Aside from being extremely talented and hugely versatile, Fred appears to be a genuinely nice guy. His portraits are fascinating and insightful, and I find his portraits of Earth, especially the "ant views" to be irresistible. Art lovers in the Philly area need to beat a path to the Fan Gallery while this exhibit is there on view.
Yeah, I remember Fred dating a gal from the Phila College of Textile, but she was too materialistic. 🤭 Seriously, I was a student of his at the Art Institute back around 1979. Was a great teacher and overall good guy. He may remember commenting on a painting called "Black on Black".. was a black cross on a black background that sold for a lot of $$. He joked about how we could just do it ourselves. Really cool to see he's still painting.
Love this video... F. Danzinger's work speaks on its own... yet the narrative is universal.
Thanks, as always.
