".
They should just get the choice between fans and authority swords: Fans take their ability to hit enemies but instead increase attack speed of nearby enemies Swords... Slash
The interesting part of strategist during three kingdom era is that, Horseback riding, Archery and Sword Fighting are very consider core of their training alongside with literature, math, moral and etc. So they are better duelist then people give credit to, later time in the chinese history because a lot of family can't afford to have them learn all these skills, that is when the weak nerd sterotype came in.
Also I find it weird that the Twin Martial Ji can be equipped by generic Commanders and Sentinels while the Martial Ji can be equipped by generic Champions and Vanguards. The main issue I observed is that the Martial Ji on Champions and Vanguards can mess up their active AoE skills like Hamstring and Flames of the Phoenix. Instead, they just do like a weapon swing.
Great video as always! One thing I might change - I think Dread Bringer should be rated higher as it has decent stats, fear, and is the highest damage weapon in the game aside from the maces. Also, it is on one of my favorite generals, so that counts for something.....
I was able to give Zhang Jue's Staff to Wei Yan once I beat the yellow turbans down and he ran through a lot of people with it. It was fun watching those duels! Ha
Dual swords of Liu Bei, actually, have a very good niche in my opinion. For someone like Liu Chong (when used as a ranged) or Nanman heroes on elephants - additional combat stats (without good damage) can be a more valuable addition. You trade some authority for some combat stats, including health-pool
My bad that I didn't word it well in the previous comment. The unique weapons included in this tier list have no issues. They can be obtained from executing the captured generals that have them equipped. I've done that a lot in patch 1.7.1 from executing like Liu Bei to get his Shuang Gu Jian. However, the unique weapons, introduced later in Fates Divided not in this tier list, are the ones that cannot be obtained from executing captured generals due to some unresolved bug.
This was really interesting! I always play with Wu_Kingdaissance so thechinacally this video is not too relevant for me but I still really enjoyed it. I love that you did a quick overview of all the weapons as well. Keep up the great work!
I think that sword with cunning and expertise on it would also be great for lu zhi. He starts the game with nearly 100 expertise. I think its 97. That means with the sword and a single talent point you can get him over 120. He may not have fat armor and damage but he can be very effective as a supporting general helping your steonger general end some lives while not dueling. Put your two generals in a hit squad and have them hunt down an enemy general or two.
I know the tier list is made before more unique weapons are introduced in patch 1.7.0 but I noticed that there's a bug with them. In particular, the unique weapons equipped by Yu Jin, Zhang He, and Yan Liang are impossible to obtain by executing them upon capture. The only possible way to get them is by recruiting them. This is a small annoying issue for Han and bandit factions but can be very frustrating when playing as Yellow Turban factions.
I never imagined, so Yellow Turbans weapons got unique tier...playing He Yi campaign, I don't get any even exeptional quality from weapon masters, only from quests.
Hehehe, I expected that. Of all medieval weapons, the most feared was the most ancient one and the least impressive: the axe. Swords and spears are decorated to show the prestige of their owner, maces are not decorated, but they do only blunt damage. But who doesn't fear a berserker armed with a big old axe? One-handed or two-handed, it doesn't matter, it does the job well piercing armour and flesh equally. Remember of all the most feared weapons, the iconic feature of a Viking berserker with a great axe, this is a figure that we fear most- and from this image we have formed the iconic "barbarian" warrior, with an "unstyled" great axe. So, the Red Sisters would reach the top, as they are designed simply to do the job. This is all that matters. However, I would like to add my own opinion: everything in the war is permitted, so maybe there's no "best" weapon. All that matters is what exactly you want from each character, either you want authority, resolve, expertise or anything else. So, the "best" weapon is the certain weapon that fits better to the role each general or strategist has to play in the game, no matter if it's a common weapon or a special one. After all, as Sun Tzu says, "The best weapon of the world is the one that fits in your hand".
Guan Yu's Green Dragon Crescent Blade's stat might seem abit mediocre but if you have the proper skill like the one that does 10K damage and 7.5K splash damage coupled with the one that consistently adds damage and attack speed every time he's in combat, suddenly the blade becomes a blender blade where you can toss him towards a general and always come out winning the duel within 40sec. The problem of giving Zhao Yun the Blue Blade instantly isn't accurate at all as he only gotten it off one of Cao Cao's lieutenants, Xiahou En while he was chasing Zhao Yun when he was retreating the combat zone of Changban after rescuing Ah Dou (Liu Bei's son) and after losing/broke his spear during combat. In my opinion, that should have been an event rather than giving it out to him for free as the Blue Blade was known to be one of Cao Cao's favourite blade besides his Trust of God blade before he gave it to En.
right but I am not going to rank the blade higher because Guan Yu himself have a good skill because that has nothing to do with the weapon. And if we should have a 208 start or later then definitely Zhao Yun would start with the blade as that episode is already over. He was given it too early in 194 and then CA took it back in a patch to fix it
A bit late but I give Zhao Yun the Red Hare and the Crescent Blade. He can wipe out entire armies simply by horsing around. This guy is incredible, I can't imagine another weapon as effective on him (aside from Sky Piercer which would be useful once he's max level because of the expertise debuff).
Hey, I'm not sure about this, but going off of my memory I think Sun Ren can use unique Yellow Turban weapons. I know I was able to get her to use Zhang Jue's staff in a MoH start. Sun Ren's available weapons are different from a normal Vanguard, I think she can use all Han weapons and... I guess the Yellow Turban weapons as well? It was a while back, and given we're talking about MoH it very well might have been a glitch.
I wasnt aware that instinct only boosts base damage! so this means you shouldn't give things like say the Giantbane to vanguards as their AP damage doesnt synergize that well with their high instinct?
I don't know about the gun of purity but Zhao Yun and Zhan Yan can use Zhang Jue's staff, and I bet a few other legendary han charcters can also use it.
I really disagree with a part of your logic on the video! Which is totally fine since it's personal opinion of course :) But something really important is this: an average soldier does not have a couple thousand hp so you don't really need the huge amount of AP damage. That will all be wasted damage because you can't damage more than an entity's HP. Regular damage weapons tend to have higher values than ap. Who cares if 50% is taken off via armor when the soldier dies anyway? Many of these weapons are low tier duel weapons but fantastic army killers! Well, now I'll continue binging your stuff, keep up the good work!
Look at CA being historically accurate all of a sudden. Zhao Yun can't have his Blue Blade but Xu Chu is already in Cao Cao's army in the 194 start date. Didn't he join Cao Cao in 197 or was it different in the novel?
@@SeriousTrivia I was actually surprised to see Xu Shu. Completely forgot he existed and had a unique portrait. Li Ru sound pretty good on paper with his amazing melee evasion. I am interested if there are other sentinel/strategist hybrids coming.
Great video! I have a question about some of the silver weapons, specifically the ones which give + resolve but - instinct. Take the war axe, for example. Is the gain of health really worth the loss of melee evasion, given you just lose that health quicker?
Depends on your character. Like on a strong champion who can build so much resolve that it becomes like double health then losing like 5% melee evasion isn’t going to be too much of an issue since battle axes hit pretty hard
I actually believe it is because an AI faction crafted it and then they got destroyed so those gold went into limbo and that is why the rebels are bringing them back to the game

That’s so many assumptions lol. I don’t play much MTU so I can’t help you with that part but trust of god is much better than shuang gu jian so Liu Bei should switch

@@SeriousTrivia Wow thats such a bummer. I mean granted it was a little overpowered but stacking 3 Strategists with nothing but Onyx Dragons and that set bonus made them untouchable in melee

his axe and dailai's mace should be bounded but the game file sometimes allows them to be swapped and in the launch patch sometime they will just disappear. I think now they don't disappear anymore but the option of how can use them is still really weird

I've had plenty of problems with the mace, it's bound to the character you equip it to, which is annoying. One time I waited too long to give it to someone, and it just disappeared eventually.
I once captured Dailai, and on execution reward I saw his famous mace. After execution it went to private inventory of army leader (who happens to be Luo Jun , who is now happily doing barbecue every duel he attends to). Item is untreatable after that. how do you acquire weapon? in some game i acquire them as i receive a title... in Cao Cao, i receive Dual War Axes when i got the title Steward of the changle palace... is this random or does title comes with weapon?
there is always a random chance to spawn items every turn or you can have more control if you build forge buildings in your commanderies or control weaponsmith counties on the map

If dailai die will the burning mace be lost forever or will it be able to be given to anyone?
his faction will give it to someone else
I've had plenty of problems with the mace, it's bound to the character you equip it to, which is annoying. One time I waited too long to give it to someone, and it just disappeared eventually.
I once captured Dailai, and on execution reward I saw his famous mace. After execution it went to private inventory of army leader (who happens to be Luo Jun , who is now happily doing barbecue every duel he attends to). Item is untreatable after that. PS: I play with MTU mode, perhaps that’s why I could get it, though I didn’t find the description of that feature in mode description.
@@Fidel17011984 I play without mods and it can be equipped on Zhang Lu, who is another green general. It's not a mod thing even though it's true that many champions can't use it.
how do you acquire weapon?
in some game i acquire them as i receive a title... in Cao Cao, i receive Dual War Axes when i got the title Steward of the changle palace... is this random or does title comes with weapon?
there is always a random chance to spawn items every turn or you can have more control if you build forge buildings in your commanderies or control weaponsmith counties on the map
If there is a gold matched Jian called 干将莫邪, what would be it’s stats and what bonuses would it provide?
I mean they already exist as separate weapons so I don’t see them remaking them as a pair
I have never managed to recruit Xu huang :(
Han Empire was hoarding almost all unique generals, including Xu Huang and Taishi Ci
Does Zhao yun still start with the Blue Blade in 190 or 194 Start ?
Nope
@@SeriousTrivia So i can only get the Blue Blade by RNG in the Craftsman
Slapping myself after trading the flaming mace away for gold 😐
Are you Chinese? Your pronunciation of Chinese name is perfect.
Yep
Can anyone tell me how or where to get He Man special weapon "Celestial Bodies".
I haven't played He Yi's campaign but I assume it would be a mission for them
@@SeriousTrivia I have played and ended the whole campaign without getting the said weapon. I got the ancestral pledge and Ji of heavenly mandate but no "Heavenly Bodies"
I know you can craft it but that would a chance event
@@SeriousTrivia I appreciate your response and also the content of your video.
I usually try to give my vanguards the ji because they can use boost their melee dmg and still have enough armor piercing :3
